- Goku was training with his son goten, when suddenly in the middle of their training, goten would ask goku about his parents, for which goku would answer very confused, suddenly goten for the excitement of wanting to meet his grandparents, he would tell his father to go in search of the dragon spheres, to revive his parents.

You need super dragon balls to revive them
The dragon balls only have that limitation when bringing multiple people back to life. If a single person is being brought back at a time there's no limitation on time.
