Stayed on Ko Lipe for one month in 2004. Bungalow at the far end for only $5 a night. Simple, but with a hammock on the deck and a full view of the ocean, one I'll never forget. Back then, there was no electricity on Lipe, no walking street, no motos. Only a sandy path connecting one side to the other, which you could walk barefoot with a full moon to light the way. Unforgettable. This Lipe, it's still beautiful, but nothing like I remember!

Yes, it is interesting to see hotel hunting and options. I know you mentioned that beach front properties were expensive there on Koh Lipe. That in itself was good information. We like more mid range properties, but beach front. Let's see where else you go and what you find! Thanks for sharing.

Option 1 looked the best to me. I liked the layout of the pool and the ease access. Option 2 was right out with all the stairs. :) Looks like you're having a great time :)

Stayed in Akira Lipe in March for 6 nights for an early 10year anniversary. The island was just beginning to get ready again for tourism and most visitors were Thai’s who were getting a 50% discount to encourage a return.
The place was so idyllic and peaceful though once visitors return in numbers it will have a completely different feel. I’d like to visit again to get the vibes when the place is up and pumping with no curfews or bars closing at 11pm.
Keep the videos coming Chris. Love seeing them even if I’ve already visited. Enjoyed the ones from Toronto as I occasionally visit there and has given me a couple of ideas of somewhere different to go when in town.

Worth the morning hike! We can’t wait to see more of this island through your eyes Chris! Cheers 🍻 from Vancouver Canada!! 🇨🇦

Stayed on Koh Lipe 30 years ago. One restaurant, 1 long House and 3 beach huts. The menu was fried rice and pineapple or watermelon for breakfast. Dinner:small, medium or large fish. Large colony of Water gypsies. Wanted to learn diving after snorkelling there. Amazing how it changed. Wonder if i want to go back....

This was great!! I loved seeing inside the hotels and where they were. When I was on Koh Lipe in October 2016 (lower tourist season, awesome unless you really want the people and crowds) we stayed at 10 moons. They were in construction for their new rooms up the hill. We were about 1/2 way up and had the most awesome view of the Ocean(rooms much more basic than what you showed). The beers on sunrise beach are much cheaper than sunset beach. We had them for 20 baht opposed to 80 on Sunset. Is that a big difference, well no, but you can get 3 more beers for that price. I can not wait to see more.

Thanks for sharing hotels and prices at Lipeh Island. I am a Thai but never been there. A couple of years ago before pandemic, my daughter took us (my mom, my husband, my another daughter, and me) to an island near Lipeh named Bulone. It was a small island and there were no nice resorts but bungalows. I found out later that although we booked for air-conditioned room, the electricity would turn on after 6 pm and off at 6 or 7 am. However, the sea was so beautiful and it was a quiet place. It was a memorable trip. Hope you can visit this island too.

Worth checking out the new resort on the corner of the island, Zodiac, fairly secluded and recently built.
Andaman resort next to it has nice beach chairs / umbrellas but the rooms and staff are not pleasant.
We've also had great experiences at LongBay, you get a whole cabin for under 2500 thb, and a private beach.
The box was a good spot for food but i think its gone now?
RockStones bar is by far the best bar on the island but I believe they moved to a new spot on the island.
Alright - that's all i got for Lipe.

The Idyllic is clearly overpriced, even for Koh Lipe, which is also procier than other places in the Phuket/Krabi area.

    Option 4 was much better.
At one point you said classical Thai style. That made me think of what is actually classical Thai -- a little hut on the beach with a palm frond roof for about $600-800 Bhat per night. The last one of those I stayed in several years ago also had a really nice pool. Fantastic time without paying exorbitant prices. Plus, the way to enjoy the nice hotels is to walk down the beach from your more reasonable hotel to have a meal there.
