Congratulations to the wonderful Mart Crowley, who passed away this year; I'm so glad he got to see his work Off-Broadway (1968) and the original film (1970) AND he lived to see his play performed superbly ON Broadway (2018) and then the current Netflix movie, which is brilliantly directed by Joe Mantello and acted by a stellar cast, all of whom I am currently in love with! Bravo, guys!! :)
To anyone who see's this, watch this movie. It's beautiful, and very needed at this time. No one in this film is perfect, they are complex and so human with oceans of depth!
I see in the 2:29 Picture we don't have The Actor Laurence Luckinbill (who played Hank). What's so amazing is that if there is one thing that the 1970 version has in common with the 2020 Verison is that many of them were on Soaps. Laurence Luckinbill and Robert La Tourneaux (Hank & Cowboy) where both on Search For Tomorrow while Peter White (Alan) was on All My Children as Lincoln "Linc" Tyler the Son of Dr. Charles Tyler and Phoebe Tyler. Matt Bomer made his Bones on All My Children as Ian Kipling whose Fiancee Sarah was involved with Bianca Montgomery then played The Psychotic Ben Reade on Guiding Light. Is The Fellow in the Glasses Leonard Frey. Keith Prentice (Larry) was on Dark Shadows and some say Collingwood Manor was the inspiration for Foxworth Hall in Flowers In The Attic, while Leonard Frey was in Fiddler On The Roof and Michael Zaslow was in the Play before playing Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light on and off from 1971-1997 who died of ALS in 1998. William Christian who played Derek Frye on All My Children also played Bernard in an off Broadway production as well. Also Tuc Watkins was on One Life To Live.
Also Roger Thorpe's Former Wife (And Love Of HIs Life) Holly played by Maureen Garrett on and off from 1976-2009 came out a couple of years ago and admitted she was Gay who started seeing her Life Partner Janet in 1992.
Yes. I'm not sure but I think he was in The Scene at Julius's when Larry was at The Bar talking to The Fellow he "Flirted" with. Can you imagine how many souls he "healed" and how he helped men feel less guilty about who they were. I'm a Straight Female and I would have loved to have hung out with them.
Yes today was my first time of watching the boys in the band movie and it was good but I was confused at the end as I was expecting a happy ending?? I enjoyed it though 💜
When I think of "Emory" of this Generation, I was trying to remember whom he reminded me of and now I know who. In Invisible Life by The Late E. (For Everett Lynn Harris) Raymond Winston Tyler Jr., had a Best Friend named Kyle Alexander Benton who was a Fashion Illustrator, he would have had "Words" with Alan then in another Book I Say A Little Prayer, there's Skylar Demond Roberts who is an Executive Producer of a local Atlanta Talk Show. Now Atlanta, GA., is the Mecca for the African American LGBT Community.

That was such a powerful film. I just kept thinking about the movie all day after watching it

Him talking about his old friend Douglas Murray was hilarious when I think about today’s gay icon Douglas Murray.
