If this were any other company you'd say this was amazing
Yes, but when it is other than Tesla or NIO, it is just not a big deal :)
Your Bias is too obvious. As a model S owner, Tesla cars are not good quality.
I know people don’t like nio for whatever reasons but they have great cars !! Let them come to the USA and it’s a wrap!!
They're going to be a huge deal in the Middle East.
It will be a wrap for the company with amount of hate they will receive
Why worry about US so soon? There are so many easy markets for Nio to enter first.
This video sum up the end game for all the other EV makers out there. NIO is the only that can do 24x7 robotaxis in the future. Unless they partner with NIO and pay for the swap fees. MOAT th-cam.com/video/GSOPIX7mOvM/w-d-xo.html
Reason: they don't like getting crushed by the competition - especially if it has self-confidence and isn't part of the white supremacist.
You forgot to mention that Nio's 'copied' battery has better density than Tesla's
By over 50%
And didn't mention the internally developed AD chips which Elon opined were generations ahead of any, even NVDA's.
NIO's new ET9 is next level, bring on the sub-brands!
It will never be available in North America
NIO has the best EVs, technology, and their battery swapping is the most unique and convenient way to replenish your battery packs. I only want to drive a NIO bottomline, cant wait till they come to the US
If NIO was an US company the market cap would have been at least 100 billion. Currently, the market cap is less than NIO's revenue and cash on hand combined. NIO is coming with such good news these past weeks (e.g. 150 kwh BATTERY, 2300 battery swaps, battery partnerships with car giants, safest cars on the market, NIO phone, NIO chip, ALPS model and many more things, which I cannot remember). Still wall street keeps the stock down significantly. One thing is for sure: they cannot keep this beast down forever.
It looks amazing in every way. It is shocking how fast the Chinese are coming on. Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, where are you?
All gone…literally. Incredible
I think Hyundai , Kia is doing pretty good… Japanese and American big 3 are way behind
Finally we hear something positive about NIO here 👍🏻
You seem to have forgot to report on battery swapping becoming the standard in china with Nio leading the way
The reason for this is, that because it is not Tesla :)

If you want a luxurious EV, this is the EV to buy, at least for now.
Nope
If this car ever comes to the United States they will without a doubt put Lucid out of business 😢
Already very close to out of business
Lucid is like a toy compared to the NIO ET9.
If Nio came to the US the big 3 would go under.
@@chrisroberts3963Nio is in Europe and that isn't the case.
If this car is real. I wish it could take the Tesla charger and use their charge network. That. Plus coming to NA.
That would be a real option. What a really nice car.
Mr Viking
More backhanded compliments that attempt to undermine confidence in the brand. This is the most advanced car in the world. Why on earth would even mention the shiny polygon urinal in the same sentence? It's time to show your hand mate which might then explain your bias. There is NO comparison required. NIO has just created The Future ... All the best.
Very well said. Sam has to be more objective in his videos. Of course there is not always need for to mention Tesla in same sentence.

nio's new supercharger charges at 640kW, it's not hoping or waiting, it'll be available in 2025 on the streets
Sam, What is wrong with you about NIO? You have to be more objective than you are at the moment for other brands. We all know that you are 100% Tesla Fan, but still it is better be to fair and objective.
He’s right to be worried about NIO. They’re on track to dominate in China. Next year is gonna be big. Direct competition to Tesla, BYD. Etc etc. let’s see who want to wait for their car to charge or be the sucker with a 100,000$ car waiting in line like a common person for some supercharger.
The 150kwh battery 'hype train' just drove 1000km on one charge, you forgot to report this
What matters is winter and dual motors
Not a big deal for Viking channel. He has all the days and time for videos and still he is not trying to create news about new tech which is related to NIO EV's.
NIO is the GOAT viking, you gotta admit it. :)
New charger released in April to accommodate 600kwh charging. 700+amps is the word you were looking for.
Any connectors rated for that kind of amps?
It is just you. ET9 available one year away, first quarter 2025. However still way faster than TSLA truck which took FIVE years because of delays after delays. BTW Tsla CEO is known for making lame remarks about other companies too on his doomed X. So lets not call the kettle black.
Nio didn't deliver the car yet , so it is nothing but a concept car. Tesla had to invent the tech and materials to make a cybertruck. Good luck Nio!
@@RockinRonny420Buddy, Cybertruck was a concept truck first introduced in 2019. Gone thru changes . It is TSLA that will need the luck very soon. For that matter, all the OG ice manufacturers should worry too.

Huawei, zeekr, nio and some other have 600+kw chargers right now as we speak
All Nio's R&D expense finally bears the fruit. It is a executive flag ship, EQS is not in the list. possible MB Maybach or Rolls-Royes Spectre.
Direct competition to the Mercedes EQS.

This could be the future as cost for this kind of car goes down.
Merry Christmas Sam all the best for 2024 .
It's quite ironic to observe that you express disapproval of CEOs who are aggressive and tend to over-promise, yet you simultaneously exhibit complete support for the CEO of Tesla, who is often characterized by similar traits. The contradiction is hilarious. But back to your review. You have not watched the presentation at all - obviously - since you did not know about any charger that can support this car. They just announced this charger at the same event, lol. Also, you are mixing the semi-solid state battery with the new 900 V battery. They are for different generations NIO cars. The 150KW battery is for generation 1 and 2 cars and the new high voltage platform is for the ET9 and future models down the road. The bias is evident but I wish you a merry Christmas and hope you will do better next year...
XNGP is able to drive in only 50 cities, while nop+ is able to drive in 200.
I gotta say. I don't understand the doubt with Nio lol I legit hear people in Canada say "until they invent a battery swap system for EV's im not touching it" and i laugh like, China is ahead of the game, people just don't understand Nio is a premium brand, expensive ass cars, they wont deliver as many as shitty xpeng cars
Hello Mr.Pro Tesla
The wrap around cockpit looked pretty cool. I wish Tesla would put Lidar back into their cars. Looks like a great car for a great price and great if you can afford it.
Sam, You said that at this stage of the game Xpeng has better ADAS or autonomous driving capabilities. This is 100% false in a series of safety tests between NIO, Xpeng, & Li Auto NIO won on every account.. & on a few occasions the Xpeng & Li auto blasted completely through the fake trsts vehicle.. Wasn't even close, & NIO will beat Tesla to L3 you watch. 😊
He is just a paid clown makes a lot off bullshit statements I hope they sue him
Sam is not objective at all for EV's. He has to be more objective. Other than that his videos are good in general.
He is a pro Tesla. Get paid by them
@iSot80 Agreed, some of his points are pretty good. Yet, some points aren't even close to being on the mark. ✅️
@@peterklausner9727 Well said.
I like the idea of swapping batteries easily, and keeping your own battery. Designing cars with easy to swap batteries will make them massively cheaper, unlike the situation with Hyundai at the moment.
Great job. It looks like a great car, all be it big. It seems to run on a 46105 which I’m keen to hear more about
It has two God chips in it
The "drive-by-wire" direction all auto manufacturers are heading toward is very concerning. One can certainly argue that "fly-by-wire" has been around for quite a while and its reliability track record has been proven. One major difference between cars and airplanes is that cars must maintain their directional controllability after a minor collision. Airplanes are basically toast after any kind of collision.
Went nio come to America I like this swap batteries very nice
Sam, Merry Christmas to you. You have brightened the year of 2023.
What does '765 something peak charging current' mean? It means the peak charging current is 765 Amps - exactly what you would expect from the description.
The implication is that the ET9 can hit its peak 600kW charging rate even on run-of-the-mill 800V chargers, viz. not just on NIO's 925V chargers. As long as an 800V charger can issue the required 745A (or thereabouts) the ET9 wouldn't be at a disadvantage in respect to charging time, if it should be plugged in at such a charger. (Higher voltage and lower current will result in somewhat less heating of the battery cells, however.)
Beautiful car.
You don’t seem to know about Huawei’s fast charging stations.
I don’t see why anyone would any buy a dated plaid over this?
Nio 500 dollar deserve
Wach the Event Next time before doing a video: Nio also unveiled its fourth-generation battery swap station as well as its new 640-kW supercharger at the event, and said it aims to add 1,000 battery swap stations and 20,000 charging piles in 2024 in China
So, yes, there is a 640 kW charger available. The once from Nio
Hopefully the production of it will scale. But then again at that price perhaps they don’t intend to sell many?
Should be fun to see either way.
Looks awesome 🤩
Happy Christmas 🙂
600kW is not impossible. The more cells, the more amps can be divided among them, so given enough kWh of capacity and enough temperature control, one can charge very fast.
thisIt's just three times bigger than what competitors have.
Good luck finding a 600 kW charger. That's like two Walmart Supercenters.
swapping stations would work great in US these days, i'm sure theft wouldn't be a problem. i dont think they have to worry about this in China
Huawei and Ruisu already have installed 600 kW chargers.
It’s the king of cars. It’s huge because it’s for executive status.
It's swapping infratructure and partnerships are equally impressive.
As an American we have to be objective and accept the the fact that China in general is doing awesome technological WORK.... GOOD STUFF!!!
NIO might just be one of the best wealth transferring conduits, if not the best. Thank Goodness, I’m so glad NIO has been downplayed their exposure for so long, so everyday people like me can get on board and tag along with their amazing future.
Personally, I hope they will be partnering up with Quantum Scape soon, with NIO’ battery swapping technology and stations and QS’ supreme battery capacity, then EV industry has no reason not to overtake the combustion vehicle industry!
Is it coming to Australia
Cybertruck steering? Was not aware, that Tesla has a patent on steering by wire? Or is it the same innovation like 48Volt or Ethernet car communiction? The car looks like a highway toilet, no chance to load the bed (how, with the high side boards?), not delivering on rage, price to high. At least the interior has the same charme as the exterior.
I pushed through for more yet, your tone remains... It this the new you? Snarky?
765 amperes peak current; current is the flow of electricity. 600 kW is the peak power so it won't be as fast as you stated since it is not likely to sustain peak power from start to finish.
It’s suppose to serve as an executive car, as far as i know in China.
Anyway thx for creating the video. Hope you continue to push Nio.
Cheers mate
You’re very very wrong again about the battery density. Not sure if you’re doing this as a hater or just a simpleton. The NEW NIO battery cell energy density is 360 Wh/kg. This is significantly higher than Teslas 4680 battery of around 250 Wh/kh. Also not sure why you didn’t say that LOL. You’re so easy to read.
Looks great. On the specs, I believe it when I see it.
Every luxury saloon has only one competitor which is Panamera and not Tesla truck.
Nio claims that its swappable packs are structural packs/components. Tesla's packs can be removed, too - that doesn't seem to stop them from being structural, does it? You have just assumed Nio's packs aren't structural and you are wrong.
A rapid detachment interface is a good idea (assuming it is robust) irrespective of whether you intend to battery swap or not. Furthermore, not everyone agrees with Tesla and Sandy Monro that bolting seats and other cabin fixtures directly to the battery pack is the right way to do things. That you can bolt seats to a pack doesn't make the pack structural. Structural packs are purpose built to that end and Nio's packs like Tesla's packs are structural.
tesla's structural batteries cannot be removed unless you are removing each individual cylinder one by one, pretty much foamed in and stuff. i dunno if nio's packs add additional support to the car but the car is definitely structural on its own without the battery given that it can be removed; whereas for tesla you would need to tear apart the car to get to the battery and after removing them the car would not be structurally sound because it relies on the batteries to give it structural support; whereas for nio the battery pack is extra weight because it's not part of the actual structure of the car itself even if it may be providing additional support; whereas for tesla they can reduce the amount of structural material (weight and cost) of the frame of their car because the battery makes up for it
@@NomadWalker-io3ne No, they are structural in the same sense. First, it is obvious that no EV can be used without its battery so you are taking yourself down a path involving some seriously dubious reasoning there.
And, you are looking at this wrongly. The structural features or the pack and the structural features of the chassis work together to produce a torsionally stiff vehicle - each piece plays its part.
Now, the heft of NIO vehicles (which should rightly be a concern for anyone weighing up a NIO purchase) is explained by chassis construction technique rather than the matters you addressed in your comment. We can be confident that some day soon, following in Tesla's footsteps, NIO will take advantage of major chassis forgings to simplify and speed up vehicle production. At that point, NIO vehicles will shave a lot of pounds without sacrificing torsional rigidity. NIO's structural packs will continue to play their part in the overall structural picture.
How many models do NIO have now??

Nio has copied no one's battery. The batteries are all common technology but each large scale user has the choice to either use an existing dimensioned cell or might choose to have cell makers fabricate a size that suits the end user. Tesla likely did exactly the same... its just a package that suits the users parameters if they choose to design outside of some 'off the shelf' item. If Nio wants to operate in extreme cold then they might have included some form of warming element in an outer skin. Who knows, but for sure no self respecting auto maker is likely to copy Tesla.
One of the cleanest, well designed EVs this side of Tesla. Fascia is crisp. No wasted moves or gingerbread. NICE.
I wish wheels would start having dimension and depth again. All the dead flat, machine face wheels out there are redundant snowflakes.
What is it with NIO anyway? They’ve been around and innovating since the beginning right? I’ve heard they were bankrupt or at least headed that way. Stocks are disappointing. They seem kosher. What’s up?
Overall these Chinese car companies have to perform super human to get respect/interest/loyalty in today’s car world. It may or may not be fair but it’s a climb. Japan did it in the ‘70s. It’s possible.
