    I am running Cooper AT3 on my 2001 k2500 Suburban in 285/75/16 which is roughly 33x11.50x16 and they have been the best tires I have ever bought.

    I have Falken Wildpeak AT3's on my S10 Blazer. They are a very aggressive all terrain. For the price they are awesome tires! Good road manners, not too noisy, the siping was great this winter on the snowy icy slush we get here in North Carolina. My favorite part about these tires has been the aggressive lugs that extend onto the sidewall, not only do they look cool but if I am venturing out into the woods I can air down to 10 Psi or so and the extra traction from the sidewall lugs is incredible!

    The blazer is looking good. I like the 6.2 it just needs a turbo kit and an overdrive transmission.

      Having a 700r4 built and turbo kit will save a lot of headaches... won’t win quarter mile runs but she sure run for a long time. Parts are cheaper too

      @05EVORS 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JOHNdOE-yy2ld totally agree the 6.2/6.5 frame w snail is worthy of 15-17sec quarter mile depending on tire size/gearing and that is respectable

      The bfgs km2s vs 3 are (newest ones as of September 2019 )way better than km2s verson.2 on ice if anyone has one of these with a 4l60/700R4 junk it honestly 700r4 is crap unless you want to dump major money to swap to stick or th400 the dana 44s weak but buildable but ive had tons tons of these ,did one for sister with 3/4 ton running gear and 454 out of suburban for Montana the weak link was 700r4 the 208 you can live with best low gear but chain drive in the end run a toyota just tougher just my 2 cents the older 70s ones were decent just 80s sucked

    Sharp looking old school blazer. Nice to see some HD axles under there I run good year duratracs onnmy work truck- best for mileage, and real good in all types of terrain. I run the BFG 37” all terrains on my 2012 SVT Raptor, only because they don’t have the duratrac in 37 inch. Both are real good in all types of weather and terrain

    This is such a sick build it looks great and I’m so impressed how rust free your frame is. I also live in the rust belt and deal with it. I’ve got a TH-cam channel that I do offroading in my wrangler and I’m also doing a build with my truck I daily. I’m very interested in trying the method you use to battle rust. Seems legit! Great job and keep up the vids!

    As for tires, I use BFG TA KO2's, I live in Colorado where they do not use much salt nor do they plow much (lived most of my life in the North East) am an avid skier and run my rig all winter long. I have been in 2' of snow in OR and all last winter was on I70 (Eisenhower Tunnel, Vail Pass) 2x a week to go skiing and have traversed those passes under "chain up" restrictions (not commercial so do not need chains, just snow tires) with no problems. I have run the high desert trails and steep volcanic rock roads, 100's of miles of corrugated tracks and the tires do well, have not run them in much mud (pretty arid around here). The tires are 315/75 R 16's load range E mounted to a 2017 FUSO FG Earthcruiser at 12,000lb operating weight. They are expensive tires but I must have a severe snow service tire by law here in Colorado and they work well for me.

      capachin I was looking at those and I think they might be a great match for what I do as well! Thanks for the input! I might make that the next tire I purchase! Subscribe!

    Question 1 is your dashboard lined? If so what liner? I have a replacement dash. I wanted to paint. But I wasn’t sure about the heat here in FLORIDA.
    Question 2 how do you have that fire extinguisher mounted?
    Question 3 is your roof rack custom built or bought, can the topper still be removed with the rack on it.
    Keep up the videos👍

    • @OdysseyOverland4x4
      @OdysseyOverland4x4  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam llaneta 1) it's line-x same as the floors and door panels. They all match. I'd sell em to you if you wanted them
      2) Well, that's a harder question to answer haha, but I have a dream, getting there takes a while is all
      3) yes the top can still be removed, and it had some customization, and some off the shelf components... I'll make a video of that soon ish!

    • @OdysseyOverland4x4
      @OdysseyOverland4x4  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jeramy crowell I'm fabbing up see brackets for them. I am working on the blueprints now. If all goes well, I may sell them and/or make a kit for them. A follow up video is on the way soon!
      PS- the nice part about the brackets I'm trying to make is that you won't have to drill any new holes!

      @@OdysseyOverland4x4 id like to see them when youre done, i did the same thing with my blazer and swapped a third row from a suburban in it. Just curious on which route you took on yours.

    • @OdysseyOverland4x4
      @OdysseyOverland4x4  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      jeramy crowell Sure thing! Click the bell icon to be notified of that upload. I'll show the route and reasoning for my design. I saw some other folks who are making them are using steel that's a bit too thin for my liking, or have no flexibility between solid or split bench seats. I'm trying to make a kit that can take care of all varieties of seat from 2000-2014. That equals limitless possibilities! I used some inspiration from some builders, added my own flare and solutions to some problems, and hopefully can sell it for significantly less using a fabricator I have been working with for some time now.

    1 ton suspension, 3:73 gears, NV3500 or NV4500 should give you mid 20's mpg. Upgrade to a bigger tank (50 gallon insulated with an immersion heater for better range and fuel independence). Insulate fuel and brake lines in conduit. Add a fuel filter heater.
    *If you eventually add a trailer? Make sure you have a 75 gallon fuel tank. Have it in a insulated tool box. Put a 5 micron sock or strainer in the fill spout. Have a immersion heater, a pump, a water separator and a 1 micron oil filter. That way you will never have to see a gas station. Collect and prefilter WVO, WMO and WATF. Will take a load off of your wallet.

    • @OdysseyOverland4x4
      @OdysseyOverland4x4  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plan is a cummins swap, with the 1 ton suspension package and the nv4500. The fuel tank might be a good idea though!

    • @bladenrexroth2555

      OdysseyOverland4x4 pretty sad the 4bt is a 4 cyl and puts down better HP to Torque #'s than the 6.2 V8.

    • @OdysseyOverland4x4
      @OdysseyOverland4x4  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bladen Rexroth indeed it is. I will be going with the 6bt though. I work as a diesel engine engineer, and I created a full model of the K5 frame and did some torsional analysis on it, and it'll definitely take the 6bt, plus also, a fully dressed 6.2 weighs 835lb, and a Cummins 6bt is 950 (wet). Not bad if you ask me!
