- Often Called ‘The Dhing Express’, Hima Das is a 19-year-old Indian sprinter hailing from Assam. Holder of the current Indian National Record in 400 Metres with the timing of 50.79s, she also became the first Indian woman and the first-ever Indian athlete to win a gold medal in any format of a global track event at IAAF World U20 Championships when she clocked a speed of 51.46 seconds.
She is a living testimony of the transformation of austerity to triumph through the means of exhilarating dedication. That's my school in JNV, Dhing ! My teacher Haque sir gave her that push/ guidance. She visited our school with other children from the nearby villages. We knew Hima since then!! So so proud of Hima ! And more than happy to see that she never fails to mention about our sir !!❤️❤️❤️
