I'm from the East Village in NYC - where they are shouting out in this song - and the day MCA passed away the bar down the street projected this and some other Beastie Videos on the wall of the building across the street. It was a moment. They were just spontaneously deciding to pay tribute to these guys, it both broke my heart and made me happy that they're still so loved... as they should be. They were truly genius. There's a live concert from Amsterdam in 2004 and it's just outstanding.. definitely not to be missed.

You need to go in for the long haul and go with B-Boy Bouillabaisse at the tail end of Paul's Boutique. There is a lot there to unpack. There will never be another album like Paul's Boutique with all the sampling they do it'd be cost prohibitive in today's world.

If they didn’t have a contract for a third album they would have fell off and they spent all their money making it. They ended up isolating themselves in a band room and cemented themselves in music with their third album. Many true fans consider Paul’s Boutique to be one of their best. Awesome reaction.
