Not a snorkel, not water proof. What you're looking at it a raised air intake to keep dust out. It comes standard with 33 inch tires, but can take up to 35 with a 2 inch lift and a very minor mod to the front part of the front wheel well. The Grinadier is not a rock crawler but still had great articulation. It's a purpose built overland wagon made to last a long time. These things are awesome. Way better than the original old school Defenders, which although tough, are wrattle trap farm trucks that happen to also look cool. There are pros and cons, but overall, well done.

Thank you for the video, but……….. when you focus on switches and the “tool belt” and don’t acknowledge the robustness of the frame and the cardon front axles and full floating rear axles, high pinion clearance…….. then complain about the price it demonstrates that you not only don’t know what the Grenadier is it shows you don’t know what your jeeps lack. Watch “Dirtbox Overland’s” review and watch Ronny Dahl’s series of not review but driving, modifying and touring the Grenadier. $76,500+- gives you everything, anymore is junk that doesn’t advance the purpose of the Grenadier, heated seats pfufff.

Great vid. I’d love to know real world mpgs with it loaded like that. Not 55 mph on a flat highway. Mix it up- stop and go, highway at 70 mph in the mountains, low range crawling, high range dirt roads. Given the not huge fuel tank and rather poor EPA numbers before an mods or loaded, this would be extremely useful data to have. Maybe a future vid?

You seen anyone give numbers modded with RTT, winch and stuff all over the outside? I’m guessing 14 or maybe even slightly less since EPA is 16. Those are only diff locks, wading, downhill descent, aux power - stuff you only touch a couple of times in any given run, and basically while you’re stationary - you don’t want those junking up the main control panel - that would be TRULY overwhelming and you would have to have baby buttons to fit them all together. That’s one of the problems with the stupid Doug review - he acted like you would be flipping wading mode on and off like your audio volume. It’s rarely engaged, so it’s out of the way - simple solution.

Just want to know... will the Grenadier keep going with a bunch of stuff is inoperative? Like, will it still start up and run as long as there is water in the radiator and oil in the pan..??
All the modern nanny functions are there to alert the operator, but not shut down the vehicle ?
I've crossed the Sahara and last thing I want is a vehicle to stop working with some kind of electrical software glitch.
Has it been built for rugged mining duty? Ranching in Brazil? Peacekeeping in some $hithol3.?
Don't want a "Limp Mode" to kick in because of some emissions malfunction.

I’ve seen vids on this where the front suspension doesn’t extend much better than an IFS one. The cost of this is a bit more premium, but it isn’t out to lunch if r the quality / longevity is there with electrical and power train. Compared to a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, this isn’t a big leap above the MSRP. It is a big jump vs 4Runner, but maybe not as much with the new 4Runner TRD Pro / Taco Trail Hunter (everything is so pricey these days). I did get to see this in person at the Sportsman show in Ontario, and the cabin is pretty neat, but there were some things that made it a little less impressive / less desirable. For the record, I have a 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road that I bought new 2 yrs ago ($52,500 before all other fees), and spent a good amount of cha-ching to get it where it’s almost done. Rough numbers, which includes some things I shouldn’t have bought is about $25K (roof rack, roof top tent, steel front bumper with winch / light bar, skid plates, power station, 12v fridge, tires, rims, SwitchPro, hatch ladder, etc.). I think some of that cost would be reduced with a vehicle like this, but obviously there is still a gap on my 4Runner purchase.

    • @dadventuretv2538
      @dadventuretv2538 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

Comparably equipped it’s a more than a Gladiator Rubicon. The Rubicon you are referring to has all the luxury bells and whistles, which the 82K Grenadier does not. All in with all the essential offroading mods and similarly equipped features the Gladiator Rubicon is still cheaper (that is with an Alucab Canopy) and has more room. Grenadier is super cool, but pricey (everything is an option on the base or get the Trialmaster and it starts more expensive) and less space compared to any mid size pick up with a cap. Also can add a camper (like the Alucab or Harker or GFC) to a pick up and there is no comparison. Just look at how full the back already is and it’s not even packed for a trip. He still needs lift and wheels and tires (the ground clearances on stock tires is not good for wheelbase length) and a sway bar disconnect (stock flex is not that good, especially for a solid front and rear vehicle). Also will need to move the spare so as to fit with the ladder with 35s (apparently there is an aftermarket mod for this), not sure if a 37 will allow small rear door to open let alone fit with ladder bc I just have not seen one yet on 37s. Better than a Wrangler for overlanding, worse than a Wrangler for wheeling, worse than a Gladiator for overlanding, I assume should be a bit better for wheeling just because still not as long wheelbase, but remains to be seen- Gladiators wheel pretty well. I think if I were going Grenadier for overlanding I would do the roof conversion that Alucab sells for it. To me the ability to have everything, including getting to your sleeping quarters, inside the driving space would be the main benefit compared to a pick up with a cap and RTT or camper where you have to get out. It would be like an old VW bus on roids. LOL. i have no idea of the cost of the conversion though.

It's a nice upgrade on my 2009 Defender 110, particularly the larger diesel and auto.
However, there are too many electronics for my liking.
Other criticisms I have seen are that there isn't enough ground clearance and the traction control seems inferior to Land Rover's.
It doesn't need bigger tyres though. They would just ruin the braking and fuel economy. Here in Australia, a 900km-plus range is essential.

It seems to me that the screen turned out to be uncomfortable. The light falls on him. It was necessary to make a visor. The text is small and hard to read. Especially while driving. The data is located separately and is not clearly separated from each other. There is a lot of unnecessary information on the screen. The readings of the tachometer, speed, current gear, lock, steering angle - all this should be in front of your eyes. Menu control via a rotating wheel is, in my humble opinion, an extremely inconvenient option. If they began to imitate aviation ergonomics, they had to continue further. To abandon the touch screen and joysticks and build navigation in the same way as it is implemented in an aviation computer and in ATMs - through side buttons with dynamically assigned functionality. And make the screen more contrasting (OLED).

I think it’s an awesome vehicle but definitely not enough ground clearance, for off roading for example the Ford bronco raptor with 37 inch tires that vehicle is tall enough to get through pretty much anything I prefer a little bit more ground clearance but that’s a good example of something from the factory that has plenty of ground clearance being an owner of 14 jeeps and the jeep 392 and Ford bronco raptor I have plenty of experience, but I think the grenadier is a very neat vehicle, definitely can be modified, problem is where do you get parts let alone dealer support and dealer service unless you have a dealer local there’s only a few in the United States, I am hopeful that this vehicle gets a large dealer Netwerk going soon and hopefully there’s some good aftermarket products for it and I feel that would make this vehicle pretty awesome.

I’ve owned and modified every jeep from 1980 CJ 5 to JL except for YJ. I currently have two 200 series Land Cruisers both well modified. The thing to keep in mind is the Grenadier is not a Jeep it will never be a Jeep. But what it is better in every way than a jeep and worth every penny by virtue of the cardon front axles, full floating rear axle and high pinion clearance not to mention the robustness of the frame and shear payload. Flaws? Reliability track record or lack there of and fuel capacity I.e. range.

So there's a thing called practicable... And the grenadier is built around that. Most all of the rest of the world doesn't need 35s to go anywhere and if you need them, it's an easy task to fit them.

NOT A JEEP! NOT A ROCK CRAWLER! Not like anything on the market today. By the way, if you put 35’s on a jeep, bronco or even the new Colorado and ask those vehicles repeatedly to perform on trails that require 35’s without axle upgrades, knuckle gussets and steering component upgrades you will have failures. If you want it to look cool at the mall, different matter.
The grenadier has cardon front axles and full floating rear and high pinion clearance. These upgrades alone are worth the price of admission not to mention the frame, and no one even knows they exist let alone are standard on every Grenadier.
