When you say stuff like the player can’t use the ring and their won’t be flying mounts people are going to be disappointed but when I hear it. I think these developers are being realistic which means this mod will likely get completed and released
More people have complained about not being able to become king or create their own faction to be fair :D The ring thing is mainly a lore-choice, but yes flying creatures would be such a huge mess. Just by looking how confused the ai is in the base game I don't want to see a fellbeast get stuck in a gate an making every unit around the gate keep falling when it rotates :P There will still be some amazing creatures though, like the mumakil and the balrog
As a modder myself, they're definitely making the right choice when it comes to flying creatures. The engine just isn't built for it. I'm sure some absolute mad lads will find a way to implement them anyway eventually, but they'll probably be incredibly buggy and it's fair enough to not want that in what's intended to be a very ambitious but also very polished and immersive mod.

But it's not like the devs are just sitting around doing nothing, waiting for a good idea to work on. They must have an insane backlog as it is and it would mostly consist of things that are much easier to implement than flying mounts and will actually add to the Native game. Remember, you're asking them to dedicate a lot of resources to something that wouldn't even show up in the unmodded game when they could instead put those towards features that will make the base game better.

@coob I think in this context "structure" refers more to the hierarchical set-up than the infrastructure, buildings and environment of Mordor. But I could be wrong. As for the book's, Tolkien has the talent of being able to described something in detail but leave it blank at the same time so while giving a beautifully detailed script of Mordor of certain things were left lacking. Sorry if this answer doesn't help.
I am also interested in the rest of the Gondor Fiefdoms, also in regions such es Enedwaith and so on, regions you dont see or dont see much in the movies. This will be so good

what I particulary enjoy about these devlogs is that they are honest. I think it origins from your non-profit perspective of things. You don't need to lie to us, you can simply lay out your decision in what goes in and what doesnt based on your honest review on the pros and cons. I love this, I am not really bothered by the lack of flying or spiders, which personally I thought would be difficult to pull off, but glad you guys chose quality over quantity, because I get the idea that the other creatures and beings will still be spectacular to behold

As a modder myself I just think of how amazing your guys’s team is and how far you’ve come! As a play I think of how excited I’ll be to try it but at the same time (sorry, yes, I have the same critique many do) to be upset about not creating our own factions and becoming a ruler 😂
Just an idea about Mount Doom. If you are good guy faction and have the one ring an option pops up to besiege Mount Doom. If you do succesfully for said time say 30 days the one ring is destroyed. Of course in the meantime you will be swarmed by Armies of Orcs that you have to defend against.

You can play multiplayer yes, and we might add some new stuff to captain mode, but Coop for Story Mode is probably the most interesting thing we will do when it comes to mp
Mount and Blade's gameplay is great. The way you live out war ordeals with nations, either with or against, it's all great. The only thing it was missing was fantasy.

yes if you come from that direction. You could fight your way through the Cirith Ungol, but that would probably be harder as you would need to take Minas Morgul and Cirith Ungol. You could travel around the mountains, but then you would likely encounter the Easterlings or Haradrim on the way.
Will there be Elves, dwarves, etc? I want to get a group of 100 elite elven archers like the Grey Wardens from Warbands mod to just wipe out wave after wave of orcs
Yeah of course, but it's not planned for the first release. The Galadhrim elves might be recruitable in the first release as we got some done content for them. I can't promise it, but we have discussed it a few times. Not sure if you will be able to create an elf or dwarf character in the first release - dwarf seems unlikely.

Another awesome vid, keep up the amazing work! A few questions though, will we be able to play as an olog (similar to one from Shadow of War that retains some intelligence) in the mod? And have you and your team considered creating a game mode where you can create your own faction etc as i know you plan on making that impossible in the main sandbox.
You can play as trolls in Story Mode for some missions only. As you probably can guess their size could be an issue if you want to climb ladders or go through a door opening, so that is why it will only be in some (balancing issues as well). You won't be able to play an olog-hai or other type of troll in the normal sandbox campaign. I haven't played Shadow of War as I regard it as official heresy XD We won't be using much from that game. Not sure about what you exactly refer to. Nah that won't be a thing. It's a thing many request though, so there might be a submod made by someone else.

And shadow of war has great gameplay, not so good story though so I tend to just ignore that lol and olog hai in shadow of war are shown to have the same intelligence as orcs, but I can see why you choose to leave it out as they arent really shown like that in the movies. One last question, speaking of ladders and other siege equipment, how would the npc ologs interact with it? Or would they simply not partake in seiges.
@@Joe-uz7vd I discussed this with John when making this video, and we will program them so that they will focus on the gate and also be able to hammer them down like you can with rams. We still have to decide and perhaps test if we want siege towers pushed by trolls. It would look cool, but gameplay wise they might not be so practical if they just push forward the siege towers and the run towards the gate.

I understand the Fell Beasts, Mumakil I’d imagine would be tough to make but still can be made well, but Fell Beasts? The only way I could see them implemented is if you added them flying over say Minas Tirith, just flying around but not doing anything really. It gives the illusion they’re really there.

The Games Workshop and LOTRO stuff is really good and lore-friendly, I like it :) I'm excited for the Isengard video and don't know how this faction would work. Old M&B and Total War mods only gave Isengard either one fiefdom which was a bit boring gameplay-wise, or they did too much and spreaded the fiefdoms over camps near Fangorn and the entirety of Dunland
Man this is super ambititous, but looks absolutely awesome if you can pull it off. Is there any way for people to help you that cant create models or something like that? Because I guess everybody would like to see this release rather sooner than later

Mordor's structure is kind of a blank spot in Tolkien's universe. That's why fan-made interpretations are so fascinating. Looking forward to yours.

Yo when it come on console.. will we be able to experience mods this time around.. would be pretty cool to start getting mods on console for more games now.. not only that it would draw much more attention to the game...

How are the mod tools for bannerlord compared to warband? Just curious keep up the great work ☺️.
far far better in every way :) Still a lot of crashes in the scene editor, but it is early access of course
