The best instruction of how to do tiatoshi that I have seen. Got my black belt in 1976. I loved Tiatoshi but I could never master it. No You Tube back then. How I wish there was. Now At age 79, I can only try it on my 9 yr old great grandson. Works fine on him!
Seriously one of the best channels on TH-cam. I only train BJJ so I have to look to outside resources to improve my standup. Love how short and to the point your techniques are.
Thank you Sensei, this is the first time I have ever heard tai-otoshi described as easy. Until now I never understood where my hips needed to be in relation to uki hips. Parallel to his and not in front. Thank you again.
Thank you so much Sensei and Jack for showing this techniques. I've been doing Judo for 3 months now and I have put into practice a lot of the techniques that I've seen on your videos and no doubt this has made me a better Judoka. Please keep up the videos and thanks again for your teachings! Much respect to both of you.
Sensei, I always think Tai-otoshi is a sneaky technique because you can attack for this technique from different angles, including low stand tai otoshi ( more Korean style). My point is that ... simply start to apply tai-otoshi and if is not working you have/take advantage to rapidly change to the other techniques using the same angle of attacking. A judoka who can master tai-otoshi, can have a big advantage during randoris. Anyway, great video ! Oss.
Yes, you can use it to break your opponent’s balance or get a reaction, and apply the next technique quickly to finish. Kind of like a jab in boxing , then bring the hammer for the finishing blow 👊
@@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931 That's right! Also, in randories, if I can't turn 180 degrees for Tai-otoshi based on action - reaction, than ... I turn only 90 degrees, squad down while I'm pushing Uke's head in front of my face ... and still got tai-otoshi. I love this technique ... and always try to find "space" to apply it ! Oss.
Great video! Poor audio though it sounded very low. It would help if you had a small microphone near your collar or a mic hovering over yall. Just a suggestion since your instructions are crucial as well. Goodluck and thank you for the video
Thanks! Great in depth explanation how to do it, properly! I always wondered how to properly step towards uke and position my feet to execute the throw without tossing myself over, so to say.
One of my alltime favourite throws. Great explaination. But pls consider remixing your audio. Everytime an ad or a follow up video starts my elderly neighbours get hearth attacks all around my hood. :D
I like the way you teach, all beer no foam!
Thanks 🍻

That's probably the best explanation of Tai Otoshi I've seen on YT.
Ty ! Hope you check out some of my others 🤙
Hands down THE best explanation on how to do this. Thanks

You do realize BJJ came out of judo, right?
@@msaret4384 Yes? BJJ schools don't spend much time on standup. BJJ being a derivative of judo doesn't really mean much depending on your school.
Best Description/instruction for Tai O Toshi I've seen. Congrats.
Fantastic instructional on tai-otoshi. Awesome! Thanks
This is actually an awesome way to look at it. Love the detail of the push the head, shallow step
Great explanation of “why/how” it works and examples of setups for the move, especially for advanced players! Very appreciated!

Great demo! You got another subscriber!
Thanked you before, but for me this is one of the best explanations for this throw.
Very useful information! My son MUST to try this)

6:55 that's the perfect momentum to initiate the technique.

Yes it is! :)
That is my favorite defense, my second Judo teacher used to tell me that I was always stepping with the wrong leg and it ruined his throws🤣
Thats a hard one to master..
Тhanks
04:15 why u never want to be in argument while waltzing with a judoka..
tayoh toshe
TAI-OTOSHI(eee)...NOT TAI-OTOSH... Nice technique though Obvs
