Live At The Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, Australia, June 23rd, 1973 FZ, George Duke, Tom Fowler, Bruce Fowler, Ralph Humpfrey Ruth Underwood, Ian Underwood, Sal Marquez, Jean-Luc Ponty
I love the full Overnite Sensation lineup with Ponty and Marquez still on board. I'd love to hear any recordings (if they exist) where Kin Vassy and/or Ricky Lancelotti was there too.
You cant go wrong with anything from Hot Rats to One Size fits all..and live albums dating back to that era. Each one is a masterpiece in its own right. Later albums are great musically in their way and quite complex..(black page for instance), but definitely more accessible and lots of opinionated vocals. Not bad..just different.
Keskin Keskinoğlu most welcome..happy to help a fellow Zappa fan. Start with You cant do that on Stage any more (vol 2), or Roxy and elsewhere, to getxa taste one of the greatest tightest live bands ever...a nice overview of the mid 70s classic Zappa sound. Or if you like studio stuff..start with One Size fits all..and work back towards Hot Rats
How boring my music world would have been without Zappa. Music is the best. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure 👍
Love the blend between Ian Underwood, Jean-Luc Ponty, George Duke and Zappa on their mixed soloing .. such exciting musicianship
I saw Frank and the Mothers of Invention 71 indiana state fair grounds Colaseium Awsome!!!!!!!
this goes insane
Yeah it's insane. I've never heard anything like it and probably never will. The most badass 15 minutes in music history.
Amazing!
who else in the popular world was pumping out live performances of this sound, scope and expertise......great band this one...
So true...! Glad you've been enjoying...
This damn performance. There's really nothing like it.
This brought back some memories. I was at this show and the other 3 shows they did in Sydney that year. Long live the Mothers.
Epic performance epic Solo by Frank
And this is what Frank didnt release. Missing his studio touch but, a great way to start my Sunday. Subbed.
Heavenly live performance. Ponty is amazing.
Unfreakin real, most awesome.

Guitar solo starting at 3:35 sounds played with a violin bow? unreal.
That's because it is violin - Jean-Luc Ponty
Ponty sounds like guitar :d
