I'm currently going thru this now😭 my chimney was leaking over winter and moisture just built all around on every floor..I dont have alot of money as I'm on disability so I'm glad I know what materials to know where to start
So I have the spotty black spots, also known as dew point mildew. Simply got a small spray bottle with probably 30% full clorox and 70% water. Shook it to mix it and spray it on the mildew, let sit for 20-30 minutes and wipe off. Works fantastic 👍
I have always been told that mold is an airborn molecule and once you have it the whole house needs to be treated, similar to a termite treatment? What about the rest of the house? If they took an air quality test in the hallway right outside the bathroom would it come back clean, or should it have been treated as well?
We’ve been letting our manager know about our mold issue and she’s been having us clean it. We’ve been cleaning it. But we are tired of cleaning it if it keeps coming back. She refuses to do anything !! And we’re only renters not home owners. Our mold has gotten so bad in our restroom. It’s on our walls and ceilings!! I’m scared to use my restroom or to even try to remove the mold. I am going to ask her one more time to hire someone to remove it or I’m suing her for negligence.
The best thing to do is to hire a mold environmentalist to take a sample and mold report if it does come back with mold then send the report to the landlord and deduct the cost of the report off your rent. then offer 24 hours to the landlord to hire a mold professional, if the landlord does not comply, then hire someone then again deduct from rent. This is NOT legal advice, but what has worked very well for our clients. I would seek an attorney to see if this will be ok for you to do.
yes, its the best solution. But, it needs to be a strong dose. And time. Using a sprayer or roller. It takes time for the bleach to kill the mould partly because some moulds are very resistant. But eventually they do die. You might have to do more than one application. Household bleach is ok, but really you need something more concentrated like swimming pool liquid chlorine. Both are sodium hypochlorite but different concentrations.
You prolly dont care but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Julio Justice thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Do you have face mask to sell to protect me from breathing in ammonia when cleaning for move in/ out services. Not sure which one to buy that’s cost effective. Since I will be using almost daily. Thank you!
My mold came on this winter on barhroom ceiling It would get humid and we didnt open window. Also my vent fan in batbroom quit working. Clean it off and keep window open.
Sorry, but this is to much...I have a house in southern Spain...no insulation and in the winter when we start to warm up the house, the outher walls starts to get a bit of black mould. We use Cillit Bang on a brush to kill the mould and then open our windows just a couple of centimeters to fresh up the air 24/7 and it will not come back. And if, we just add more Cillit Bang...it's just about ventilation.
My apartment REFUSES to clean my bathroom. I promise I've TRIED to get them to. They know our vent is broken. They sprayed bleach ONCE. It leaked like 3 years ago and the paint is coming off the ceiling. My entire bathroom walls and everything is covered! I've tried my damndest but it's taking off the cheap ass paint. The ceiling is legit like the paint is hanging off the top from where the people above us had a leak into our bathroom. Like... I'm so at a loss. It's so gross. I've bought like probably a hundred dollars worth of bleach vinegar like mold remover sprays. They just won't do anything and my bathroom is so embarrassing.... I can't afford a mold remover professionalist..professionalism... and I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for it but like!!!! Idk what to do. Ugh. I'm currently letting my walls soak in vinegar again.... debating on just spraying bleach like insanely and leaving for the day then repainting with a like mold resistant paint. Idk..
With rent prices so high I can't afford to move..... so all I can do is try and fix the problem myself. The owners are basically slum lords which is probably why it's cheap to live here... so if they won't fix it and I'm forced to live here because rent prices have increased SO drastically I just wanna fix it so I feel like safe and comfortable in my own shower/bathroom you know.
yes, bleach is the answer. but, you need the strong stuff as used in swimming pools. its called liquid chlorine rather than bleach but its the same thing, just much stronger. You must be careful with it, so use a brush or roller to apply it. Don't stand right under it, you dont want it in your eyes!! Let it soak and do its stuff. A few hours should be enough. If not, do it again. Then leave it to dry. When you are happy that its all gone, use a bathroom paint but do not be persuaded by anti-mould marketing, it is useless. So long as you maintain ventilation there is no reason for it to come back. Periodic cleaning with bleach or ammonia will help. A landlord is not obliged to deal with mould. However, he may be obliged to deal with the causes if for example there is leak from elsewhere that is causing the damp and humidity. But, if its just you not cleaning and ventilating properly, then its your responsibility. Another thing to bear in mind - just because you cant see the mould doesnt mean its not there. This is why you need to allow time for the bleach to work. Its not instant and the bleach can react with other things so can become ineffective before the job is done.
open window is not enough. you need the air to flow. As for still getting it, well, its in the air so there is always a chance you get it again, but more likely you did not get rid of it properly first time round.
What a useless procedure, where is demolition the whole house coming from, 6 minutes is full video 4 minutes is only precautions, waste of time, can i have my 6 minutes back please. Title is definitely wrong.

The Twin Home Experts thank you very much!!
Do you happen to have a video treating the other type of mold (dew point)?
Seriously
You would probably use some kind of cleaning spray with a scrub sponge or brush (and gloves).
I read online that if there's mold on tile, it can be cleaned with bleach. Is this true?
do not use it all the time...i did it and it ruined the tub finish. attempting to figure out how to fix it now.

I just found black mold behind my shower tiles. I'm devastated. I have to do a tear out and install a new wall!
Sorry, you're having to deal with that. Make sure it gets waterproofed properly.
It sounds impossible but once you get into it it’s kinda fun
Answer: destroy everything
Not always..... Thanks
Great video, very informative. What is the UV fan being used? Can't seem to find it online.

Does mold killing primer do the same job?
it can as long as the moisture levels are removed from materials before YOU APPLY.

Have a great day Eric, this is how you treat the mold contamination that had occurred in this video, we passed clearance too .
That roof looks like it has a lot of leaks
can't hear
What about the source of the leak?
Yes, this has to be solved. this was caused by a roof leak.
6mm plastic?
if that was 6mm thick it wouldn't bend
Not mm, it’s mil - meaning thousandths of an inch.
