    Marty, the flat car with container, fork lifts and Mercedes truck with container were part of the Matchbox Container Port set from 1976 or so.

    • @markeone
      @markeone 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed, the train and truck and the forklift are all part of a set. You use the forks to lift the crate from train to road. :)

    • @dexter1981
      @dexter1981 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i remember playing with that forklift when i was a kid in the late 80s. My aunt back then was a teacher, and she "confiscated" that forklift from one of her student. I never know that it was part of a set.

    • @rene-yvescote3954
      @rene-yvescote3954 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephenscholes4758 Let me educate you on Canadian history. Canada was a French colony within New France first claimed in the name of the King of France in 1535 during the second voyage of Jacques Cartier. Then came the British. Basically Canada was found by to countries France and Great Britain. This is why we have two official language. I found your comment very offensive. I should do some research on other country's history before making such narrow minded comment.

    Very nice donations Marty, Claire is very generous once again! You can add me to the list of people who've never watched Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. Husky was Gorgi's budget line and was later renamed Corgi Juniors in the 70's, they're usually fairly cheaply made and less detailed than the larger Corgi cars.

    Out of that first set you can use the yellow fork lift to move the containers off of the flat car and truck. On the real fork lift like the orange one the steering section tips back toward you so that you can be comfortable driving it. Huskey and Corgi Junior are the same company the Huskey were a little bit lower end cars than Corgi Junior.

    Hello. At 14:50, you open a Husky model. They were made in the UK in the 1960's, and only available from branches of F.W. Woolworth's stores. There were lots of different models, and of vehicles not made by Lesney/Matchbox. They also made models of cars from film and TV, often with cool working features. At the end of the 1960's, the maker of Husky Toys (Corgi/Mettoy) re-branded the line as 'Corgi Juniors'.

    That Citroen was beautiful. The Lamborghini used to be a childhood favourite of mine. There’s such a contrast between the Hotwheels and the Matchbox. Hotwheels used to advertise on TV and were toys rather than models. I think they blindsided Matchbox. Theirs were all American hot rods and custom cars. Superfast tried to make Matchbox similar but better quality and lost much of their scale model feel and detail. The wheels seemed over sized, under detailed and the models built around them. Then they escaped into the fantasy designs with the lurid moving details. It looks like a knee jerk response to the brash newcomer from Mattel stealing the scene. Thanks for introducing us to the pre Superfast models, they are often very surprising. Restoring them and treating them like scale models really lets us see them again through adult eyes. You should do an exhibition somewhere showing how the models started, evolved and ended at Lesney. The man from Rochford may be a good lead. Someone might even have an archive. Thanks for being brilliant and playful whilst bringing these toys back to life. Great work!

    Great channel and make over videos. I too have never watched an episode of 'Game of Frones' oh well, such is the cross I carry. I still have not gotten over missing out on the 'mobile crane give-away' 😠👎
    As Matchbox moved into their 'Super Fast' wheels era, they seemed to loose their crisp lines and great details: Head lights, grills, shut lines, etc, etc. They all look a bit cheap, mass produced volume toys for the mass market? Cheers for now. Regards to that Kevin 😉👍(from Edinburgh, Scotland)
