I always watch youtube race videos for pre race motivation and this is exactly what I needed before my 3rd London marathon and my 19th and last marathon (probably) it doesn't get any less nervy and I am feeling it atm. Just seen this for the first time. This is what the London marathon is all about. Congratulations. It was my first London last year and i ran for the North Devon Hospice. I was tearful as I crossed Tower bridge.
Ryan, I absolutely loved that. Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Your Grandparents would be so proud and you should be too! I ran 2021 (had forgotten about that shower until I watched this - I’d just finished then and it wiped me out!) am running 2024 now too and blogging it. I have some pretty ruined knees so doing it for all of the people who may be worried about injuries keeping them from doing it!

Thanks for the comment Steve. I've come a long way since making this video and you're right, sometimes over-planning and over-thinking is worse than having no plan. The best thing about running is that is accessible to all as a sport and its almost free. Good luck in your training.
This is incredibly inspirational.... 1 year of hard work resulting in the London Marathon... it's the days, the miles, the mornings, the weekends, that nobody else sees, all that constant discipline to get after it makes the success even sweeter.... amazing stuff!! 💪💪

I have run 10 marathons and will be running my first London in 2022. This is the best video I have seen that embodies the ENTIRE marathon journey. The race is the pinnacle but all the runs leading up to it ..... in the rain, the snow, the heat, etc. is truly the amazing part! Congrats to you!

Absolutely brilliant. I loved every minute of this video, and I have to admit I teared up when your daughter put your medal around your neck. I will be running this year for Children with Cancer UK in honor of my now 5-yr old son overcoming cancer when he was 3. I will look forward to him hanging the medal around my neck in 50 days.

Thanks Adam. The bag at the end is your kit bag, you can put whatever you want in it for you to use at the finish line. Because of the Pandemic we had to drop it at the Expo and it was taken for us to the finish line to collect. In previous years they dropped it at the start line when they arrived. I put more than I needed in it. My advice, just pack what you'll actually need like food :) Good luck, it's a great event.

Hi Helen. First, congrats on having the willpower to sign yourself up. London is the best event ever. Carrying the gopro has become 2nd nature to me as I train with it aswell so I'm completely used to it. If youre not used to carrying anything then I wouldn't recommend it. How's your training going? Have you tried carrying a GoPro over 10 miles yet?

Carrying the gopro has become 2nd nature to me as I train with it aswell so I'm completely used to it. If youre not used to carrying anything then I wouldn't recommend it.
