Rip my Twilight meme you will be missed. I absolutely agree with your points about why Winter and Moon are better off apart. Winter was only just learning about how to be a good friend in arc 2, I can’t imagine things would go well with the additional expectations, pressures, and stresses that could come from a romantic relationship. And after having nearly finished book 14 I can definitely say his little gap year in studying scavengers has been excellent for him. Forget the shipping wars, let Winter be the eccentric academic he deserves to be.
Thing with Winter is that, just like Tsunami, we see his character development arc in his book, then he becomes a jerk right next book again 😂 Not that I don't like him, though. I love both Tsunami and Winter and that was just another thing I found funny about them.
Tsunami and Winter would’ve probably been some of my favorite characters in the entire franchise if they continued with the character arcs they had going for them by the end of their books
I don't think he went back to before his character development after his book - we just lose access to his interior monologue, and can only judge him by his actions again. He is far, far more mellow by the time book 14 rolls around compared to how he used to be when he was first introduced, so I think the arc is still intact. It's just harder to see from the outside (which is a great lesson these books carry).

Honestly wish we got Winter and Kinkajou in book 14. While I enjoy Winter’s growth as a character, I don’t really believe he got to such a high point by himself. Plus I do enjoy a good dynamic between the two.

I love the analysis on Winter, but here is my analysis JUDGEMENT I actually think Winter would have grown plenty well if he stayed with Moon. His largest character development was during book 7 and yes he did that without Moon but after learning all that I think he would've turned out essentially the same with or without Moon. He would still have the final character development of not being in jade mountain for a while.(And he would definitely still make a scavenger cage with Moon around)

Qibli and moon are both good characters (and winter I guess) but I just hate how all of them acted towards peril in book 8, like, I don't think (this is my opinion) it matched their character/ character development (Other than winter...no offence) turtle was the only one that maintained character and was actually nice to peril (in his own lil way) (out of the ummmm, whats left of the Jade winglet lol)

Agreed, Tui has a bit of a problem juggling characters when it's not their POV; just look at Flames of Hope if you need an example.
