    Very nice explanation and demonstration. I just got this product for a Christmas present so I am excited to give it a try. I got it for the rims, calipers, plastic trim, and engine bay plastics for my 370Z. I just need to wait until a catch a little bit better weather (warmer) until I do the installation as we are in the middle of a brutal winter this year. By the way, that "Curveball" brush looks really nice for doing wheels. I was on the fence about buying one of those but after seeing it in action on your rims, that has definitely swayed my decision to purchase one of those. The factory rims that came on my Z look fantastic but they have a twist in the design of the spokes which are awkward to clean. The curveball brush looks like the perfect solution to cleaning them more quickly and efficiently. I keep that car super clean (not a daily driver, always garage kept, and never driven in bad weather) so even though the curveball is probably much softer than a normal wheel brush, that's perfect for the amount of agitation that I would need.

      Love the Z’s I miss my 350z. As for the curveball brushes it’s perfect for maintaining wheels. I use mine just for wheel cleaning and I find it very practical. Definitely worth checking it out.

    Great video. I do appreciate the thorough attention to the detail of the product itself and the whole application process. I have just picked up this product for my new wheels which are matte black. I hope you may be able to answer a few short questions for me before I begin the application on my new wheels.
    1. How has the product held up since you've applied it?
    2. Was there a specific flash time to wait before wiping down during applying the coating?
    3. Was there any discoloration to the matte finish after application or cleaning? (That's my worst fear)
    4. What CarPro products are recommended to use for cleaning?
    5. After several months and cleanings later, do they still clean as easy and look as good?
    Thanks a lot, I'm saving this video for reference when I start the process.

      Thanks!
      Product is just starting to show signs of deterioration after almost 2 years of application so I’d say It held up well.
      Flash time will depend on your temperature and humidity. But it does flash quick and it feels tacky
      No discoloured finish the wheels are perfectly fine.
      Carpro recommends to just use their car shampoo (reset) and once in a while also spray some iron x to resolve iron particles. You can also use any wheel cleaner of your choice.
      Wheels are definitely easier to clean however since the coating now is slowly fading I will be transitioning to just spraying Gyeon Wet coat to my wheels after every other wash, as I find it to be just as effective as an actual coating with less longevity of course, however i don’t enjoy coating wheels. It’s not worth the return in investment imo.
      Good luck with your project!

      @@DetailProjects thanks for the information and the update on the product. I kinda see the return on the investment in the product if one or two coats lasts 2 years with average daily driving. Even more so if the coating itself didn't crystallize after 3 months of being opened, but we can't change that unfortunately. I'll be careful to watch for the quick flash time and wiping off immediately.

    Can a car be driven immediately after an application? As in will heat and driving itself damage the coating? Also, how much to wait before applying some type of topper ? And lastly , how would the cold weather influence the installation ? Thx ...

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wouldn’t recommend driving the vehicle right after, I would wait at least 6 hours before driving and applying any toppers.
      Installing in cooler temperatures will increase your working time and Decrease curing time.

    I can't find where they say what not to use on this coating for maintenance. In other words, once the coating has been on there a few months, and you really want to clean the wheels, are there any chemicals they say not to put on there? For example, before I coded my wheels I used dark fury to clean them with. But I haven't used it since because I don't know if I can with the new coating. Thanks

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The coating is chemical resistant and will hold up to any wheel cleaner for the most part ( haven’t tried it with acid wheel cleaner). You should be fine to treat your wheel the way you did without a coating. The coating essentially will make it easier to clean Your wheels. If you maintain your wheels frequently you can get away with just car soap and maybe some iron remover every other month depending how much you drive. Mind you this coating is only good for about a year so don’t stress about it

    How is the coating holding up 6 months later?

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Holding up great 👍 still repelling like the first day of applying and great self cleaning properties going strong, nothing sticks to the wheels!

      Thanks for the update! Do you have a plan for when that coating starts to fail? I wonder about reapplication being as you can’t polish matte

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      In terms of reapplication I would do a wheels of preferably deep clean, DECON with some iron remover and tar If needed and then just apply the coating
