Great Gray Owl hunting in early morning light

Great Gray Owls (Strix nebulosa) mostly hunt during the darker hours of the day (and night), but during nesting season, when the birds have young they can also be observed hunting during daylight hours.
This particular bird was filmed at a well known breeding area for these birds in the north of the United States. The video was shot early morning, around 05:45 AM. Although sometimes it may seem this is a photo, not a video, because the owl can sit still for an incredible period of time, the feathers blowing in the wind show the movement in the video.
