The Spirited Man is an unlimited series about the spirited man or woman who lives inside all of us (and fixing things).
ABOUT VAN NEISTAT:
A pioneer in digital filmmaking, Van Neistat made his first internet video, The Holland Tunnel, in 2000. He went on to collaborate with New York City artist Tom Sachs, directing a series of short films shown at the Guggenheim Museum in Berlin. Van has since directed dozens more films for the Tom Sachs Studio. In 2010 HBO aired The Neistat Brothers, an 8-episode series of short videos made entirely by Van and his brother Casey Neistat. Van Neistat’s directorial debut feature, A SPACE PROGRAM, co-written by Tom Sachs, premiered at the 2015 South by Southwest Film Festival and opened in theaters nation-wide in spring, 2016. In 2018 Neistat Directed the short film Paradox Bullets, co-written with Tom Sachs, narrated by Werner Herzog, and starring Ed Rushca. Neistat has written and directed commercial projects for Nike, Hurley, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, J. Crew, Twitter, Sleepy Jones and Frances Valentine. His work has been exhibited in museums throughout the world. He lives in Topanga, California.

And this ladies and gentleman is why filming so much of your life is so FUN and how it can be repurposed and republished at a later date. It doesn't matter if one chooses to share it or not, but those fortunate enough to have footage like this, thousands of hours of RAW real-life footage stock pilled can create stunning films of times passed. And what I personally love is seeing the different stages of camera quality, 720p - 1080p, old cell phone, handy cam's. So so nostalgic. I've been filming and documenting a lot of my life now since around 2013 and I can only imagine what gold I'll be sitting on in 20 years time. If for no other reason then to make an edit of it and take a trip down memory lane :) Great work Van - Always loved your work from what I've seen over the years! :)

did I miss something, or did Casey pretty much never mention that "his studio" was also heavily influenced and co-created by his brother? seems like he conveniently left that information out when he gave studio tours.
He said it multiple times, but its actually inspired by Tom Sachs, the legendsry artist who is also their mentor and boss

Ha! It was the opposite for me: tired of the West Coast, I heard the voice whisper "East." 25 years in NYC, now.
“The American Dream,
Is to live in a Dream.”
I resonated with that line as well.
You are great Van. Everyone shows us success in NYC. You show us something different. As normal people, we have felt miserable many times (even some of us, our whole life). Your spirited videos inspire us. Keep going!

Mhmmm I dont know, I rather go to NYC 10 times before I go west. In fact, it is my dream to live in NYC. Not for a long time, but for some years.
Id pick Chicago before LA, for instance. Id pick Mexico city before LA.
Im not american, went there once, for like a month, NY and Boston, and I said: "I could live here"
Is not that its my dream and I have been persuing it unstoppably since then, but I would love to live there. Just one try. I picture myself there. I love big cities. I love not having a car (thats why I dont like LA), I love walking down the street, without pandemic.
The voice whispered, "WEST" to me four years ago. It took me from New Jersey to Los Angeles. The Spirited Man has inspired me on my ongoing path. Best series on TH-cam. Thanks Van.
