Then the drink takes a man"..I don't think King could have broken down the alcoholic struggle, as spot on as he did, if he hadn't been one..powerful stuff! One of my all time favorite books is Desperation..I think it's extraordinarily underrated..I think the antagonist was leaps and bounds more intense, scarier, than some of the better known villains, such as Pennywise..Regulator's was alright BUT Desperation was just soooo well written..I did really like your review on this particular one *=)*
Glad you liked my review! I read The Regulators and thought it was so creepy! I bought Desperation right after but haven't read it yet. I'll have to get to it soon!

Read Desperation and please do a review 🙏 Regulator's is based in a parallel universe to the book Desperation, with both having the same villain..HOWEVER with Regulator's Tak wasn't exactly the same villain as he was in Desperation..Tak in Desperation is much much more terrifying..I'm sharing because I didn't know these things about the books but would have greatly liked to have known beforehand..just totally keep in mind that those 2 books are in a parallel universe, not the same one..I read Desperation first then Regulator's and was utterly confused for a bit, especially since King used the exact same character names in both books, but are assigned to completely different characters, EXCEPT for one..I promise I'm not giving any spoilers on the book, it's just info I wish I knew going in..and YES Regulator's is wild! The death scene with the woman in the living room getting shot and only being able to scream through her throat, basically without a head, REALLY stuck with me, in an absolutely horrible way 😂 there were some parts I thought dragged alil but I didn't feel that way about Desperation..they actually did a miniseries on it like 20yrs ago but it's absolutely terrible compared to the book..I *genuinely would love to hear what you thought about it* after you read it *=)*

@@WhytheBookWins Even though I doubt it, it would be cool if they just made another adaptation and ignored Kubricks movie and actually make a faithful adaptation.
@@ericcartman7361They did. A TV mini-series from 1997. Its pretty accurate to the book, but has an terrible direction, acting and passing.
I loved both the book and the movie.
And btw.... Who's a "constant reader" of Stephen King and gets "too scared for movies"????
She lost all credibility to me with that comment. Now I will bail.
