    I’m so happy you made this tutorial because I just bought a Hero 3 with a remote wifi unit and I didn’t have no idea how to use it.

    Thanks just got my remote back from having the dead battery Removed and Replaced so this is the first time I was able to actually set up my Hero 2 up.
    One thing that drives me around the bend is the Instructions in the written booklet that I have. It didn't state PRESS and HOLD till connection is made. Which You Did Thanks! Seems to work as it should now! Good Job.

    Thanks, I´m from argentina, and I just bought a hero3 black/surf edition. Last weekend I had a hero3 white and I love it, but black edition is a better choice, so I bought that yesterday, I think it will be in my hand by thursday! Can´t wait! Thanks for your video, it is very useful.

    This video was awesome, job well done. A bonus tip that you showed was mounting the remote to a pole with velcro -- I was trying to think of ways to do this and this idea is genius.

    Hi. Thank you for the detailed video. My issue is - I haven't used my wifi remote ever and its been over 2 years since it was bought. I put the remote on charge but incidentally it showed battery full status and then went into wifi search mode when connected. Once I disconnect, the remote refuses to switch on despite holding onto to the power and mode buttons.
    Please advise on what is going wrong.

    Hello sir! Thank you for the great video! Your videos are very helpful! Question: I tried the same action you show at 4:52... I have a Hero 4 Silver... However, this does not work for me. The wifi turns on, the remote turns on to show wifi is on.. But they never connect. The wifi on the camera turns itself off automatically after about 50 seconds. I have contacted goPro and they are looking into it as they say the wifi should not turn itself off. Has this happened to you? I have repaired my remote a few times but it doesn't fix the problem. Any help would be great! Having to go to settings to connect the remote defeats the purpose of having a remote! Thanks again for the great videos!

    It seems that my remote won't work if I turn on the camera using its own button. It won't work (obviously after pairing) unless I turn on the wifi and turn on the camera using the remote. And everytime I turn off the wifi, the pairing seems to be not working anymore and has to be redone.
    Is it normally that way? :S
    Thanks.
    Too bad the wifi drain more battery...

    The remote does NOT need the key to be waterproof , the key is just for putting it on a keychain , if you dont beleive me Micbergsma has a video about it

      True. There's nothing in there that the key covers except some waterproof plastic.

      I was going to get the 3+ black but I'm going to get the 4 silver , because it is basically the same as the 3+ black with an lcd built in and night lapse and other new features, it will be my first go pro and I'm getting it at christmas , i cant wait

    • @galika.
      @galika. 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** I think you should get the Hero 3+ and save a hundred bucks... Unless you REALLY care about your videos having insanely high resolution and good audio. Hero 4 basically adds a built in LED touchscreen (as opposed to using the backpack), which I don't think will be useful at all if you're using a case. Bottom line: If you really need the new features, get the Hero 4. If you don't, get the 3+ and save a hundred bucks.
