    Sounds brilliant, looks stunning with it fitted. Taking it to the underground carpark made me smile, as it reminded me of my days in London UK in the early 1990s. I had a 'poor mans E-Type' in the form of a Triumph GT6 Mk.3, my mate had a GT6 Mk.2 - we would head out of London to Heathrow Airport late at night, particularly to drive through the longish Heathrow Tunnel - the sound of the two GT6s side by side through the tunnel with those delightful straight 6 engines echoing off the walls was fantastic - grins all round. Great days they were.

    I love how you took the car into an underground car park to hear how it sounds, like a big kid.

    Lovely E-Type! Jags piss oil out for a living! I'm in the UK and am an ex Jag tech, I own a pretty original 1964 3.8 MK2 manual, I will now check out if Moss do a TT exhaust for the MK2! 👍

    Looks great- I already purchased another system and have yet to install it. Unfortunately, the common steel headers on the market don't have flex pipes! If I had known, I'd have spent more on the stainless set with flex pipes instead of now having to buy flex pipes and cut the system up.

    you are pretty cool about the fact your brake light switch melted and spilt all your brake fluid. I have heard a few issues on the Jag period brake light switches and I personally know one guy who almost wrote a MK2 3.8 of, as a failing brake light switch meant a failing brake ...
    That's how a car needs to look like! Ready to enjoy with not too much worry you might upset the trailer queen. I prefer this over any A+ restoration!

    You made me smile when you said the exhaust was too beautiful for your car, nothing is too beautiful for a Jaguar, as you say Automotive Jewelry. :). And you MUST know the oil leaks are a design feature to protect the underside of the car from rust. I just got to the bit with the new manifolds they look gorgeous, I am so jealous. As I have only lived in the USA for 25 years can you please answer a question, WHY do people hate Penzoil I heard it was because it contained wax, or is this an old wives tale ?, your like a kid in a candy store taking the car to an underground car-park, that's just what I would do, well done.

    • @AB-pl1ko
      @AB-pl1ko 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Re Penzoil, yep, the word that I'd heard from old timers is Penzoil oils are paraffin (wax) based, so more prone to clogging narrow internal engine passages versus other brands. Can't say if it's an old wives tale or not but I've never used Penzoil other than on the first car I had. Since then, have always gone with other brands.

    Two weekends ago, I put the SS-big bore system (from Moss) on my -69. SS headers as well. Gorgeous to look at and sounds great. But like you I'm embarrassed with the leaks every time I go under this car.

    • @stevem7868-y4l
      @stevem7868-y4l 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oil leaks on a classic British motorbike or car is normal, its called chassis lubrication, the more worrying thing about this lubrication process, is that when the pan (or sump as we call it) is dry and no more leakage on your garage floor, means the pan is EMPTY, and needs refilling with more 20/50 oil

    After a 500 mile drive this last weekend, decided a new exhaust was needed so off with the Cherry Bombs and looking at this set up from Moss. But...gotta have the 6 tube exhaust versus the standard manifolds. Nice sounding setup for sure.

    Thank you for a very useful and timely video. I’m in the process of upgrading my ‘69 S2 OTS and was wondering about an exhaust system that would add to the enjoyment of the car, and your video and many of the comments (especially the one from London where I also grew up) settled that issue. Now I’m wondering about also converting to triple Webbers, any thoughts?

I've had 67 E-type like your nearly 40 years. just curious, I noticed the red air horns you installed. What brand are they and are they loud? I'm thinking doing the same. Best Regards

    Great sound! I just had my 4.2 XK engine rebuild, and I cannot wait to have it back in my own E-Type. You mentioned that it has more power after the exhaust upgrade. Is this really that noticeable? Have anyone else experienced this, and if so, can someone estimate how much more power I could expect from fitting one of these exhaust systems? :) I would think that the feeling of having more power would mostly come from the better and more aggressive sound, but I don't know :)

    • @RichardMichaelOwen
      @RichardMichaelOwen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tourist Trophy is a strait through system whereas the original muffler uses a series of baffles

    • @kostergratis
      @kostergratis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RichardMichaelOwen thanks, yes I am sure it will result in better air flow. But I was wondering if you could indicate the power increase numerically? Would it for instance be a 10% increase in power? I won't hold you to it, as it can depend on so many factors such as the condition of your engine, fuel, ignition timing etc. :)
      Thanks again!

    • @RichardMichaelOwen
      @RichardMichaelOwen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exact % and peak power data can only come from testing on the dyno/rolling road

    • @kostergratis
      @kostergratis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RichardMichaelOwen it would be interesting to do a dyno test with the standard exhaust first and then swap it out for the TT model and redo the dyno test to see the difference :)
