- Installing my new YSS mono-shock...
on a
KTM Duke 125 , Duke 200 and Duke 390 or Duke RC
Bought this, because the original dampener of the Duke is not good at all.
Now after installing this, it's just a whole other bike, it's awesome.
A speed bump upto 70km/u is just not there at all, it's smooth as butter.
ALLOT safer to drive !
It's the MZ506-300TR-38, I bought at Wemoto.com or wemoto.be , you can check your dealer ...

Z-Series

YSS works like this in there product number:
• Digit 1: Twin or Mono design (eg M for Mono & Z for Twin)
• Digit 2: Specification (eg X for External Reservoir & Z for Emulsion)
• Digit 3 to 6: Piston size & shaft size (eg 362 36mm piston/12mm shaft or 506 50mm piston/16mm shaft)
• Digit 7: - or /
• Digit 8 to 10: Lenght of shock in mm
• Digit 11 to 14: Adjustments (eg T for threaded preload, R for rebound adjustment, L for length adjustment)
• Digit 15: - or /
• Digit 16: Spec sheet number (internal use)
So, 300mm length. dunno the diameter, but its somewhat the same as the original.
That video is really useful because my local garage didn't give me the manual and tools that were in the box...

That was useful for the rebound settings but I can't use a C-Spanner with this shock, so I need the tool that was in the box. Yss-UK is not responding to their emails, so I'll see if the garage kept it - if not, I'll make them set the rear sag for free. ;)

Nice video and music. i recently installed this one shock in my cbr 1100 and bike changed radically. I have to adjust it because it to much hard, the seat doesnt go down when i seat on it and its very bumpy....
Yeah, for sure on a bike that can kill you, make the correct adjustments 😉
Hi which side of the bike do you unscrew the swingarm bolt on duke? I can't seem to budge it on either side lol
I did it at the nut side ...
Can you please let know the length of this shock? By length I mean the end to end length not the travel of the shock...that is mentioned as 300mm ...

Hi dude biker, i have a 2014 Duke 390 and i want this on it, but i watched the link you shared and shocks are different, the one in the video doesnt have that big cilinder and the one of amazon does. Why?

yeah i know your current setting is the most comfortable but when taking high speed corner there is a high probability to wobble and it can hurt yourself mate...anyway safe ride

I really like this one, I don't think you can wear this one out on our 125-200 ...
Use the rs200 gas charged shock , direct fit and a much better money saving upgrade.

It's a 300mm shock, if the ns have the same length it fits 😉

hi, is there an adjustment to lower the ride height of the bike?
@0:41 you see me put a stick in the spring ... that is all thread to lower/higher, stiffen up your ride.
Nerdiasme oh i see, the one on top with thread adjusts height, the knob on the bottom adjusts the stiffness?
The thread is the stiffness and height. The knob is dampning 😉

I'm pretty sure it does ... Don't think the spring changed from the '13 model.
But not 100% sure, so do some research first, mkay ? ;)

@J R normally when you buy a brand new ktm. Take apart the front suspension and you'll find so much debris and dirt in it, it's scary!
@J R parts may be indian but most of the main parts comes from other countries. ktm is actually an Austria based company. So the main parts like engine, chassis are actually manufactured in their mother hub and these parts are imorted to India and are accembled in India some parts may be made in india but ktm is not fully manufactured in India , it is accembled in india . So ,I am not the one who should research ,you are
