Sooo...little story
I was initially going to upload this waaay before (like, 1 or 2 weeks after the first one) but I wanted to re-record some parts. I have a very annoying neighbour , who kept complaining that I make too much noise (first time was at round '11am' when they were 'sleeping' -_- . Or that I 'talk every day' on the phone...(well sorry about wanting to call my family, bruh) At first I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to be quieter and apologised, but they kept being super rude and even yelled at me. So I was too afraid to record for a while.
Luckily, karma bit back and they have been 'invited to leave' by the owner and other people who also had problems with them. Yay! So the Escaping Peril recap will be sooner than this one, next week to make up for the wait ^^

I like how Winters friends are teaching him all about friendship and loving each other no matter what tribe, but they never give him any credit for literally saving a NightWing, out of all dragons, who even is the mother of Darkstalker. That’s huge character development for him to take a choice like that, yet nobody even cared.

I love Winter’s character so much and I feel like there is still so much character development that Tui could do with him.

His parents.. Wish he could get a winglet of him standing up to his mom, Tundra and getting true closure for his arc. Ahem. TUI. I don't think Winter *needs* to be in a relationship, but I 100% ship Qinterwatcher, so would love to see that. I feel like Tui was janky with Winter's story and overall character arc, which makes most people remember him as a snobbish, never smiling, mean, terrible dragon. (pssst he's actually not and got character development but Tui forgot that after book 7 and only remembered it in book 14 when it wasn't relevant. Thanks TUI.)
Personally the seirse gets worse right after his book, like some how all his characters development is droped the moment he comes back in perils book, he gos from "am living life for moon i love her so much, i must tell her" to "RAGGGGGGGEEEEE time to attack a camfire made dragon"

Fun fact winter actually shows feelings for qibil in his book when he was in his room back at the ice kingdom and laughed at an imaginary qibil in his brain saying something about his mother, and he was like 'shoot better not do that in front of my family' no joke that actually happened.
I respect your opinion, but at the end of his book he realizes that it's not where you are it's who you want to be with. and he knew he wanted to be with his friends and moon so he comes back to them. So I don't understand how he is still a cold jerk in the end. But then again it's your opinion and you can think whatever you want to think I'm not forcing people to think my opinion.

Winter turning is one of my second favorites, just the characters, and mystery.
And then by the next book Winter immediately gets caught on fire and burns away all of his character development.

I really liked the book, prob one of my favourites. I especially liked the plot twist where pyrite was actually hailstorm, and the ending where winter and hailstorm met foeslayer.
when I read that pyrite = hailstorm I felt depressed for some reason lol

I reread Winters book,
Everyone thinks that Turtle was just too scared to come, but actually Winter was getting annoyed with Turtle SOO he scared him off, making Turtle feel unwelcome that’s why he didn’t go farther

I would like to point out that the IceWing animus-es were bred into the royal line, so everyone (basically) in the royal family has animus-ness. They did not loose their powers, Tui probably just wanted to make SOME ancestral conflict to stress that “oOhH nOO I’M aN IcEwOng aNd I ThiNk I hAvE a cRuSh oN a NigHtwOng oH thE HorRor” or something like that
Queen Diamond only had one daughter, right? She could’ve had dragons to possibly have the IceWing genetic move on. Even though, I guess Queen Diamond could get a little grumpy at her son for giving the NightWings an animus Sunny could still carry on if she ever finds someone to love which - I don’t want her to:,)
And I guess Diamond didn’t want to be the only dragon who could pass down animus magic or something. I don’t know how long animus dragon blood will last considering that was 2000 years ago.

naturally soft, but toughened up by my parents to the point of not knowing myself anymore.

just got to the winter loving qibli joke and im gonna be for real winter and qibli legitimately had so much more chemistry than either had with moon. we barely get any of moon’s thoughts on them and their thoughts on moon are just. not as well sewn in as their thoughts about each other. sure they think “man i love her” but the feelings are never described in the same detail that they seem to be in wt and dod (dod especially) for each other
idk my rambling isnt totally sensical but the relationship between either of them and moon just. did not click. it didnt feel natural, more forced because the endgame had to be moon with one of them. they go so much better together id die for qinter theyre canon in my world of fantasy AAGHG !!!
Winter’s feelings for Moon are more detailed than Qibli’s, it always confused me how he even fell in love with her, I’d ask the same thing about Winter but I can kinda see why. I don’t know, Qibli hardly thinks of Moon in his book at all, he only ever starts to think of her again after Chapter 15. I’m not a Winterwatcher fan, I hate the idea of the two even being a couple lol, I just kinda wish that Qibli’s crush for Moon was as noticeable as Winter’s. I’ve only ever gotten vibes where the two would’ve been amazing friends than an actual couple.
