আজ আপনার ভিডীওটা দেখতে দেখতে গায়ে কাঁটা দিচ্ছিলো। সত্যি বলছি দাদা। আমি শুধু ভাবছি যে আমাদের মতো কোনো সাধারণ ফ্যামিলি বাচ্চা - বয়ষ্কদের নিয়ে এমন অবস্থায় পড়েন, তাহলে কি ভয়ঙ্কর ব্যপার হবে। এই ভিডিওটা করে, সকলকে সত্যি ঘটনাটা সম্বন্ধে সাবধান করে দিয়ে, আপনি একটা সত্যিকারের সামাজিক কর্তব্য পালন করলেন দাদা। Thank You - অরুণ
এই ভিডিও টা খুব দরকার ছিল দাদা। অনেক উপকার হলো যারা ঘুরতে যাবেন তাদের জন্য।
পুরুষদের মেয়েদের মত এতো খিচ খিচ করতে নেই। পয়সা বাঁচানোর জন্য সস্তার ট্রেভেল এজেন্ট দের সাথে ব্যবস্থা করলে এই রকম হবেই। সরকার অনুমোদিত ট্রেভেল এজেন্ট দের সাথে ব্যবস্থা করে যাওয়াই ভালো সেটা সবাই জানে। আর ওই ভদ্রলোক নিজেকে খুব চালাক ভাবেন। ট্রেভেল এজেন্ট এর কাছে প্রতারিত হয়ে শিক্ষা হয় নি এখ্ন ড্রাইভার এর কাছে প্রতারিত হওয়ার জ্ন্য গলা বাড়িয়ে দিচ্ছেন।
লাচুং গেছিলাম কলকাতার নামী ট্রাভেল এজেন্সীর সাথে কিন্তু ঠিক একইরকম অবস্থার সম্মুখীন হতে হয়েছিলো,এটাই বোধহয় লাচুং এর হোটেলের ট্র্যাডিশন।আমরা যারা সিকিম বেড়াতে যাই তারা যদি নর্থ সিকিম বয়কট করি তাহলেই এদের যথার্থ শাস্তি হবে,পর্যটক না থাকলে এরা খাবে কি?
নর্থ সিকিম special Problematic, সাউথ বা ওয়েস্ট সিকিম বা সিল্করুট অনেক আন্তরিক। নর্থ সিকিম tour অনেকটা handicapped system, package system গোলমেলে আপনার হাতের বাইরে সব হয়ে যায়, গাড়ি হোটেল সব। অফুরন্ত প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য সাথে চূড়ান্ত অসহযোগী অপেশাদার মানসিকতা। Gangtok থেকে যাত্রা না করে মংগন থেকে যাত্রা করলে কিছুটা ভাল সার্ভিস পাওয়া যায়।

North Sikkim is really beautiful, but this problem remained since at least 2003 (been a Sikkim traveller for 14 times and North Sikkim more than 4 times). So, if it has been happening for the last 18 years, do we really see an end at the near future? You may. I don't.
The moment you spoke about a 2600 bucks per head shared cost, an alarm bell rang. Been there, done that, almost.
Yes I agree there are MANY hotels, specially in North Sikkim, who take advantage of the unsuspecting travellers. It is pure exploitation, and that too, specially, in North Sikkim. Completely agree.
To combat it -
A. Make longer trip plans (3N/4D or longer) and get an exclusive car for your group and only the car and permits. Decide on your hotels on the go. Mostly, unless your group comprises of a bus load of people, you will get accommodation. And guess what, if a decent hotel has rooms not already pre-booked from Gangtok, you may get a bargain as well (what I did for the last 3 times in my North Sikkim tour).
B. Make plans ONLY with reputed Travel Agents and not mushrooming ones (if you just randomly go, in all likelihood, it would be one of those mushrooms, the same that you get in Canning Station for the Sunderbans but that is a different story.. lol). Please ask for money receipt.
C. If you have good contacts with any hotel (I've happened to have some due to my repeated visits), tell the Hotel Manager about what you require in specific, and in all likelihood, your wish would be his / her command. Otherwise, they lose a permanent customer forever.
I personally found hotels in Lachung to be better, overall, than hotels in Lachen. If you know facts, be prepared for the elements. During our first visit, our Lachen hotel looked ok but the room window was defective and a "gentle breeze" would forever flow in at night, in the middle of November. It didnt really impact us much though, as we were carrying our own sleeping bags, and so the single mink blanket (in the mid of November, really?) worked just fine! So, if you are going to North Sikkim, carry your flashlights, candles, dry food to some extent. Sikkim hospitality is usually legendary. North Sikkim, mostly opposite. And please also remember that this is a remote area.
Next time onwards, we were wiser.
P.S. I hear the anguish of one North Sikkim hotel owner. I am sure he is a very fine gentleman with all intent of serving the mankind like Mother Theresa did, but when there are a few thousand people with similar complaints, in the voice of ACP Pradyumn of the famed CID "Kuchh toh gadhbadh hain"
And any Sikkim Hotel Owner trying to challenge whether I really have been there or not, please travel to Hotel Norbu Ghang in Gangtok, and unless the management has changed, you may still see photographs signed by your truly at the reception lobby. Thank you!

We just returned from Lachung. If your budget permits, then always book your hotel by yourself from any booking sites & go without any travel agents. We stayed at Delight Royal Lachung. It's a Bengali Hotel & staffs are Bengali. Very good foods & very cooperative staffs. They have hotels in Lachen as well. I Paid 3k including breakfast & Dinner for Double bed room. Hotel has generator & 24hrs. hot water from geyser if no load shedding.
Vison sotyie..delight group has hotel in lachen and lachung both..the hotels and stuffs were really good. Also in budget. They serve only veg. But quality of food is good.

এই হোটেল এ 21 ডিসেম্বর আমরা গিয়েছিলাম দাদা... তখন এরা কেউ ছিল না... সকালের ব্রেকফাস্ট ওরা প্যাক করে দিয়াছিল... হোটেল সার্ভিস অসাধারণ... ফেরার সময় বিকাল 3.30 pm হয়ে যাও তাও মিল পেয়েছিলাম... রাতে খাবার ঘরে ভালো dinner দিয়েছিলো...আমাদের পোশাক ও সু wash করে দিয়েছিল.. আজ দেখছি তারা কেউ নেই..

Sharing my opinion here. 1. Never go with any travel agent. Nijera arrangement korun. Er jonnyo kono bhalo sadharon Gangtok er hotel er sathe connect thakle bhalo hoy.amra je hotel e chilam, tar malik or bhaipo r gari te amader tour arrange kore diyechilo. 2. NORTH SIKKIM IS NOT FOR ALL TOURISTS. Please respect this truth, please don't complain about power cut, simple food etc. IF you are physically and psychological ly strong , tobei okhane jan. Noyto just bhison scenic bhebe jodi jaoa monostho koren , durdosha r sesh thakbe na.

দাদা খুব ভালো হলো এই ভিডিও টা আপনি বানিয়েছেন। আমরা ৩জন ডিসেম্বর মাসে গেছিলাম সেম এই হোটেলই ছিলাম আর এই ছেলেটাই ছিল আমাদের রাতে খাবার দিয়ে এক বাটি ডাল দিয়ে বলছে এটা ৩জন ভাগ করে খান আর ডাল ডিম সবজি কিছু নেই আমরা বলাম সেটা কি করে হয় এটা কেমন পরিষেবা তখন এই ছেলেটা বলছে আমার কিছু করার নেই যেখান থেকে প্যাকেজ করে আসছেন তাদের বলুন।তখন আমি একটু গরম দিলে উল্টে ওর মালিক কে ফোন করে বলে আমরা বলে মদ খেয়ে ওকে উল্টো পাল্টা বলেছি।তখন ওর মালিক ও আমাকে ফোন করে খুব উল্টো পাল্টা বলে বলে কি যদি বেশি বাড়াবাড়ি করি আমাদের নামে মিথ্যা কেস দিয়ে থানায় ভরে দেবে। তার পর কি করবো একটু ভয় তো লাগেই বাইরে গেছি আমরা কথা আর বাড়ায়নি। ( হোটেল মালিক আরো বাজে বাজে কথা বলেছিল আর গালি দিয়েছিল সেগুলি আর উল্লেখ করলাম না।)

আমরা 25 জন একটি দল গিয়েছিলাম সিকিমে
ওখানে গিয়ে দেখি হোটেলে কর্মীরা মদ্যপ অবস্থায় শুয়ে আছে
যখন আমরা খাবারের কথা বলি আমাদের সাথে গালিগালাজ মারামারি গায়ে হাত পর্যন্ত দেয় মহিলাদের
না খাবার দিয়েছে না দিয়েছে জল বাথরুমে জল ছিলনা ঘরে হিটার ছিল না সেই রাত্রির টা অনেক কষ্ট করে ছিলাম
সবচেয়ে বেশি কষ্ট হয়েছিল যখন বাচ্চারা না খেয়ে ছিল এবং বলছিল তাদের খেতে দেওয়ার জন্য
যার কাছে যেটুকু খাবার ছিল সবাই সেগুলো ভাগ করে খাওয়া হয় তার মধ্যে আরও একটা কষ্ট হচ্ছে ঠাণ্ডা তখন ওখানে - 7 ডিগ্রি তাপমাত্রা চলছিল সারারাত ঠিকমতো শুতে পারিনি আমরা

Thanks for this video. We need to expose such unscrupulous hotel owners and staff. They tarnish the image of such a beautiful place.
The main issue is permit , if sikkim govt can provide this services such that we should not depend on any travel agent then we can directly book cab and hotel by us only

I am a big follower of your vlogs and understand you are trying to address a common problem in this area, we should also understand that these areas are quite remote and takes a lot of effort to arrange for logistics. There must be surely other ways to handle such hotel issues you are trying to address but this way of maligning a single defenseless person in front of the whole world is a bit too harsh for that person. It's better to confront the agency and post their response for everyone to see. It's the agency and hotel owner who is at fault for the type of problem you are highlighting and not exactly this poor cook who is just an employee who might lose his job after this incident. Wish you can conclude this episode by confronting the agency and hotel owner and exposing their response, attitude in front of everyone as they are the real culprits.

6.30 am is not the proper time for breakfast. It's too early. It is not fault of that man. You should have been more alert and aware of the realities in INDIA. Breakfast timing starts as early from 7 am, not before that. Sorry to say but i feel you are being too harsh on him and overreacting. 6.30 is too early for breakfast.
1 এপ্রিল গেছিলাম দাদা। লাচুন এ লোকেদের ব্যবহার একদম ই ভালো না এটা বুঝলাম।তবে লাচেন এ কোনো সমস্যা হয়নি। আর এটাও বুজলাম যত কম টাকা এজেন্ট নেবে পরিসেবা ততটাই বাজে দেবে।ভিডিওগুলো দেখে খুবই ভালো লাগলো।
এই একই অবস্থা আমাদের হয়েছিল দাদা এই সমস্যা দীর্ঘ দিনের কারণ আমরা 2007এ গিয়ে ছিলাম ভাবতে অবাক লাগছে যে এখনো একই রকম অবস্থা রয়ে গিয়েছে 😮🤔
The toughest part of Sikkim tour is gurudungmar Lake visit ...1st of all it is at extreme high level altitude so medical issues are a problem and 2nd to stay at lachen ..it is the worst part. I have also faced the horrible experience in a hotel of lachen.

Lachen and Lachung were considered to be pretty remote villages not so long ago. When the tourist/traveller inflow was very few compared to as of today, they were (as i have heard from many ) extremely hospitable places with very limited resources just like any mountain village across India.
Back in 2016 December, my experience of Lachen and Lachung have been similarly ruined as yours, probably because of unnecessary commercialization and the matter of overpromising, taking money and under delivering by travel agencies.

Been to North Sikkim 3 times..... 1st time was a disaster ...very bad service with not enough food... We had to stay hungry. 2nd and 3rd experience was really really good. We had proper hotels with proper food. They gave us chicken and everything. In La Chen they gave us all more than 2 pieces of chicken .... So basically you are right. If the travel agency is good you do not have to worry about the service. We got the best service from the travel agency next to Dragon Wok restaurant and also from Hotel Kanchenzonga .... You all can check these two travel agencies...They are good.

@@rajansheshadhri939 আমি এরকম ভাবেই টুর করি এবং আমি যেসব হোটেলের সঙ্গে কাজ করি তারা এরকম কখনো করেনি।তবে আমার রেট একটু বেশি অন্যদের তুলনায়।কারণ আমি জানি যারা আমার সঙ্গে ঘুরতে যাবে তারাই আমাকে পরবর্তী কালে guest দেবে।
একটা কথা সবসময় সত্যি, যেরকম গুড় দেবেন সেরকম মিষ্টি হবে।👍🙏

Lachen এ খুব বাজে হোটেল পাই আমরা ।। আপনাদের মতো অবস্থা ।। কিন্তু বলছি দাদা আমাদের ড্রাইভার "karma ji" উনি আমাদের খাবার সার্ভ করেছেন , জল এনে দিয়েছেন , আমাদের অবিশ্বাস্য লাগছিলো এত ভালো উনি । আর lachung এর হোটেল দারুন ছিলো , বাঙালি মালিক অসম্ভব ভালো সার্ভিস ছিলো ।।

Lachung is not offbeat .. its quite famous
I am having same bitter experience in North Sikkim in 2012. Problem is that if the number of heads of your group remains less then you have to go to travel agent and you will be trapped. As we were 2 in number and the cost of whole car was too much for 2night 3 days and so even after knowing all the fact we joined Sikkim govt. registered travel agent. Initially we were provided one poor , repaired accident met jeep and I complained it then a better jeep was given after 90 minutes and hotels were so poor standered.

I have had no bad experiences in Sikkim, went there 7-8 times, will also go this May 2022, in fact I really want to praise their behaviour and friendly attitude and honesty. Do make sure you contact through known people or through reputable agencies.

শিবাজীদা আপনাকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ এমন দিকটি সামনে আনার জন্য।আমরা শুধু সিকিমে নয়,ভুটানেও অসুবিধা য় পড়েছি।Make MyTrip থেকে একমাস আগে হোটেল বুক করে গিয়ে ছিলাম।সবজায়গায় ঠিক ছিল।কিন্তু পারো তে হোটেলে বুকিং এর কাগজ দেখালেও মানতে চায়নি,বলে ওরা নাকি MakeMyথেকে msgপায়নি।আমরা ওখান থেকে MakeMyএ জানাতে খুব বাজে ঘর দেয়,বলে পরের দিন বদলে দেবে।পরের দিন অনেক তর্কের পর যখন ঘর দিল তখন দেখলাম ভীষণ ভালো।আসলে ওটাই আগের দিন আমাদের দেবার কথা ছিল ।কিন্তু তখন আমাদের পারো দেখা হয়ে গেছে।আমাদের পাওনা খাবার না দেওয়ার জন্য পারো ছেড়ে চিলাপাতায় চলে আসি।সেসময় ছবি তোলার কথা মনে ছিল না ,না হলে..। পুরীর হোটেল krishna residency।কলকাতা থেকে ব্যাঙ্কের মাধ্যমে টাকা পাঠানোর পরেও ঘর নেই বলে দেয়।msgদেখালেও যখন তর্ক করে তখন ভিডিও তোলা শুরু করলে,বলে বসতে।পরে ঘর দেয়।বেড়াতে গিয়ে সমস্যায় পড়লে ঠিক শিবাজীদা র মত প্রতিবাদ করা উচিত।Make My আমাদের একদিনের হোটেল ভাড়া ফেরত দিতে বাধ্য হয়েছিল।শিবাজীদা আর একবার ধন্যবাদ জানাই।এই কথাগুলো মনের মধ্যে ছিল, আজ বললাম আপনার এখানে।

It's very very surprising ... unbelievable...আমার তিনবারের নর্থ সিকিম অভিজ্ঞতা । বিশ্বাস করুন এটা দেখে আমি প্রচন্ড অবাক হচ্ছি । প্রতিবার অপূর্ব অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছে । দাদা খুব ভালো করলেন এই ধরনের সমস্যা গুলো খুব ভালো ভাবে আপনি share করলেন । বাকিদের খুব কাজে লাগবে ।
আমার recommended হোটেলের নাম ও ট্রাভেল agency র নাম হয়তো এখানে লেখা যাবে না ।
সিকিমে এরকম ব্যবহার সত্যি খুব খারাপ লাগছে। এরপর হয়তো সচেতন হয়ে সব বন্ধু রা যাবেন। এভাবে সত্যি টা দেখানোর জন্য ধন্যবাদ দাদা ।।

I also have faced many problems in North Sikkim.......really there r many problems in fooding and lodging ......mainly the North Sikkim tour operators are responsible for these kind of incidents.....they do not do the proper arrangements for the visitors....tour operators are mainly responsible for this

Its quite common there seems.Last time when we visited Lachen we didnt have proper room neither we had warm water.In Lachung we didnt have door lock, hot water, didnt have breakfast. Everytime they put blame on owners and owners put blame on the hotel caretakers. Ultimately we were left with no options but to compromise for lack of options there.

একদম একরকম অভিজ্ঞতার সম্মুখীন হয়েছিলাম ২০১৯ এ গ্যাংটকে। সন্ধ্যে বেলায় হোটেলে ডাইনিং হলে চায়ের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছি। দেখছি অন্যদের চা সার্ভ করা হলেও আমাদের চা দেওয়া হলো না। কারণ জিজ্ঞাসা করাতে ম্যানেজার বললেন যে আমরা আজকে চেক-ইন করেছি তাই আমারা আজ চা পাব না। আমি বললাম মানে? ও তখন জানালো যে হ্যাঁ, আপনাদের ট্র্যাভেল এজেন্সির সঙ্গে এরকমই কথা হয়েছে। তা ট্র্যাভেলার কে ৫০ বার ফোনে রিং করেও পাওয়া গেল না। খানিক তর্ক-বির্তকের পর ওরা জানালো যে ওদের রাতের রান্না শুরু হয়ে গেছে, এখন আর চা বানিয়ে দেওয়া সম্ভব নয়। বদলে ওরা চা-দুধ-চিনি দিয়ে দিচ্ছে আমাদের কাছে যদি ইলেকট্রিক কেটলি থাকে তাহলে আমরা যেন চা বানিয়ে খেয়ে নি। ভাবতে পারছেন?

আমরা 2007 সাল নাগাদ North Sikkim যাই। সেখানে gurudongmar যাবার দিন আমাদের একই রকম অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছিল। সকালে ওরা breakfast দেয় নি। তবে hotel টা ভালো ছিলো। সেদিন আমাদের খালি পেটেই gurudongmar যেতে হয়েছিল। Group এর অনেক এতে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েছিল। ফিরে এসে complain করেও কোনো লাভ হয় নি। আমাদের কাছে টুক টাক খাবার জন্য যে সামান্য চানাচুর বিস্কিট ইত্যাদি ছিলো সেটার ভাগ driver কেও দিতে হয়েছিল!
কিছু ড্রাইভার ও আছে, যারা এদের সাথে হাত মিলিয়ে কাজ করে, ২০১৯ এ আমি একা গিয়েছিলাম নর্থ সিকিম, আমিও ফেঁসেছি এই সমস্যায়। এজেন্ট লেয়ারের ফাঁদে পড়েছিলাম, যখন এজেন্ট এর সাথে প্রথমে কথা বলে পুরো ট্যুর প্লান বুক করি, আমার ৭ দিনের সিকিম ভ্রমণের প্লান ছিলো, সেই এজেন্সি বুক করার সময় বলে এবং ছবি দেখায় এক হোটেলের, রওনা হওয়ার আগের দিন বলে আর এক হোটেলের কথা, সেখানে পৌঁছে দেখি আরেক অন্য হোটেল। যেদিন পৌছায় সেদিন লাঞ্চ দেয়নি, নিজের টাকায় করতে হয়। নর্থ সিকিম এর ট্যুর টা পুরো চেপে যাচ্ছিলো, বলছিলো পার্মিশন পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না, ওটা হবে না, শেষে আমি গ্যাংটকের এক লোকাল এজেন্ট কে ধরি, সিকিম গভঃ রেজিস্ট্রারড সে জার্নির আগের দিন ব্যবস্থা করেদেয়। তার ব্যবস্থা সব ভালো ছিলো কিন্তু ড্রাইভারের ব্যবহার অত্যন্ত বাজে, আমার কাছে কিছু একট্রা টাকাও ড্রাইভার নেয়, মাঝ রাস্তায় নামিয়ে দেবে এমন হুমকি দিয়ে, যদিও পরে সেই এজেন্ট আমাকে টাকাটা ফেরত দেয়। আরেকটা জিনিস খেয়াল করেছিলাম, একি ট্যুর একি থাকা খাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা, আমরা যে গাড়িতে গিয়েছিলাম, সেখানে বিভিন্ন এজেন্টের মাধ্যমে ট্যুরিস্ট এসেছিলো.. আর বিভিন্ন এজেন্ট বিভিন্ন রেট নিয়েছে। কারো ৩৫০০/- তো কারো ৫০০০/- যাকে যেমন কোপ মারতে পারে আরকি।

The problem is the agent's take the money then they start doing anything. The room's we were given in lachung were so bad but the agents don't care. We were given a sumo. 10 ppl in that car and the ppl in that taxi stand in Gangtok they behave like this is how it happens. We as traveller's are not as concerned as we should b, many ppl r travelling and r OK with 10 ppl in a car or with average service so these agent's have no fear. These things need to be reported to the Sikkim tourism, such a good state getting such a bad name. The local ppl r very good but a lot of ppl who r from Bengal and Bihar and doing business there, their behavior is very bad. All in all it becomes a very bad experience.

Amader abar Lachen er hotel ta faltu chilo.. AR Lachung er hotel ta sei tulonay bhalo...but Lachung er hotel er lok gulo amader washroom jete dichilona after coming back from Yumthang Valley. Because they were saying we already were eventually checked out from our hotel after 12 pm. Then I fought with them for the key of the room to go to the washroom or use the toilets. We had the same experience in Lachung... This was the same experience even in the most premium package (ie 10k/night) We went in November 2018. I fell ill. It was so bad... We swore to never go back!!!

আমরা বন্ধুরা 7 জন মিলে 2011 এ নর্থ সিকিমে গেছিলাম। ড্রাইভার থেকে হোটেল, সর্বত্র দুর্ব্যবহার পেয়েছিলাম। অত্যন্ত খারাপ অভিজ্ঞতা। অথচ কি সুন্দর জায়গা। ফিরে এসে ও যাদের সাথেই আলোচনা করেছি, তাদের বেশিরভাগের অভিজ্ঞতাই একইরকম। সেই কারণে স্ত্রী ও ছেলে বহুবার যেতে চাইলেও আমার আর ওদের নিয়ে যেতে ইচ্ছে হয় না।

True..This is a common problem of North sikkim most of the Homestays...I also face this problem several time...I think sikkim Tourism must takes a strict action against those Homestays about this kind of problem facing by the Tourists..

For me it was more worse.the driver was dangerous.my daughter 6 years old was with us.no light, no food, no hot water, my god i was just hoping to reach home safely.i called sunflower travels but as expected they proved themselves as great assholes.
