As a previous owner of one of these, there is TONS of cheap plastics, they just hide it well with the leather and wood XD The squeaks and rattles as these things get high in mileage are absurd, but I put up with it for the driving feel. Still leagues better than anything they're putting out now though, it's all gimmicks
@@LandenG23I own one with 244,000 miles on it and you’re spot on lol. Even the plastic parts like the radiator go bad but I will say the newer model S classes are still top tier and definitely not a gimmick.
It's such a shame that these don't hold up well at higher mileage. I've owned two, and driven many more, it's clear that with age they just fall to shambles. There are still a number of really well kept examples, but there's only so much you can do once the SAMs and/or BCMs start going, it's a slippery slope before every module in the car is on the fritz and you're in 3x the value of the car itself. I wish they kept up this same philosophy of tank like quality and a focus on luxury rather than cheap gimmicks.
Owned one for five wonderful years. So many awesome road trips (usually four girls & no-one in the back complained 😂) and priceless memories ❤ Lovely to see one going strong! Hope she'll find a great new owner.
Can you do a video about drawing a of what a Pontiac Firebird would look like if it was made today? This is something I've been curious about for a while, if Pontiac didn't go bankrupt, what would their cars look like today? Personally i like to think of the Firebird being remade as a sporty track car. Like a Corvette to the GTO's Camaro. But that's just me tho, not sure how y'all think of this
The first generation CLS 4-door coupe was the best one. It has a low roofline like a coupe, but it has 4-doors like a sedan. However, when l first heard the name, 4-door coupe, l thought it was oxymoronic. But that was until l laid eyes on that mesmerizingly beatiful car.
Looks good in itself, but it definitely shows its age. Would be interesting to put it next to a 2010 Saab 9-5 Aero, as the next gen CLS only got out in 2011, would illustrate well what I mean.
I actually almost bought one of these a couple of years ago. I decided against it for two main reasons. 1. It was honestly too boring. Although almost having 400hp and RWD it was actually too smooth to feel any form of acceleration at all. Was it quick? Yes. Did it feel quick? Not at all. 2. You don't sit straight. The seats faces inwards and the steering wheel is not centered for the seat. It feel incredibly weird driving this car, when you accelerate hard, you actually get slightly slightly pushed to the right because of the non centered seating position. Probably wouldn't have even noticed after a couple of hundreds of miles but during the test drive it really threw me off. If my intentions during that time period was to get a highway cruiser daily I would most likely have bought it. The way this car sits at 60mph is smooth like butter. Although not THAT great at lower speeds, slightly too stiff rebound for bigger bumps under 20mph.
That Benz was ahead of its time that’s the only Benz I fell in love with. People didn’t realize it had everything in the future on it.
This and the first gen A/S/RS7 design were just sublime
No cheap plastics, no dumb screens, a unique interior design for each class... I miss those mercedes days

The AMG badge in the back is glued on by a previous owner with bad taste. It's a great car but don't pretend it's something it's not.
From my understanding, the amg badge denotes the amg body kit package and it comes from factory as so.
@@bennybop5387the package doesn’t include the badge
For $10k...
I appreciate your design insight and driving impressions. Keep 'em comin.'

I´ve always liked that specific model,
it was ahead of its time

If you paint the chrome inside of the headlights black, it makes the car look ten years younger.
Hi, Do you have pictures of black headlights?
Thanks👍🏻
Shut up people like you are why I can’t find a nice unmodified 2000s car stop stop stop
Very beautiful in person.
Love my 07. Those seats aren't that comfortable after two hours or more though. Way more for sport than comfort .
Beautiful!

I would totally buy a better example (less mileage and probably newer)for about us20k. That'd be a sick ride.
