krillin was never weak. my mans is a human from earth who stood alongside a saiyan and trained with him, stood alongside all the other great warriors of earth time and again, and fought and died for what he believes in. put some respect on the name.
Krillian was never weak (by the standards of most anime). He cut a mountain in half. He took hits from people shattering mountains and got back up. He stood up to those that were vastly stronger than him; despite how scared he was, because his friends needed him. He literally died for his friends, got resurrected, and was immediately willing to do it all over again after he found out about the androids instead of retiring.
What this shows, besides Krillin's perseverance, is that Goku always respected Krillin, he said nothing about being surprised because I think he knew his friends could match him if they put the effort into growing and didn't get discouraged by things like transformations and multipliers. It's especially poetic when you look at it from the lens of classic since there was always an emphasis that techniques and training were the best ways to gain strength.
Correct but the team gets cut some slack, who wouldn't be discouraged when the top 3 strongest in your team are naturally gifted and able to erase a planet.
