    Thank you Brett and Eddy.
My dog recently passed away at the age of 4 months and I’ve been crying and confused and hurt all day and I decided to watch TH-cam to keep my mind off of things for a while.
I clicked on your video and it made me feel better, I’m not crying anymore and I still miss my dog but you made me feel better. So thank you.
I really hope that life goes well for you guys and that you enjoy spending time with the ones you love because you never know when they might leave you.

Noooo, why use pneumatics, when you can use solenoids? (pneumatics use compressed air to drive a cillinder forwards, then the spring in the linear actuator pushes it back. This results in loud(er) sounds when the notes change. Solenoids use electricity to drive a cillinder forwards and backwards, therefore it is quieter than gas rushing in and out of the linear actuator.)

  • @aa-lb4je

As someone who studies sound design, their suggestion in the end makes sense, "rusty" and "scratchy" sound registers a lot of sound on the higher register of a sound spectrum and thus a program where the robot will adjust based on a "scratch" threshold. Although plausible, the results will be inconsistent as these "scratchy" sound tends to share same frequencies as the middle - higher notes of the violin meaning it can only properly function with notes below the threshold. Hope that makes sense.

This video and the comment about the self-playing pianos made me really curious. There actually were some self-playing violins made in the early 20th century. I remember seeing one at the Musical Museum in London, I think it's called the Violino Virtuoso. I'd be super super interested to see how that compares to these modern robots and also just Brett and Eddy's thoughts on them in general.
