    Also Ben, I have been watching you for a while now and though I don't always agree with your opinion, I can't imagine how you do this. You are probably the hardest working TH-camr I have ever seen. May goodness. Your video production is great but your content is relentless. Congrats on the beautiful family. Your daughter is going to see your work ethic and emulate it. That's a gift she will appreciate when she takes on the working world. Just giving you your flowers bro. Great work.

    Test drove one today and it was fun. The fact that you can get a check engine light in the first 5000 miles is completely unacceptable. I don't care what they say about a "software glitch." It is wild looking at you drive this beautiful new car with the check engine light shining in the center of the screen.

    Oh god the travesty of having to turn a key without a button. With all due respect, im so happy i grew up in the 90s right before the internet really took off. People continue to remove interactions from their lives. No block buster with the family, just click some buttons. No playing games with friends, just get online. Its like a quest to remove as much attention and 'inconvenience ', so that you have that much more time to use the internet. Living in the moment and appreciating little things is outdated apparently

      @@ZACH_95_ I'd take it a layer deeper that cars don't feel as connected as they used to with all the decomposing rubber on all of the joints and input points of information for a human to interface eith cars. It started in the 90s if you ever drove a 1960-1990 manual trans in the mid 90s+ you cant "feel" syncros and gates in a shifter. You cant "feel" a rock you drove over through the steering wheel. And now, you can't feel that rock through the seat or floor. If you want that sensation, drive a sim. Ineos represents people sick of screens, menus, and subscriptions for a car. I am personally pretty much done with the new stuff being made and sticking to powertrain swaps keeping old, but good cars on the road. Best of both worlds. 😂

    I have had my Grenadier since April and I absolutely love it more every day. It doesn’t drive as good as a Cybertruck, it doesn’t have the top off capability of my Jeeps, but there is just something intangible that draws me to it whenever I go to my garage and it is always my first choice to go anywhere.

    Your are fortunate to have a dealership in your area. In my case, 5 hours a way was a deal killer for me. You may know this but in case you don't, you can clear the check engine light with a cheap code reader and it won't come back (for a while). The voodoo around keeping it from coming back seems to be removing the key from the ignition when refueling and not topping off. It only happened to me once in 2500 miles. The wheels were a nice edition.

    Hi, weirdly I own both a grenadier and a bmw motor bike and as you know there’s a lot of bmw in the grenadier . Both came up with error codes at similar times . Took them both into respective dealers and they carried out full software updates , both now perfect .
    REMEMBER TAKE BOTH KEYS TO ALLOW DEALERS TO FO FULL FACTORY RESET. You’ll need to tweak a few of the settings inc klm / mph and litre / imp gallons or US gallons of technician forget . But then you’ll be sorted Ben.
    I’ve had mine since June 23 and I’m amazed by the build quality . You can definitely tell its design / engineering comes from Magna (they build the G wagon for Merc ) love it to bits. You’ll also find they are pro active in improving every fine detail and you’ll no doubt have a few more service bulletins that they’ll upgrade in the background .
    All Grenadier owners should check fuel recording set up ,bizarrely I had a 1st edition Merc ML 270 in 2001/2 and it’s set up in US gallons not UK gallons.

      Toyota is scamming the US a little by simply branding that “Land Cruiser” and creating the impression that the legend is returning to your market. THE current Land Cruiser is the LC300.
      20 years or so ago, Toyota nailed a strategy to develop a smaller, cheaper, more everyday model from the previous generation Land Cruiser platform and called it a Prado. The Prado strategy has been brilliant and it has been a damn good vehicle and sold really well into a true crossover market with excellent road manners, genuine off-road ability.
      However, if you want the larger size and capability, the LC300 costs about 50% more (for the off-road version but more again if you want even more luxury levels) the Grenadier is more in line with LC300 or, if you’re really hard core, a 70 series Land Cruiser that was the pinnacle in the 80’s but still sells well. It costs about the same as the higher spec Prados but you’ll spend a lot more on it to be truly comparable to Grenadier or LC300.
      In a market that sells all three Toyotas , nobody calls Prados Land Cruisers. If you did you’d be shouted down with responses like “Mall Crawler”, “Shopping Trolley”, “School Bus” by people who will even concede that they are very good off road.
      The Prado should sell really well in the US because it is really good but it’s not an LC300 and 50% more dollars for a Grenadier is about right.

    • @stevehinkley1530
      @stevehinkley1530 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure where you’re getting that figure. Comparing equivalent trims and options, the Grenadier is maybe 14% more. Plus solid axles, and built on a drivetrain platform that is well proven. The new Toyotas are already facing some real issues.

    • @ElderStatesman-pi3lc
      @ElderStatesman-pi3lc 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No way - a First Edition is the comparable trim - my Toyota dealer said with their markup and mods to get more clearance, wheels and plates would put me over $100k on the LC - the Grenadier is comparable, if not less

    Big problem with these sort of vehicles
    At the end of the day one is just driving to the store or whatever
    When the novelty wears off then one just doesn’t want to deal with the nonsense and the lousy gas mileage
    That is why the 4Runner is so successful it will do most of what this does but still functions as grocery getter and no need to wonder when the check engine light will come knocking again
    Enjoy😅

      @@magnoliap5824 not really terrible for a naturally aspirated V6 truck
      For example the Toyota Highlander V6 with 8 speed wasn’t that much better
      The point is it operates a normal “car” every day while still being capable
      The ineos puts off-road capability first like an old defender so all this compromise is baked into it
