First off… you were 1 when the first Scream came out?! 🤯wow, makes me feel old. I was 10. And when that very first Scream movie dropped in theaters, that was a moment to experience. All great Scream movies but the first Scream is by far the best. My LEAST? 😒 Scream 5. Because they killed Dewey!!! 😩😩😩😩😩 he was my favorite character of the whole Franchise. He had more heart than all of them… except Sydney.
Personally I think that Scream VI had the best ghostfaces until they were revealed. I think Ethan was so obvious and I think the motive could’ve been a bit better. At least it’s kind of a nod to Scream 2 I guess. Even saying that, it is my favourite Scream sequel with Scream 4 a close third.
Scream 2 is still my favourite. The sequence of Gale and Dewey getting attacked in the media block is still my favourite part of the franchise. The finale was an epic smash too. ^^
Scream 3 is one of the best bc Roman is the only one that did it by himself that’s super impressive also him starting the whole thing with telling billy how to start the mind games with Sidney and him and his motive were perfect what more could u ask for a serial killer brother u didn’t know u even had it’s awesome
I was literally about to post this. Roman's motive was way more personal than most of these killers and with both Roman and Jill being the only killers with🩸🩸 relation to Sidney, looking at their motives side by side just shows how bratty and entitled Jill's motive was. Jan Brady ass vibes (she literally, in the movie quotes "Sidney, Sidney, Sidney") whereas Roman (while one could argue that his motive was also, to an extent a bit entitled, he) actually has the door directly shut in his face by Maureen, while attempting to connect with his birth mother, which is a form of "maternal abandonment" this being the moment that kicked off the events that started this entire franchise. Even if that was due to last minute and terrible rewrites. It is as it is and Roman's motives remain on the more personal side rather than the whiny, lame and illogical motives of other's on this list.
All I'll add is that there IS an added layer to the motive in Scream 6. They're not just trying to get revenge for Ritchie's death, they're trying to clear his name as the killer by framing Sam for all the killings. That was not something on Mrs. Loomis' mind.
It's funny you said Scream 6 made you bump up Richie.. honestly I feel that way about the film as a whole.. Scream 6 made me appreciate 5 even more and increased its stock of liability for me. The character development of the core four really made Scream 5 better as a rewatch. We have the same rank but I moved 5 up over 2 now

Here’s how I rank the killers: Starting off with only two I think are just meh characters and I would even rank Jason Carvey(the fake killer from the opening scene of Scream 6) above them. 12. Quinn Bailey. What a shallow personality did they give her. 11, Ethan Bailey. Same thing I said about Quinn goes for him. But he was the killer which was the least obvious(still very obvious!). Now for the 2 killers that I just find underwhelming for a bunch of reasons: 10. Detective Wayne Bailey: he was really obvious as the killer but I did liked him for some reason and he was ruthless. I just don’t like the writing of the character or the film. 9. Charlie Walker. Until Recently he was my least favourite because he is a lackey, but unlike the three I’ve already mentioned, at least he had a personality. And I really liked him before the reveal but after that he was a bit underwhelming… Now for the 4 characters I’m positive on but still have some minor problems with. 8. Amber Freeman. I liked her craziness and her kills but that’s all. 7. Ritchie Kirsch. I liked him as a character and as the main killer of Scream 5, but hated how obvious it was that he was the killer(the most obvious one in the franchise in my opinion). 6. Jill Roberts. I really liked the reveal and was mixed on her motives. She had a good plan but I hated how stupid they made her look by not making sure that Sidney is dead(can be blamed on Sidney’s plot armor but still!). I also think she is the most overrated Ghostface. 5. Roman Bridger. Now for the most underrated Ghostface and one of the better reveals. He’s got a great motive but I didn’t love the execution of the character and how minor his role was until the reveal. The voice gadget is a bit much for me. Now for the for that I actually really like: 4. Debbie Salt/Mrs Loomis. So underrated! Had a great reveal and a motive. I really liked her! 3. Mickey Altieri. I know I putted him way higher than most people’s lists and maybe it’s because I’m a big Timothy Olyphant fan, but I really like the idea of one of the killers just being a Psycho from the internet! 2. Stu Macher. As a 7 year old when I first watched Scream with my cool hot babysitter, I instantly loved the character and for about 23 years he was my favourite. Love how crazy he was! 1. Billy Loomis. I always thought he was just okay but as the years gone by I started to gradually like him little bit more until he claimed the first spot(he was my least favourite from the first four killers). Loved seeing him in the fifth and sixth films.
Scream 6 was so good up until the terrible third act. I view Scream 5 however as the perfect sequel. It was fun had good gory kills, and had a great opening that subverted expectations. I also loved Richie and Amber, I wish they had managed to escape or something so they could be the next killers in scream 6.

Quinn was an annoying terrible character. Ethan was boring and bland and barely had any lines of dialogue just like Quinn, and Bailey was boring too. As usual they always make the killer someoen we just met and not someone who we already met so there was nothing new done no risks taken, and over all the third act sucked

Your video got an immediate like from me when you went on to defend Amber. Everything you said was spot on. I can’t believe how many people can’t believe a girl can stab an old drunk when he’s literally distracted by a phone call. Also, Amber needs more recognition. The fact that she killed an original trinity member instantly makes her iconic. And thank you, her performance was stellar. Like you said, remove her motive and she gives one of the best speeches in the Scream monologue catalog. The actress gives her all with the facials, the the inflection of her voice and how she interacts with Sidney is incredible. She also had a believable switch up when she thought she was in trouble to pretending to be a scared and manipulated teen to being a manipulative psychopath when she thinks the upper hand is hers again. I actually think she manipulated Richie’s obsession with the Stab franchise and convinced him to help her kill people to make his movie. I think she became obsessed with the idea by living in Stu’s old house and she just wanted to kill.
I think in order to make the motive stand out for the newest film would be to have the dysfunction in the Baily family be a part of the reveal. something like the brother resenting his brother for being the golden child and trying to prove to his father he can be just as good, and hints throughout the film just that and mentioning his brother Richie without revealing he is related. not sure about the sister but its a step.
HOT TAKE: I honestly like 4 more than than the original and for now 5 and 6 are pretty close to it too. It may be that I am younger so I don't have that nostalgia. I recently binged watched the entire franchise and then watched scream 6 but the original didn't stand out to me like it did many others. I still think it's a really good movie, just don't have it as an all time favorite like many do.

So, I just have to say that nothing can top the original. The opening sequence, the charisma of ghost face, the visceral fear of the unknown, etc. Gotta say, VI really delivered. I wasn’t expecting this clean of an execution because Neve, our ultimate final girl, was absent. Praying she comes back full force for VII. With that, my list is as follows I VI II V IV III
one thing i think people of younger generation wont understand why OG scream was the best is because there was no real internet, cell phones, or social media like today so when you put yourself in that time watch the movie for the first time its just a 10/10
Scream 2 is a brilliant sequel. The scene where ghostface is knocked unconscious in the cop car is the most intense part of the entire franchise, and Mickey was a fantastic killer because he actually didn’t really have a motive, he was just simply insane.
2 minutes in and so far we match. Wonder if our film ranking is the same. Mine is 1 4 2 6 5 3. But I need to rewatch them all abs especially give 6 a second watch. I think they'll change.

I love Screams 5 and 6 and the killer instinct of Sam is done so well the flurry of Stabs she does to the last Ghostface standing is amazing and her taking on the role of Ghostface to kill the kast one in Scream 6 was such a payoff. I love seeing the survivors flipping the roles and being making the villains scared of them using the Ghostface persona, I loved when Sidney did it in 1 and seeing Sam do it in 6 was amazing. The dynamic between the core 4 especially the sisters really carried Screams 5 and 6 for me and idk hoe they can go on without Melissa Barrera.
Note that I like Scream 6 even though it's actually pretty predictable who the Ghostfaces were. I didn't guess there were 3 I didn't have Ethan on my list but the "dead brother" thing being mentioned so often by Quinn and her dad made it pretty obvious this was a revenge thing for Richie. Even then I love the movie, it's just a really strong film.
When Ms Loomis pops up, it reminds me of her scene in Roseanne where their dad dies & she has to call the family haha. He's dead. Dad died. He's dead. DEAD! DEAD! He's fine, he sends his love
I agree with almost everything you say in this video (I love scream four, jill, billy, 1996 is obviously the best, etc.), the only thing is that I personally feel like Charlie Walker is underrated. Firstly, his kills were crazyy, and secondly, I think the whole "for the girl" thing is so disturbing in context, and understandable when the girl is Jill. Also, idk if this is just me but I was NOT expecting him to be a killer-- I was so rooting for him and Kirby, so when he stabbed her I was SPEECHLESS. Plus, the regret he has after adds depth. Of course, Billy, Stu, Sidney, and Amber should be above him in any ranking.
Great video man, but I would put mickey higher, I loved him as a ghostface and liked Charlie aswell, I'd honestly put the 3 from 6 near the bottom. But I agree, I loved Jill and Amber. The ending of scream 4 should of been when the cameras are taking pictures of Jill and if it ended there would of been a perfect opening into the next film, didnt happen but I agree with you on that, SHE SHOULDNT OF DIED IN 4. Great work, deff motivates me to make movie list like this. But for my movie rankings, I would put SCREAM at 1 of course, SCREAM 2, SCREAM 4, SCREAM 5, SCREAM 6, SCREAM 3. I could litereally go back and forth between 5 , 6 and 3 as I like them all but thought 6 ended was a little weak, and I could swap 4 and 2 because I love 4 but 2 has a special place I think its a fantastic sequel, seeing Sidney traumatized and realizing its Billy's mom coming for revenge on her using Mickey, idk I love it. I think SCREAM is the one horror series that all the movies are actually good, and I always love the mystery behind it.
You’re missing things. “Amber wasn’t lifting him, he was lifting himself” there’s something about putting on the Ghostface costume that gives you power, adrenaline, or whatever it is, but it’s powerful. She could very well lift dewie as GHOSTFACE! As amber, absolutely not. People seem to always neglect this fact. It’s like Michael, he gets power from his mask.

1. Scream - as much as I love this franchise, it's the only one where every kill and character motive males sense. I feel this is why it's still scary to this day - because it feels real. 2. Scream 2 - It practically invented meta with the "Stab" franchise. The opening kill is horrifying and 2nd only to the OG opening. The characters are great and they actually killed a legacy survivor. Mickey is so damn underrated. The whole idea of Debbie Salt is ridiculous, but Laurie Metcalf sells the hell out of it. It was also the best the OG trio have ever been - from Dewey and Gale's blossoming romance to Sidney's PTSD. If the ending were better, it could maybe even be #1. 3. Scream 6 - Recency bias might be putting this higher than it deserves - because I'm more than aware there were plotholes aplenty - but this was also the most visceral, nail-biting adrenaline rush of a movie in the franchise since Scream 2. It also did an amazing job of fleshing out the characters more and making me appreciate Sam as our main Final Girl. I hope it holds up on rewatches because this movie was FUN on first impression. 4. Scream 5 - I really liked this one. The opening sequence threw me for a loop. The kills felt more purposeful and creative than in 3 and 4 - like using the deaths of Judy and Wes to distract all the cops while Ghostface attacks Tara in the hospital. The legacy characters were great, while also leaving plenty of meat on the bone for the newbies. The motive hits that sweet spot between laughably stupid and frighteningly brilliant that is trademark Scream. Sam is the only thing holding this movie back. Thankfully the actress would get much better in the sequel. 5. Scream 4 - there's nothing inherently bad about this movie. It's biggest sin is that the kills are kinda boring. The most brutal one we hardly get to see. The movie is super clever and subversive - but it sometimes thinks it's smarter than it is (did anyone actually think we were at the climax of the movie at the "Stab-A-Thon" party? It happened like halfway through...). There are some damn good moments in here. I particularly love the mail slot kill of Jill's mom, Kirby's trivia showdown with Ghostface, and of course everything after Jill takes off the mask. Charlie being a simp was such a waste of Rory Culkin's potential as a psycho killer. Judy was annoying in this one and I only care about her because of Scream 5. Still, even if it's not one of my favorites, it gave us the iconic line "Fuck Bruce Willis." 6. Scream 3 - if any Scream movie dances the line between bad movie and good movie, it's Scream 3. There is a good movie somewhere in here. The exploration of Hollywood and the idea of imposter syndrome are fertile grounds for slasher movie inspiration. Unfortunately, they're shoehorned into a soapy "evil sibling" plot that sidelines Sidney, has her hearing and seeing her dead mother in scenes that feel like a bad knockoff of Nightmare On Elm Street, and features implausible technology and narrative plotholes. Not to mention a lack of blood. Most of the new characters are a lot of fun though. Any movie with Patrick Warburton and Parker Posey can't be all bad. Also, the Woodsboro movie set scene with Sidney and Ghostface was pretty good.
though a complete stretch, i feel a "better",or at least more interesting motive for Scream 6's ghostfaces: wayne bailey becoming a ghostface killer(one who kills other ghostfaces like a vigilante), due to his son dying in the midst of all the ghostface stuff. the two siblings are still ghostfaces,with the same motives in Scream 6,revenge for Ritchie. the finale has wayne Ghostface kill the other 2,and when he reveals them,it mentally scars him..setting up Scream 7 with him potentially being an ACTUAL Ghostface

Hiw you gonna give stu "the ghost face who did it for fun" but knock mickey down. Mickey is all ready a full fledged serial killer. He only did "blame it on the movies" to have more fun with it. But the guy was murdering before scream and was hired by mrs. Loomis with the idea of a grand finale of his own story.
My order of the movies best to worst in my opinion is 1, 4, 6, 5(5 and 6 are close for me), 2, and 3, but tbh, theirs no bad scream movie, I love all these movies
Scream 1 Scream 2 Scream 6 Scream 5 Scream 3 Scream 4 Blows my mind people give scream 4 credit. Pretty sure the majority of people agree with me considering it did the lowest box office. Opening scene stunk. No scary scenes or tension. Brought in a bunch of new characters and none survived. Scream 2 however is good. The scene where ghost face crashes the car and knocks himself out so Sydney and Hallie have to climb over him to get out of the window is the most tense scene in the whole franchise. Ghost face chasing Gail in the sound studio is the best chase scene in the whole franchise. And Timothy olyphant is a great actor, so he rocked as ghost face.

screma 4 is awsome but my biggest problem with scream 4 is it doesnt feel like anything changed from the start of the movie to the end. there were no returning characters who died, almost every new character died, and the end really didnt have any impact on the story other than being ghostface number 6 and 7 for the shrine. yeah there was some new characters but one of them died in the next movie and the other couldve been introduced in a different one. you could say the legacy characters had some character development or something but theres not really anything new for them to take away.

Personally I think that Scream VI had the best ghostfaces until they were revealed. I think Ethan was so obvious and I think the motive could’ve been a bit better. At least it’s kind of a nod to Scream 2 I guess. Even saying that, it is my favourite Scream sequel with Scream 4 a close third.
Scream 2 is still my favourite. The sequence of Gale and Dewey getting attacked in the media block is still my favourite part of the franchise. The finale was an epic smash too. ^^
Scream 3 is one of the best bc Roman is the only one that did it by himself that’s super impressive also him starting the whole thing with telling billy how to start the mind games with Sidney and him and his motive were perfect what more could u ask for a serial killer brother u didn’t know u even had it’s awesome

I was literally about to post this. Roman's motive was way more personal than most of these killers and with both Roman and Jill being the only killers with🩸🩸 relation to Sidney, looking at their motives side by side just shows how bratty and entitled Jill's motive was. Jan Brady ass vibes (she literally, in the movie quotes "Sidney, Sidney, Sidney") whereas Roman (while one could argue that his motive was also, to an extent a bit entitled, he) actually has the door directly shut in his face by Maureen, while attempting to connect with his birth mother, which is a form of "maternal abandonment" this being the moment that kicked off the events that started this entire franchise. Even if that was due to last minute and terrible rewrites. It is as it is and Roman's motives remain on the more personal side rather than the whiny, lame and illogical motives of other's on this list.

All I'll add is that there IS an added layer to the motive in Scream 6. They're not just trying to get revenge for Ritchie's death, they're trying to clear his name as the killer by framing Sam for all the killings. That was not something on Mrs. Loomis' mind.
It's funny you said Scream 6 made you bump up Richie.. honestly I feel that way about the film as a whole.. Scream 6 made me appreciate 5 even more and increased its stock of liability for me. The character development of the core four really made Scream 5 better as a rewatch. We have the same rank but I moved 5 up over 2 now

Starting off with only two I think are just meh characters and I would even rank Jason Carvey(the fake killer from the opening scene of Scream 6) above them.
12. Quinn Bailey. What a shallow personality did they give her.
11, Ethan Bailey. Same thing I said about Quinn goes for him. But he was the killer which was the least obvious(still very obvious!).
Now for the 2 killers that I just find underwhelming for a bunch of reasons:
10. Detective Wayne Bailey: he was really obvious as the killer but I did liked him for some reason and he was ruthless. I just don’t like the writing of the character or the film.
9. Charlie Walker. Until Recently he was my least favourite because he is a lackey, but unlike the three I’ve already mentioned, at least he had a personality. And I really liked him before the reveal but after that he was a bit underwhelming…
Now for the 4 characters I’m positive on but still have some minor problems with.
8. Amber Freeman. I liked her craziness and her kills but that’s all.
7. Ritchie Kirsch. I liked him as a character and as the main killer of Scream 5, but hated how obvious it was that he was the killer(the most obvious one in the franchise in my opinion).
6. Jill Roberts. I really liked the reveal and was mixed on her motives. She had a good plan but I hated how stupid they made her look by not making sure that Sidney is dead(can be blamed on Sidney’s plot armor but still!). I also think she is the most overrated Ghostface.
5. Roman Bridger. Now for the most underrated Ghostface and one of the better reveals. He’s got a great motive but I didn’t love the execution of the character and how minor his role was until the reveal. The voice gadget is a bit much for me.
Now for the for that I actually really like:
4. Debbie Salt/Mrs Loomis. So underrated! Had a great reveal and a motive. I really liked her!
3. Mickey Altieri. I know I putted him way higher than most people’s lists and maybe it’s because I’m a big Timothy Olyphant fan, but I really like the idea of one of the killers just being a Psycho from the internet!
2. Stu Macher. As a 7 year old when I first watched Scream with my cool hot babysitter, I instantly loved the character and for about 23 years he was my favourite. Love how crazy he was!
1. Billy Loomis. I always thought he was just okay but as the years gone by I started to gradually like him little bit more until he claimed the first spot(he was my least favourite from the first four killers). Loved seeing him in the fifth and sixth films.
Scream 6 was so good up until the terrible third act. I view Scream 5 however as the perfect sequel. It was fun had good gory kills, and had a great opening that subverted expectations. I also loved Richie and Amber, I wish they had managed to escape or something so they could be the next killers in scream 6.

@@benhamilton3671 Worst killer reveal ever, never once was I even wondering who the killers are, or did I even care. Every person that was revealed I was like, oh him too? It was boring and lame. Quinn was an annoying terrible character. Ethan was boring and bland and barely had any lines of dialogue just like Quinn, and Bailey was boring too. As usual they always make the killer someoen we just met and not someone who we already met so there was nothing new done no risks taken, and over all the third act sucked

Your video got an immediate like from me when you went on to defend Amber. Everything you said was spot on. I can’t believe how many people can’t believe a girl can stab an old drunk when he’s literally distracted by a phone call.
Also, Amber needs more recognition. The fact that she killed an original trinity member instantly makes her iconic.
And thank you, her performance was stellar. Like you said, remove her motive and she gives one of the best speeches in the Scream monologue catalog. The actress gives her all with the facials, the the inflection of her voice and how she interacts with Sidney is incredible.
She also had a believable switch up when she thought she was in trouble to pretending to be a scared and manipulated teen to being a manipulative psychopath when she thinks the upper hand is hers again.
I actually think she manipulated Richie’s obsession with the Stab franchise and convinced him to help her kill people to make his movie. I think she became obsessed with the idea by living in Stu’s old house and she just wanted to kill.

I think in order to make the motive stand out for the newest film would be to have the dysfunction in the Baily family be a part of the reveal. something like the brother resenting his brother for being the golden child and trying to prove to his father he can be just as good, and hints throughout the film just that and mentioning his brother Richie without revealing he is related. not sure about the sister but its a step.
The motives of the Ghostfaces in Scream 5 were my favorite.
With Roman it’s not about his job or how much money he makes. It’s about having a family that loves him
HOT TAKE: I honestly like 4 more than than the original and for now 5 and 6 are pretty close to it too. It may be that I am younger so I don't have that nostalgia. I recently binged watched the entire franchise and then watched scream 6 but the original didn't stand out to me like it did many others. I still think it's a really good movie, just don't have it as an all time favorite like many do.

Scream 2 is a brilliant sequel. The scene where ghostface is knocked unconscious in the cop car is the most intense part of the entire franchise, and Mickey was a fantastic killer because he actually didn’t really have a motive, he was just simply insane.
2 minutes in and so far we match. Wonder if our film ranking is the same. Mine is 1 4 2 6 5 3. But I need to rewatch them all abs especially give 6 a second watch. I think they'll change.

First time I've seen someone with the almost exact ranking of the movies as me!!!! Except 4 and 1 for me are exchange but they're basically interchangeable for me :)
I love Screams 5 and 6 and the killer instinct of Sam is done so well the flurry of Stabs she does to the last Ghostface standing is amazing and her taking on the role of Ghostface to kill the kast one in Scream 6 was such a payoff. I love seeing the survivors flipping the roles and being making the villains scared of them using the Ghostface persona, I loved when Sidney did it in 1 and seeing Sam do it in 6 was amazing. The dynamic between the core 4 especially the sisters really carried Screams 5 and 6 for me and idk hoe they can go on without Melissa Barrera.
Note that I like Scream 6 even though it's actually pretty predictable who the Ghostfaces were. I didn't guess there were 3 I didn't have Ethan on my list but the "dead brother" thing being mentioned so often by Quinn and her dad made it pretty obvious this was a revenge thing for Richie. Even then I love the movie, it's just a really strong film.
1 thing I want. A ghostface that lives on to the next movie.

I agree with almost everything you say in this video (I love scream four, jill, billy, 1996 is obviously the best, etc.), the only thing is that I personally feel like Charlie Walker is underrated. Firstly, his kills were crazyy, and secondly, I think the whole "for the girl" thing is so disturbing in context, and understandable when the girl is Jill. Also, idk if this is just me but I was NOT expecting him to be a killer-- I was so rooting for him and Kirby, so when he stabbed her I was SPEECHLESS. Plus, the regret he has after adds depth. Of course, Billy, Stu, Sidney, and Amber should be above him in any ranking.
Great video man, but I would put mickey higher, I loved him as a ghostface and liked Charlie aswell, I'd honestly put the 3 from 6 near the bottom. But I agree, I loved Jill and Amber. The ending of scream 4 should of been when the cameras are taking pictures of Jill and if it ended there would of been a perfect opening into the next film, didnt happen but I agree with you on that, SHE SHOULDNT OF DIED IN 4. Great work, deff motivates me to make movie list like this. But for my movie rankings, I would put SCREAM at 1 of course, SCREAM 2, SCREAM 4, SCREAM 5, SCREAM 6, SCREAM 3. I could litereally go back and forth between 5 , 6 and 3 as I like them all but thought 6 ended was a little weak, and I could swap 4 and 2 because I love 4 but 2 has a special place I think its a fantastic sequel, seeing Sidney traumatized and realizing its Billy's mom coming for revenge on her using Mickey, idk I love it. I think SCREAM is the one horror series that all the movies are actually good, and I always love the mystery behind it.

She could very well lift dewie as GHOSTFACE! As amber, absolutely not. People seem to always neglect this fact. It’s like Michael, he gets power from his mask.

1. Scream - as much as I love this franchise, it's the only one where every kill and character motive males sense. I feel this is why it's still scary to this day - because it feels real.
2. Scream 2 - It practically invented meta with the "Stab" franchise. The opening kill is horrifying and 2nd only to the OG opening. The characters are great and they actually killed a legacy survivor. Mickey is so damn underrated. The whole idea of Debbie Salt is ridiculous, but Laurie Metcalf sells the hell out of it. It was also the best the OG trio have ever been - from Dewey and Gale's blossoming romance to Sidney's PTSD. If the ending were better, it could maybe even be #1.
3. Scream 6 - Recency bias might be putting this higher than it deserves - because I'm more than aware there were plotholes aplenty - but this was also the most visceral, nail-biting adrenaline rush of a movie in the franchise since Scream 2. It also did an amazing job of fleshing out the characters more and making me appreciate Sam as our main Final Girl. I hope it holds up on rewatches because this movie was FUN on first impression.
4. Scream 5 - I really liked this one. The opening sequence threw me for a loop. The kills felt more purposeful and creative than in 3 and 4 - like using the deaths of Judy and Wes to distract all the cops while Ghostface attacks Tara in the hospital. The legacy characters were great, while also leaving plenty of meat on the bone for the newbies. The motive hits that sweet spot between laughably stupid and frighteningly brilliant that is trademark Scream. Sam is the only thing holding this movie back. Thankfully the actress would get much better in the sequel.
5. Scream 4 - there's nothing inherently bad about this movie. It's biggest sin is that the kills are kinda boring. The most brutal one we hardly get to see. The movie is super clever and subversive - but it sometimes thinks it's smarter than it is (did anyone actually think we were at the climax of the movie at the "Stab-A-Thon" party? It happened like halfway through...). There are some damn good moments in here. I particularly love the mail slot kill of Jill's mom, Kirby's trivia showdown with Ghostface, and of course everything after Jill takes off the mask. Charlie being a simp was such a waste of Rory Culkin's potential as a psycho killer. Judy was annoying in this one and I only care about her because of Scream 5. Still, even if it's not one of my favorites, it gave us the iconic line "Fuck Bruce Willis."
6. Scream 3 - if any Scream movie dances the line between bad movie and good movie, it's Scream 3. There is a good movie somewhere in here. The exploration of Hollywood and the idea of imposter syndrome are fertile grounds for slasher movie inspiration. Unfortunately, they're shoehorned into a soapy "evil sibling" plot that sidelines Sidney, has her hearing and seeing her dead mother in scenes that feel like a bad knockoff of Nightmare On Elm Street, and features implausible technology and narrative plotholes. Not to mention a lack of blood. Most of the new characters are a lot of fun though. Any movie with Patrick Warburton and Parker Posey can't be all bad. Also, the Woodsboro movie set scene with Sidney and Ghostface was pretty good.
though a complete stretch, i feel a "better",or at least more interesting motive for Scream 6's ghostfaces:
wayne bailey becoming a ghostface killer(one who kills other ghostfaces like a vigilante), due to his son dying in the midst of all the ghostface stuff. the two siblings are still ghostfaces,with the same motives in Scream 6,revenge for Ritchie. the finale has wayne Ghostface kill the other 2,and when he reveals them,it mentally scars him..setting up Scream 7 with him potentially being an ACTUAL Ghostface

Hiw you gonna give stu "the ghost face who did it for fun" but knock mickey down. Mickey is all ready a full fledged serial killer. He only did "blame it on the movies" to have more fun with it. But the guy was murdering before scream and was hired by mrs. Loomis with the idea of a grand finale of his own story.
It’s very hard to create a rank, all of them are really good. So different ranks are completely understandable.

Blows my mind people give scream 4 credit. Pretty sure the majority of people agree with me considering it did the lowest box office. Opening scene stunk. No scary scenes or tension. Brought in a bunch of new characters and none survived.
Scream 2 however is good. The scene where ghost face crashes the car and knocks himself out so Sydney and Hallie have to climb over him to get out of the window is the most tense scene in the whole franchise. Ghost face chasing Gail in the sound studio is the best chase scene in the whole franchise. And Timothy olyphant is a great actor, so he rocked as ghost face.

screma 4 is awsome but my biggest problem with scream 4 is it doesnt feel like anything changed from the start of the movie to the end. there were no returning characters who died, almost every new character died, and the end really didnt have any impact on the story other than being ghostface number 6 and 7 for the shrine. yeah there was some new characters but one of them died in the next movie and the other couldve been introduced in a different one. you could say the legacy characters had some character development or something but theres not really anything new for them to take away.
Taking a big risk putting Jill Roberts over Stu. The fans are coming for you my dude.
Mickey is one of my favorite ghost face killer's. Especially how cool his motive was

Can’t really rate them because I enjoyed them all but I will say Scream 6 had me like Wow because of how savage they were and all the action. It was really great.
