    First, love your videos. Second, I learned recently that one can make a lactose free whole milk substitute by mixing 10% heavy cream with 90% water and sweetening to taste with 0 carb sweetener of choice. It's a game changer imo. I always have heavy cream on hand.

    • @BlackTieKitchen
      @BlackTieKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup! Heavy cream, milk, half and half, etc are just different mixtures of milk and water (to a degree). For some reason though, I find the flavor and fattiness of cream and water to not fully match milk, but its a great method!

I have been experimenting with Allulose lately but see that it has 4 g./tsp of carbs. Your serving size shows 4 oz, but only 4.8 carbs. Help me with the math?

    • @BlackTieKitchen

      It might show as 4g/tsp, but the body doesnt process it. It's one of those 'its a carb but its not fiber, so it has to be counted as carbs.' there are a lot of papers out there showing this as well, including the FDA paper for approval

    • @BlackTieKitchen
      @BlackTieKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It would be, yup. The lactose free milk is low in carbs - I was also trying to find the right balance between flavor and fat. Too much almond milk and it just tastes like almonds. Too much cream and it's too fatty. If you leave out the milk, do 1.5 cups almond milk and 1.5 cups cream. Or... Just substitute it with liquor 😂
