I really loved the PREDATOR in this one, I thought it looked so freaking cool! Never seen anything quite like it before, the mask was very unique and this predator was NOT messing around😂 I think my jaw was damn near on the floor during that whole scene with the bear and the predator fighting🤣I also really liked the main character Naru, I thought she was a strong, female character that kicked some serious ass. Pretty cool how they incorporated the gun from Predator 2 into this movie, nice little touch. I hope you enjoy my reaction😄

I like to think that Billy from the first Predator possibly grew up listening to stories of Naru and the Monster from the Stars. And maybe that's why he picked up so fast that what was traking them in the jungle wasn't human.
Fun fact. The dogs name is Coco she is an American Dingo. They found her in a shelter, she was not trained but the director and crew loved her so they kept her in the movie. She now lives with her forever family, that trains animals for movies.

Trivia: the dog was actually not well behaved in this movie. It frequently ran away. And some of the footage they used in the film of it running was it just running away and they decided to just keep filming it and use the footage
I thought without modern weapons this would be a boring Predator movie but the writing was action packed, inventive, and the gun Easter egg was a nice touch. I've seen another comment say we need the next Prey/Predator movie to be set in Feudal Japan and I totally agree. Samurai or Ninja fighting off a predator would be super interesting.

I really loved this movie. There was something that felt very old fashioned about it that I really loved. In our current landscape of overstuffing plot (for better or worse) I really enjoyed how straightforward this movie was. But even the shots, the score, and the whole vibe felt very simple and straightforward. Loved it. Also, it was also REALLY good. Don't want to leave that out.
The thing that really pops in this movie is the way it distinguishes this Predator from all the other ones we’ve seen. He has his own style and personality. Unlike other Predators, he prefers 1v1 fights, which makes him stand out as an actual character. The hook of setting this movie in an earlier time and a non-Euro culture was brilliant, too. It really opens up the franchise possibilities. I think it would be cool to give non-Euro filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their culture & history with their own Predator stories. Predator vs Māori. Predator vs Zulus. Predator vs Aztecs. Take my money.
What a film; it really is one of the best Predator films since the original. Everyone has their own opinions, but this one stands out for me. My favorite factoid, in case no one else has mentioned it, is that the cast did a full Comanche language dub where all the English is replaced. 🤩
I love how Naru is leveling up throughout this movie. She's honing her combat skills, learning about her environment (the mud pool), learning about the predator (it's behaviour, capabilities, and weapons) and at the end she successfully uses all the knowledge she gained to beat this physically superior and better equipped opponent (the final boss if you will). Great example of a well written hero's journey right there.
Awesome. Loved this movie. And after the god awful 'The Predator' (and it's idiotic take on autism which I hated cos I'm autistic myself) this film is a big return to form for the franchise. This and the first film are the best. :)

One thing a lot of people don't mention is how the fight scene between Naru and the poachers is full of long continuous takes, which takes a lot more work to both shoot and perform in. The fight scenes gain a lot more flow like this. Jackie Chan's movies use this style of filming as well.

By her having the gun also means at some point a predator retrieves it somehow. I liked the way the movie reignited the Predator franchise. It would be cool if somehow did another back in time During the early years in Japan or something similar

I love this film - I thought it was absolutely wonderful. Great reaction too! If you feel like giving it another watch at any point, though, the director filmed the entire thing in the Cherokee language as well as English, and I definitely recommend watching it in Cherokee with subtitles. Hearing it in the language of the people depicted is an incredibly immersive experience, that does a shockingly good job transporting the viewer to that time and place. Not to mention it's how the director intended it to be seen.
If i remember rightly the tribe that Naru is from is the same as Billy from the first predator movie...that's why Billy was more in tune with what was going on ..he had heard the stories growing up ...loving this channel ..your reaction are awesome

My best friends dad took us to the movies to see the original preadtor. I have loved all the movies but the first was always my favorite, till now. This is now my favorite Preadtor movie.
When the French hunters appeared with the muskets and pistols, i thought for sure that this Predator was the chief elder from Predator 2... thinking thats were he hot the flintlock.

This was a great prequel and it left me with a couple of thoughts, one: if Naru has the gun now, how do the Predators get it back to give to Mike? And two: in this universe there is a Comanche tribe in possession of a Predator head.....

It's a decent movie! I liked the filming locations ! I think is the third best Predator movie after the original and the seaquel! It's pretty underrated, but people should watch it cause it's amazing! Beside that everyone in this movie knew his role very well!💪

I find Predators a bit of a 'homage' to the first, taking several bits & pieces from the original (the waterfall slide, the gatling gun, use of the same song, ect) - but as a standalone I find it a sort of guilty pleasure. Prey is so so, but yeah a bit too girl power to be believable. I just can't believe Shane Black wrote that POS The Predator thou....

Just saying world building for this film is insane. The way they show native american using stone tools, weave rope from tree bark. that takes some serious effort and research to put on film that is not "historical" film. It shows the passion of the filmmakers. As for casting this had great casting. Amber Midthunder was awesome lead. And this was first role for Dakota Beavers first roles as Taabe. I really was impressed by him.

Having the option of watching Prey in Comanche brings a whole new layer of coolness to the movie. A small gripe though is, that the subs are the same as the English CC subs [Dog Barks]. I can hear just fine, i just don't speak Comanche. But definitely worth seeing.
I WANTED to like this movie... but they went REALLY heavy-handed on the "girl can do no wrong, all men are evil, all white men are more evil" proselytizing. I wanted to say "Yeah, we get it, she's better than everyone...". Some GREAT fight choreography and effects, though!

Loved the reaction Lauren. The original will always be my favorite in the franchise but this one is a very close second. Naru is a great character and an absolute badass. The cinematography and choreography are gorgeous.

The predators probably came back and wiped out Naru and her whole village later on, seeing as that pistol is the same one that the predator gave to Danny Glover's character in Predator 2 and they had to retrieve the weapon at some point
amber midthunder is a very good actor she will be remembered for this this role im quite a big fan of the yautja intergalactic big dangerous game hunter species and i especially love the easter eggs here and the fact that this movie was a low bidget film the colors the sincerity of the actors amber and dakota the fight sequences everything about it the cinematography the music the sounds of the predator and it definitely deserves a sequel and many more movies

Glad you recognized the gun from predator 2 after you saw it and If it bleeds we can kill it they use Arnold's line in the 1st Predator and so sorry about Naru's brother He was very tough jumping off the horse and throwing the spear on the predator and fighting him before he died 😢and The fight between Naru and Predator Was cool I do like how she jumped off the tree and used the ax to hit him and she used his sphere to make him use a shield to cut his arm off and use his mask to shoot the arrows right into his forehead..

When the French hunters appeared with the muskets and pistols, i thought for sure that this Predator was the chief elder from Predator 2... thinking thats were he hot the flintlock.

This was a great prequel and it left me with a couple of thoughts, one: if Naru has the gun now, how do the Predators get it back to give to Mike? And two: in this universe there is a Comanche tribe in possession of a Predator head.....

It's a decent movie! I liked the filming locations ! I think is the third best Predator movie after the original and the seaquel! It's pretty underrated, but people should watch it cause it's amazing! Beside that everyone in this movie knew his role very well!💪

@@hissatsu4937 That's exactly the order i'd put them in - P2 just adds the the lore & Hunters code & is a refreshing change of environment. I find Predators a bit of a 'homage' to the first, taking several bits & pieces from the original (the waterfall slide, the gatling gun, use of the same song, ect) - but as a standalone I find it a sort of guilty pleasure. Prey is so so, but yeah a bit too girl power to be believable. I just can't believe Shane Black wrote that POS The Predator thou....

does anyone else think this links to Billy in the original predator? like how he seems to know what it is early in the film maybe his tribe told stories about this incident or learned about it in some way? also in the original he has a pouch round his neck he grabs when he feels the predator around maybe its the same flower as used in prey? and Billy uses his cammo face paint the same as Naru in prey? WDYT

Just saying world building for this film is insane. The way they show native american using stone tools, weave rope from tree bark. that takes some serious effort and research to put on film that is not "historical" film. It shows the passion of the filmmakers. As for casting this had great casting. Amber Midthunder was awesome lead. And this was first role for Dakota Beavers first roles as Taabe. I really was impressed by him.

Having the option of watching Prey in Comanche brings a whole new layer of coolness to the movie. A small gripe though is, that the subs are the same as the English CC subs [Dog Barks].

I WANTED to like this movie... but they went REALLY heavy-handed on the "girl can do no wrong, all men are evil, all white men are more evil" proselytizing. I wanted to say "Yeah, we get it, she's better than everyone...". Some GREAT fight choreography and effects, though!

The predators probably came back and wiped out Naru and her whole village later on, seeing as that pistol is the same one that the predator gave to Danny Glover's character in Predator 2 and they had to retrieve the weapon at some point

amber midthunder is a very good actor she will be remembered for this this role im quite a big fan of the yautja intergalactic big dangerous game hunter species and i especially love the easter eggs here and the fact that this movie was a low bidget film the colors the sincerity of the actors amber and dakota the fight sequences everything about it the cinematography the music the sounds of the predator and it definitely deserves a sequel and many more movies
