My first proper (and new) MTB was a 1998 Trek 7000 ZX with STX-RC/XT and Indy XC forks. It was a stunning metallic gold and I loved it. Used to love flicking through the catalogue and ogling the Y-series full suspension bikes, the OCLV 9.9 XC bike and anything that had a Judy or a Boxxer fork 😋
They get a lot of stick from the trendy mountain bikers for “selling out” but their quality has always been consistently high and consistently innovating, I can remember when they started doing 29ers through the Gary Fisher brand and everyone said it wouldn’t catch on. They even made a XC bike with rear suspension that had no pivot, it just flexed on carbon, I was fascinated.
How much did you get paid to make this promo for the Big-T? I was in the bike biz in the mid-1980's. Trek was (is) a bully, threatening dealers who didn't do what they commanded with setting up another dealer down the street. There's nothing special about their bicycles, these days they're all made by GIANT anyway. The founder was a tough SOB while his son is just an SOB, ruining Greg LeMond's bike biz to kiss-up to BigTex. Marketing-marketing-marketing! They're good at that.
Definitely!, I also worked in a shop in the 00's that sold trek, we concentrated on Gary Fisher bikes as he was a pioneer and we liked the image. I have never really loved Trek but they are a massive company so I thought it was only right to make a video, they have never done anything bad to me, but I cannot speak for the cycle industry as a whole. Sorry they have annoyed you.
some of those bontrager parts are rubbish, although the only clipless shoes I own are bontrager and their bar tape is cheap. I did like the way they used Gary Fisher bikes as an experimental brand, never thought the 29'er would take off.
You are creating amazing video content. I just watched the video, and your video quality is impressive. I am so impressed by your content. I was analyzing your Channel and noticed that you are struggling with video views and ranking. May I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals?

Specialized has more I+D than Trek. I love Trek bicycles. But let's be fair and stick to reality.
