Jumper T12 pro comes with hall Gimbels. I paid around a hundred bucks about a year or two ago for mine and it still works great. I just put an ELRS module in the JR bay. The Radiomaster TX 12 is my second transmitter I purchased this year for the same price. Happy transmitter hunting.
I've been using a Jumper T16 since shortly after it came out and then when the TX16S MK II came out I felt like it was finally time to upgrade so I ordered one and then right after that they announced the Boxer lol. SO I got a Boxer and I freakin love it. As you mentioned, you give up the pretty touch screen and some switches but I think this will be my main radio now. I also have a tango II and it's nice when you need a small transmitter so I'll probably keep it for that purpose, but I'm slowly migrating to ELRS for most things and the boxer fits in my hands so nicely that I don't want to use anything else. I hybrid pinch and it's just perfect for that IMO.
I mounted the T antenna/ dipole inside of JR module box. It requires you to make cutouts for antenna and SMA connector. I bought the 4IN1 version and do not need to use the JR bay. The Boxer is the perfect size for me and I also installed the AG01 sticks.
@@BengalCatChilli It is possible to flash the stock main board with elrs but it is complicated! For new pilots it's preferred to buy an external elrs module and you will be fine!
Yes, for a couple of reasons. It’s frsky, and while they make great hardware they do have a reputation of being unfriendly towards users. It’s also not something beginner pilots will be looking at, so not worth including.
I have a tango 2 standard, brand new, for sale. Gold Coast Australia 😅 The tlite is crazy power efficient. I actually just upgraded my radio after 4 years...from the Jumper T16 pro to a $60 silver tx16s. Good old Trappy and his crazy sales ❤️
18350 batteries are the problem, 2.5 hours of battery life is the Achilles heel. Max edition is nice, but I don’t want to think about my radios battery when flying.
Jumper didn’t send me one, not sure I will buy one for the point of reviewing it. Just looking at it, probably as good as the Boxer with the exception of the screen. T20 has a tiny screen same as the T-Pro and T-Lite, so that’s a missed opportunity
This is spot on, but the T-pro has lousy switch settup, they sell a upgraded back housing that fixes that, also it to slippery, i would drip it, but you can get grippie stickers for that. I sent it back due to that before the mod was released, i ended up with the zorro, your spot on about it, i ugly modded it for full sized 18650s and have flown all day on it, I've never had to raise it from 100mw and I've flown a long ways on it, i love the zorro, why did they never do a zorro 2 with 18650 and the full size gimbals, I'm waiting for that! Boxer is nice, but my hands are pretty crippled up, and like game pad style better for comfort
@@DarrenAllatt i just wish they would do a v2 to fix that, i still use mine as a daily, but would buy a revised zorro in a heartbeat if they fixed that one issue, but would love the better aluminum gimbals too, that would be perfection for me, 1w would be a bonus
What do you mean with not having an internal antenna? Like as if you had to buy an extra one to screw on. I have the tx16s and am thinking of getting the boxer for its smaller size.
I'm a thumber, with Presidential-sized hands. I went with the original Radiomaster TX12 Multi when it came out, with the plan to upgrade. Over time, I slapped in the AG01 minis, acquired a 1-watt Happymodel ES24TX Pro ELRS module, and installed EdgeTX. I can't be happier. It's ideal for my needs. I'd go so far to say that if you're a small-handed thumber, you have the ideal form factor in the TX12. The MkII has Hall sensors, and there's an ELRS version - it's a great first radio for you.
The Tango2 can’t get the most out of ELRS (or Tracer) because it can only handle 250hz packet rate. Which is more than enough anyway. Zorro is 250mw of output power, so you may need an external module anyway depending on your flying. I’d ad a module to the tango2 at first and see how you find ELRS because going for a dedicated radio
I just bought a 4iin1 Jumper T pro. I got RX loss randomly with my 35 whoop. I got a miniwhoop and same thing... totally random range and timing an RX loss loss of telemetry and falls from the sky in failsafe. Pretty sad about it TBH and here in Thailand the seller doesn't really give a F. Also, after the crashes while testing.....my whoop thinks when it tilts forward it also tilts off to the side so I'm assuming it killed the Gyro :( FML
RX Loss is common with Frsky because it has poor range & penetration. Whoops using frsky don’t have the best range. You just need to calibrate your gyro. Plug it into Betaflight on a flat surface and click calibrate accelerometer
@@DarrenAllatt done everything... We're talking 1 to 5 Mtr range out to 200m. Just randomly.. then bind up my friends tx16s and can fly both no problems
@@DarrenAllatt used both and used 2 different quads. Now since bought a used tlite and it works perfect. The tpro is obviously faulty. Sent back to seller even though he said he won't do anything 😭
I’d get the ELRS version of the boxer, I run ELRS over Crossfire as it better suits my needs. But you can run crossfire if you want through the module bay.
Tbs does not own the concept of a slightly smaller box radio. Nor did they do it first. My crossfire failsafed 4 times and support wouldn’t even reply to me to troubleshoot. Ordering a boxer today and switching entirely to elrs 😌

Absolutely agree on the Boxer!
Will there be a video of the antenna mod you did ? Interesting !!
All I did was remove the UFL to SMA connector and put a 2.4ghz antenna from a receiver in.
Instead of the hot glue you could have used black sugru or even some black threebond. Both would blend better with the housing than hot glue
Hot glue is easier to remove though as it just comes off when you put pressure on it.
I may do a 3D print instead
@@DarrenAllatt That is a good point, and it is much quicker to dry and set than both Threebond and Sugru

So what will you do once you want to use ELRS or Crossfire?
@@DarrenAllatt No plans for that. Will just buy one more radio if I need thoose protocolls. Very little money and supervalue with Radiomaster.
Nice comparison video mate! But you don't mention about the frsky x-lite! For me the x-lite is a work horse it can do whatever you want!
And there is an internal elrs module for the xlite.

@@DarrenAllatt Sorry mate, from personal experience, Frsky is way better than BETA FPV.
I don't think the external antenna would be an issue for me. Now I'm more definite towards the Boxer.
Thank you for the wonderful comparison.
Glad to help

Have you done videos on deleting the tx16s switches or swapping the antenna on the Boxer?
No I haven’t, I’m not sure that would be an interesting or a long video though..
The new ZORRO MAX Radio Controller was released with 18350 Battery Compartments with a lot of upgrades!

It's useful mainly for racers. It links your goggles with your vtx. So change channels on one and the other automatically changes to match.
If you run Analog or HDZero you can use the LUA script in your radio to change the video channel on your quad and goggles at the same time.
Useful for everyone on Analog or HDZero, saves stuffing around with channels on both
