- Welcome back to more Warhammer lore. In this video we start our new lore series into the Chaos Dwarfs of Zhar Naggarund. We will be looking into their society, where they came from, and their religion. Hope you enjoy the video and make sure to like and subscribe for future content.

The Hobgoblins run their own Empire called the Hobgoblin Hegemony and this was covered in 'Something Rotten in Kislev' for WFRP 1st edition.
I love the chaos dwarfs, they're a far more interesting kind of evil than the fairly overdone and ridiculous "kill everything" of other chaos factions.
You are far better than most warhammer lore channels and deserve many more subs.
I cant wait to see how they will be made in Warhammer 3: Total War.
Mortal empires (or what ever it will be called) in 3rd game will be fantastic. World will be HUGE, and provide a LOT of area to conquer. Amazing!

its so annoying how almost all of the Warhammer and Total War videos are made by people with heavy accents.
Wish they would have done a Felix and Gotrek book in the Dark Lands vs the Chaos Dwarves, would have been schweet!

The Hobgoblins actually have a really old and outdated minor faction called the Hobgoblin Khanate which mostly operates in the Dark Lands but they have also been know to live near Cathay. It's mostly Hobgoblins obviously but they also have Snotlings and Goblars in their ranks
I played Chaos Dwarves in the 90's. I didn't have a lot to choose from. Bull centaurs, chaos dwarf warriors, a few different hobgoblins, and the most disgusting artillery derived by dwarves.
Chaos Dwarves were the direct inspiration for the Dark Iron Dwarves from Warcraft. They have a few similarities ranging from living in a volcanic wasteland, waging war with regular dwarves, and the use of slaves and sorcery. Except the Dark Irons were freed from their corruption and joined their dwarven cousins within the Alliance.
I agree. However, I really hope the Dark Iron Dwarves maintain their identity; I think a lot of Warcraft races tend to get watered down too much, which is a shame as Warcraft is a good universe.
@@dr.strangelove9815 warcraft had a good universe until globalism and activision put their nasty nose in and screwed everything up.

@@DarkMegaPlague Warcraft basically just copied Warhammer fantasy. Warhammer was originally supposed to be WoW, but someone (blizz or GW) pulled out at the last second.
Now that Total War Warhammer 3 is coming out I am so EXCITED to play this race.. To actually be able to play these Dwarves has been a huge goal of mine.

Hashut, god of labor, duty and diligence. He made the Chaos Dwarfs his own through slavery, hiding none of his intentions as he ensured that work got done. Under his tutelage, they achieved technological progress beyond that of even their orderly kin, able to make the Skaven of Skryer blush with envy. All of Chaos come to Hashut’s worshippers for they know the mechanical efficiency of his dwarfs and know better than anyone how devastating those machines can be. Keeping a lid on them, he refined their cruelty and ensured that they achieved notoriety with all whom knew his name.
Even the Great Horned Rat dare not trifle with the Father of Darkness. He encourages experimentation for ignorance damns progress, and knowledge leads to darker paths than even blind faith

Exceptional video! Chaos Dawi are probably my favorite wh faction. Can't wait for Hashut video. About reproduction , how do beastmen increase their numbers?
Eventually I will get around to Beastmen as they are one of my favorite factions, but in the lore there actually are beast women. We don’t know much about them, but in older lore at least the beastmen also use captured females to....propagate their species...I know messed up.

@@@PetrucciIbiza Cygors are unnatural mutants from what I've heard and minotaurs reproduce from female minotaurs but from what I've heard, they're rarely seen and physiologically are almost the same as male minotaurs. The beastwomen from what I've heard (plus a bit of logic) can vary just as widely physiologically as regular beastmen with some being gors and others being ungors. Beastmen can also reproduce using human females.
40:00 Well, you asked for corrections, so a year late to the party and have nothing to do with the actual lore: a republic is a very specific from of representative democracy, in which people elect representatives to a body or bodies responsible for controlling the state, most regularly in the form of one-or-more executive leaders and the members of a larger legislative body.
In the Roman Republic, the first republic, what the people got to vote on was who got promoted to government (the Senate), when they were promoted in speaking order and responsibility within that body (the highest rank of which were the two executive consuls more directly in charge of the state), and the tribunes of the Plebs who were all reelected yearly and could block anything the people really hated, as each of them had their own personal power of veto over anything the Senate or any Senator ever said or did. Even when the nation had shifted to overall autocracy, even by 13th century the core of this system was still in place, it just had an autocrat in control of it, completely ignoring the people's voting or lack thereof when it didn't suit them, promoting or firing people at will, without tribunes of the plebs to stop them.
What you're talking about here is an Oligarchy, a body or organization in command of the state, rather than an individual (Autocracy) or the populace at large (Democracy). Specifically a Theocratic Oligarchy, or a Theocracy, under an order of priests who make decisions as an organization (another way to explain what oligarchy is, on comparison to the entire populace making decisions democratically or a single person making decision autocratically).

Dwarves do not use magic, they have no use for it, but they can channel the raw primal power of the elements and arcane into the metals weaving them during the forging and hammering them in place on their anvils, all done by master runesmith, but the metal at its core is where things get interesting, while not all metal the dwarves work with are naturally infused with magic they are in fact an amalgamation of volcanic mineral being fused together, this is the reason why dwarven-steel never seem to rust, nor lose its edge, but things get even better when actual enchanted alloyed is used along with their runes, I have seen runic axes cut down a giant, a shield and armor withstanding bot spellfire and direct blow with not even a dent or chip to its paint coating, .......
But Duergar crafted arms and armor,....better you stay clear of them as you would a dark elves torture chamber, yes they bare the same quality as their noble kin, but the price of using one of them is not worth it, this I tell you now..."
Excellent video but I don't think you mentioned that the sorcerers become petrified into stone due to their continual use of magic.
Today I ordered the reprinting Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl team and now I'm as giddy as a child the night before Christmas.
Ignoring my over excitement, is there any web page that contains all this information so I can prep, after building, the fluff for my team?

Any thoughts on why the Chaos Dwarfs never really took off? To me they have a backstory of tragic loss and survival, cool lore, a varied and interesting army. It seems they should have been more popular.
I’m going to talk about this a little in my next lore vid, but there original lore had them as followers of Korne, but they used magic and then the artwork itself looked pretty unappealing plus I believe that you had to convert most of the models from other races so in all it was expensive to play and some of the demon engines never even got models.

What do chaos dwarfs think of their normal dwarf brothers in the mountains? Total War is really loyal lore wise, so will I be able to trade and become allies with normal dwarfs when I play Chaos Dwarfs in total war warhammer 3?
They hate their kin and the Dwarfs are ashamed of them. The Dawi Zhar have special rituals they perform when they capture a dwarf and they are quite horrible as they are seen as great sacrifices to Hashut.

I can't find any videos on the elves or the empire, or chaos. are you still working on them? also are the events of vermintide game based on a book or is it its own story within the end times story?
Vermintide is it's own story line that takes place in the End Times. As far as lore videos are concerned I am strapped for time these days but I work on the scripts when I can and hopefully will have some more uploaded soon.

That would be interesting. Not really sure which would have the advantage. I would probably think the Dawi Zhar as they have some insane artillery and ranged support even better than standard Dawi.

What do chaos dwarves eat? Since they obviously cant grow normal crops in their region. And their slave force? Perhaps slaves farm livestock or something along those lines?
They have a lot of greenskins so I'm guessing mushrooms and swing and snotling meat.

Great video, definitely the most metal race in warhammer! But, if the lands are basically dead, what do they eat? And are they boozers like their lame cousins?
That question is from what I've seen a popular joke as the only thing their would be to eat would be slaves, but then what do the slaves eat?, and then there's the fact that all the water in there land has been pumped full of every horrible chemical known. And unknown so who knows.
I guess they pillage or import everything. Or compost the dead slaves to grow mushrooms.
I would assume Chaos Dwarven Ale... not as tasty as regular Dawi ale.
@@alexandersilady4751 reminds me of Dragon Age, where the dwarves are experts in surviving underground of course, but their ale is actually awful .
Quick question what's the difference between this universe and the universe of warhammer 40k? Also did the dominion of chaos exists in this universe as well?
The common theory is that the Warhammer fantasy world exists within the warp in the 40k Universe. The Old ones existed in the lore of both universes, and of course so do daemons. Many of the races are obviously the same too (men, elves/eldar and orks, who arrived in spores inside the old one's space ships). It's just a theory, but it makes sense

Hashut seems to be similar to Baal or Mammon of some ancient Middle Eastern religions. Which would make since due to the Chaos Dwarfs having Babylonian aesthetics.
