- As a kid I have always loved this CUTE attraction and around a year ago, I checked out this amazing place to see what it was like! A few months ago, I decided to go up once again to see this 2nd floor of the Imagination pavilion, which still amazes me to this day! The old Image Works looked amazing and I found it interesting how most of it was actually still up there!
This was filmed during my vacation in April 2014. So thanks for watching! I hope you find it as interesting as I do.
Disclaimer - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE ELSE TRIES THIS. There are Cast Members who work here and security who search the area at all hours. There is a high chance that you will get caught and possibly even arrested!
I won't be sneaking into any more Disney attractions or backstage areas, so don't even bother asking, because it won't be happening... We have been to Disney World 3 times since this video was posted and we didn't sneak into any Disney attractions or backstage areas. - เกม
The fact that this is all still here makes me hope that one day Disney will reopen this...the old Image works,found in a darkened location that made it seem like some enchanted cave,was so much better.

The answer to why they closed this is quite simple, Kodak didn't want to pay for a big attraction.
I noticed red tags on almost if not all of the Figment's coloring book pages, Iirc those usually mean Archives is saving them, so not everything will be lost

From what I've seen, There were also some up on the Old BodyWars Queue Signs, Glad some of their history is being saved
I wondered what those tags meant on Buzzy and a few of the MET signs.
Yea, I would imagine that likely stuff like that was (understandably) Saved in the archives.

Buzzy from Body Wars is also most likely now in the archives as he had a tag like that on him prior to his disappearance while only his clothes were stolen but were later returned to Disney by an NBA star who purchased them without knowing they were stolen. Also Disney will often do a rough job with removing old animatronics for preservation as they will have to have their movement systems refurbished/replaced if they end up getting reused.
How did you get up and down without a cast member seeing you in an area that you’re not supposed to be in? This video is truly amazing, thank you for doing this.
While things would have to be updated for code safety (ONE of the reasons it closed, IIRC) .... the fact so much of it even if NOW a few years later being closed off, still SEEMS to be there, gives me hope that ONE DAY they may open it again ... sort of a 2020 and beyond redo of the original's ride's spirit and an updated Imagesworks but still having some things from the original Imageworks too

Bill Cipher you know what? if they really wanted to keep people out, they should totally put one up there and have it emit noises once in a while if they know someone (other than a cast member) is up there. would scare the shit out of me.

I'm surprised there aren't any creepypastas about this place or Horizons.
I’ve got my 5yo daughter believing there’s a zombie up there. Since her first visit was in 2015, I made her see Captain EO. She wasn’t much of a fan, but fell in love with Figment. She has taught herself the song and seen ride throughs of the original attraction. She knows of the upstairs ImageWorks, and the rainbow tunnel. She wants to go there badly, but I showed her the pic of Michael Jackson in the tunnel, then showed her the Thriller video because she was really into zombies at the time. I explained to her that they had to seal it all up, and that’s why no one is allowed up there, because of the zombie.
Wow, incredible to see all of that. Sad that it's not being used.

Dude your brave, I would be too scared of ghosts, killer animatronics (FNAF paranoia), basically all things that I know don't exist. If I heard something I would scream, run, flail around on the floor, and not sleep because I would stay up believing it was ghosts or a haunted spoon or something.
You scared of Freddy and the animatronics too? I'm also scared of Chuckie and his gang coming to life to kill me...
Its Ok! Killer Amatronics Are Fictional (Unless Ghosts or Haunted Etc.) He is just Visiting something that Opened A Long Time Ago And Besides.. Creepypasta is just Make-Believe and is O.K. because everyone likes to be scared once and awhile :)
There is a bunch of people outside and there is still electricity.its not like outlast or fallout where some mutant going to jump out and kill you and eat you up. Besides ghosts do not like to be disturbed they go to places where nobody would come, that's why they kill people or traumatize them. Now security might scare you for trespassing lol.

Sounds like the motor for the rotating platters is still running but a belt has perished so it is no longer turning the platters.
Man...This is so cool, but so sad! I remember having a BLAST in that place! The light tunnel, and the paintbrush canon game were my favourite things in that ride XDD

HAHA! Thanks mate! Yes! The old escalator was actually a good place to sneak up! Not a lot of people know how to do it, but it is rather easy actually!

Last month in July, I went over the rope at Wonders of Life. The doors were locked shut, though it was the most courageous act I've ever done. (but like you I was scared of getting caught)
Horizons1 That's nice to think so and I appreciate what you say! I hope that Disney will return our lost memories of the old EPCOT and RE-BUILD all the attractions and pavilions, especially Horizons!

they are part of the history and charm of the park and if they changed the parks to much nostalgic people like me might go to universal studios or waldamer park in Erie or Hershey park or Kenny wood near Pittsburgh

Man, thanks for sharing this video, this ride is seriously my favorite, the original will forever be in my heart and I even have the imagination symbol tattooed on my wrist. This is one of my dreams/bucket list goals to go up here and walk the abandoned ImageWorks, but, I would most likely never do it, because I'm not sure if I could act dumb if I was caught, nor would my parents let me, but, I have a question: Where is the escalator you went up and down in? Because like, that seems hidden and it seems like a perfect way to sneak into there instead of the stairs, since they're so close to the registers you know?

Yes we use the lounge when we are there
They should have tours of these abandoned areas once in a while. Maybe that will reduce the number of trespassers.

While I do sorta like the current version with Eric Idle and their use of "One Little Spark", Figment seems like a pest in every scene. There have been rumors circling for YEARS that the Imagination pavilion was to go under a refurb sometime soon, maybe including Dreamfinder

Mike Sparrow haha thanks mate! Yeah, I've only just realised that most other sneaking into Disney videos are Americans who do it haha! Before I went up, it was like waiting at a starting line of a race and when the coast was clear, I just went for it ha! It was an amazing feeling to be up there, but also very spooky because I knew I could get caught any second haha! But luckily I didn't and I left as if I had just taken the wrong turning ha! No one even knew!
terrortower2 You're so lucky you didn't get caught. I've seen a couple of videos where the people have been caught and played the dumb tourist haha. I'd love to do something like this but I'd just have the feeling that I would be constantly watched by someone! Do you get a kick out of doing it?

Jonah Richardson Nope, they haven't banned me Jonah! The only ban someone of he or she sneaks into the same place more tan twice! If Disney take it to the next level, they can ask you to take down the videos you post, but they still have no right to do so!

terrortower2 I don't mean to be disrespectful, because I know it's a slippery slope, but they absolutely do have a right to stop you from filming in off-limits areas. It's private property. They could even argue that since their copyrighted materials are upstairs, and not released to the public, it's a violation of that. Further, since it's no longer furnished/upkept/active/maintained/whatever, they could even claim your filming on private property, in un-authorized areas can harm their brand. These are just my thoughts. I really hope nobody has to flame me. (I took a film program as my major, so I'm a little familiar with sticky issues like filming permits/public vs private places, etc...)

Yeah, but not the other attraction half, it's just walled off and blocked by some computers. But it's still accessible if you push on the temporary wall, my brother got yelled at by the snack lady.

Hey Sabrina! How are you? :) This area is now a Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge, which opened in 2016 as part of the 25th anniversary of Disney Vacation Club. I'm just glad that I was able to film this area before it changed. At least they are now actually using the area... I suppose. This area used to be the original Image Works, an interactive playground of the future! It was very impressive for it's time with the technology and visual effects used.

Is this an older video reuploaded? The reason I ask is because I made a video back in May of me sneaking up there myself and I noticed some things in your video that are different than mine. For one, just a few of those bulbs were lit in the rainbow tunnel in my video whereas in yours they're all lit, also when I was up there there weren't as many lights on and those large cylinder screens in the Mirage room in your video were completely gutted out when I was up there in May and it was just a bare concrete wall. The last video I saw with them still there was in darksidedisney's video from 2011. Anyway just wondering?
Hi! I have just looked at your video and it is very good by the way! I can also see that there are a few differences! The lights do seem to be dimmer too, I bet it was spooky haha. I recorded my video a few months ago, right back to around January! Your video is definitely more up to date! I'm guessing that they have made a few changes to save money! But who knows.

Are Cast Members supervising the old escalator in 2014 during summer just making sure because I'am going to see if I can use the old escalator to go up there,anyways I used to go up those stairs 3 years ago but never got busted because I never climbed to the top so I gonna give it an try as long as their are no cast members supervising.
I'm not sure mate! I think they randomly have some cast members up there, in random times of the year! I was just very lucky to not get caught! If you do try, good luck! I'm sure you will be as lucky as you were 3 years ago.
terrortower2 Okay the only problem is that cast members can see peeps trying to sneak up that escalator by the window, I could maybe plan to climb the stairway at night all the way up then exit by the escalator leading to the exit of the building, But sometimes they hire 10 employees at that area, But one day I might be able to see whats really up there at night it looks very pretty and colorful at night!!!

Ryan Villeneuve Have you ever even been to Epcot? If you have, then you'd know this. Odyssey is a COMPLETELY different building that's used for special events and technically not a part of Future World since it's on the border of that and The World Showcase. The Imagination Pavilion is where the Figment ride is, with the two giant glass pyramids on top. Odyssey and Imagination are totally different buildings.
Oh ... we're the Micheal Jackson attraction is. It must of closed this year, the last time I was at wdw was February. Sorry I'm a little out of the loop.
