    As a Latina family, we understand the importance of passing our culture our children too. You have great tips and I know how important its to pass our cultura to our children. Music and food is some of the things I am definitely passing them 😁 great video! Thank you for sharing.

    I have to commend you on this video! I wish my parents spoke to me in their dialect because I struggle alot when I visit. It's nice to understand and be able to stand up for where you are from. It's a part of you that you should always be proud of! The things I am grateful for is the fact that I was able to travel back home often. Because I am able to see, learn and maneuver there. I really will get my husband to teach our kids his dialect. But thank you so much for sharing. This is something I forgot, reminders like this are always worth it. YES the clubs! It's so nice to introduce your children to those cultural events! I love this! Well done.

      Wow, Jaja Rose you are amazing 👏. And yes knowing you for this little time, one thing I must say is that you're well cultured. You have the most brilliant personality.
      So true, if these kids are culturally nurtured they will grow up knowing who they really are and won't feel outcasted regardless of where they see themselves.
      Thanks for watching hun. X

    I totally enjoyed this video!
    I had to watch twice cos I was getting distracted the first time! You are absolutely bang on! It is very important we introduce our culture to our children! My little humans already learning how to speak pidgin English as I can’t speak pidgin to save my life but luckily my husband does!
    We always make sure our food is all cultured and everything! I love my culture and everything we represent and we must respect that!
    Thank you for this video c

    I love this video so much, we are late on the language as well, my mother in law kept reminding us until we started and the kids are loving it, we use TH-cam videos to help as well. Yes the food part, we've been good on and they love it. You're right on taking them home - they loved when we visited home and can't wait for more. They're always asking when we're going back. The music, oh yes . They love so much and carrying them on our back has been with them since they were babies and yes sis, it's a great way to bond with them. Our culture is beautiful and they need to live it and embrace it. Its who they are. Beautiful video 😘

    This is so great.. Especially with having kids away from home. It gives them something to hold onto even when they visit home it's not shocking. I have lived away from home yet still speak and understand my native languages because my momadr sure it was always used at home

    • @dejonahsfamily1979
      @dejonahsfamily1979  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly even if you have been away for a while.. knowing that language still gives you that sense of belonging when you go back home or even when you come across people from your place. The benefit is far important 👌. Thank for watching x

    All this points are correct, especially the music tip. My 15months old started saying some words in Yoruba, and also understands when I speak to him. I have always wanted my kids to understand my language.

    This is such an important topic especially in the black community we tend to get carried away with the western culture forgetting that the children will pick the western culture anyway. I speak Yoruba to my children and we eat Nigerian food. My son loves wearing his native cloth like he's going to pick a wife everyday lool

      🤣🤣.. weldon mama you get my point. These kids are not born with life manual so we must teach them what we want them to know. 🤷🏿‍♀️

    I am also very late in teaching and speaking my native language to my kids that's because I and my husband doesn't speak the same dialect nevertheless the less we've started speaking.

    • @dejonahsfamily1979
      @dejonahsfamily1979  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow sis, is hard to keep up when parent don't speak the same language but at the same time its easier for mum to teach the kids her language at least they don't miss out on both. So, let's start hence is never too late. X
