    I love the harmonizing from
The 60s and early 70s. You hear it a lot in old Disney movies ❤

I love hearing her voice when she sings. I grew up raised in the local theatre and the yearly favorite was sounds of music.

One of the loveliest songs J.A. ever sang. Her silvery mezzo-soprano caresses the poignant lyrics.

I played a really nice sounding concert band arrangement of this song during the last concert that my class had. It's nice and slow and integrates other well known folk song melodies into the music.

Wasn't Fritz Spiegl's "Radio 4 UK Theme", was it?

Yeah this song is about 2 best friends, 1 mortally wounded in battle by the english, about to die, telling his friend to take the high road home to scotland and break the news to his betrothed that his last thoughts was of him and her on the shore of lomond lake (loch lomond)

    • @drrd4127

It is actually a song about the English killing a Scottish soldier and he takes the high road (heaven) and his fellow soldiers take the low road (earth).

I sang a version of this for my classical piece in the Michigan Music Association competition in 2019. I cannot remember the rating that the judges gave me, though if I still have the award info, I could find out.

Lov how she sings "take", not "tak" (-:
Also a very quick change - she says what she's going to sing in an all-white top, then sings it in black!
