    Good morning Jimmy. Nice to see a little rust making you have fun down there in Fl. Eric O would still say that is nothing.

      You got that right! Saw his video where he mentioned Royalty Motors and Sherwood, I have to make some rust videos, haha.

    19:04 we used the purple for a while but we found when the cars came back and needed brakes next time the grease was pure clay.

      @JimmyMakingitwork  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I haven’t seen it here, but saw a couple of videos about it from Flat Rate Master and others. I use orange only because of those videos.

      I heard that can happen but have never seen it, I stick with regular ol' clear Sil-Glyde. We know silly-cone plays well with rubber.

    Hi Jimmy
    cut the bar off the end of the brake retracting tool you have and weld a 3/8 socket on it so you can use a ratchet to turn it

      I thought about that just don’t want to hurt a caliper if it’s sticky going back.

      :) It was called Team Motorsports and we did used cars, all kinds of repairs and even helped local dealers with problem vehicles. But the landlord got greedy and doubled our rent one day, so we went out on our own again. Long story.

    Yeah, purple grease sucks. It expanded rubber bushing in my slides to the point they sized up.

    Thanks for the video, Jimmy! Always a pleasure to watch. A tip for rewinding those VW (and Audi) rear calipers: Mount the caliper back in the frame with one bolt, it will have enough swing to allow the tool to rotate, even with the rotor in place. It's like having a third hand to help!

    About dash cams, I am suing someone who rear ended me without insurance, insurance required in Illinois. I have the video showing that I was stopped for a little while before being hit.

    the second mouse sent the first mouse in for the free cheese, I call that a set up when the sign says free cheese ,the first mouse made, sounds like wall street.

    Jimmy guess some people don't get my humor and razzing. Living in Pittsburgh I can feel the rust pain in the 4 hour simple pad slap. If a has those 2 piece lug nuts and 2 more hours per side with lots of four letter words. Hopefully Jimmy you didn't feel I was disrespecting your talent and skill in anyway. If I want to watch a hack or two the is Chris and Scotty for that. I will say SMA is great as is Rainman Ray. But Jimmy is the shiznit!

    I worked on my first BMW a few weeks back. Everything was fairly straightforward, but the no dipstick thing I found to be silly. You have to run the car for 2-5 minutes and the system checks the level. Not good if it’s very low 😂
    And the brake pad wear sensors, are you support to replace them at every pad swap?

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, that’s what we say every time too. If it’s low on oil it wants it ran, smh.
      The sensors get replaced every brake job. They rarely will
      Come out in one piece for reuse.

    Are people saying to avoid Royal Purple lubricants? Also what brand is the orange grease you use? Thank you for the continuous long videos and the extraordinary quality on said videos.

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s the Permatex purple brake grease that seems to cause some issues. I haven’t seen it myself yet.
      Royal purple is good oil!

    Hi Jimmy... What $$$$ For starter replacement. Same kind of car as you did the starter in this video.

    • @JimmyMakingitwork
      @JimmyMakingitwork  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Man I wish I knew the exact price, but I’d guess about $350-400 parts and labor.

    Typical BMW owner, guarantee he doesn't use his turn signals either.. think they're better than everyone else on the road. Tell you right now if that was my shop I wouldn't have given him a thing and called the police if he yelled more than once. Incredible how people think they can treat mechanics like low-class dirt, smart people know mechanics(in any field) are worth their weight in gold
