Great engines, when I was a kid my mum had one in a surf which reached 520000 and was still running when we sold it and my 2001 hilux has just under 400000 and still running perfectly(unlike my navara)
Trav, if you had your time again would you just go with a Unichip and tune instead? Or do you still rate the mechanical pump setup? (I know its a debate as old as time)
The old debate..... well I rate the mechanical side due to simplicity no electronics but for set up a uni chip is plug and play where the mechanical pump is removing parts and having to time parts. I'd still go mechanical
@@TRAV30387 am I right in thinking that with a mechanical pump you can run the car without an alternator as well? ( I.e in the event you kill an alternator in the bush?)
Hey mate main reason was more hp the mechanical pump produces more cc's depending the build u want done and there is no electronics to fail on a mechanical pump. And the stock pump can definitely handle the highflow turbo.... i just want more hp 🤟
Hey mate unfortunately no it didn't i used a new 5l linkage cut and modified for a better angle and also used the original throttle cable holder of the mechanical throttle body style engine modified to suit with the 5l linkage im sure u can find that on one of the build videos cheers mate

Follow the injector lines to the back of the pump would be the easiest solution
whats the go the fuel pressure and leaving the injector lines loose..why cant you tighten them up
You have to prime up the fuel pressure otherwise you get a air lock and wont run right

No just set it to the standard marks

Nothing the pump is set in house u just have to set the timing marks to each other
