Looking like the additive is doing a good job. Nice to have the seal fixed so you don't have ton of greasy dirt on the engine. Maintenance greatly increases the life of our equipment.
That was a fair amount of gunk in the filter, it must have been getting close to losing power followed by starting problems. I reckon you need to keep a couple of filters in stock, as they always let you down when you are either doing something important or trying to beat the weather.
Dont know why MF roofs often are so short that the top of the cab allways gets so rusty,when I make new roofplates I allways make them stick like 100 mm/ 4 inches longer out front and rear ,thank you.
Great video Dan. I always pick up useful tips from your maintenance/repair videos. What type of silicone did you use to make the seal when you put the tachometer plate back on?
As far as I'm aware a direct replacement isn't available new. Go and look at The Fud Weasels channel. He put a new one on his 590 a few months ago, I'm not sure if he said where it came from but is worth a look. I think you'll have to be prepared to alter mounting brackets and pipework.

You didn’t show the start up, did you have problems getting the air out?
No, but I didn't start it for several hours to let the gasket sealer set properly before oil pressure got near it.
