In my opinion, diamond is hands-down the worst queen in the series. She punished Foeslayer for something that was mostly Arctic’s fault (Not saying Arctic was a bad guy here, just saying) and the punishment was something NOBODY deserves, especially Foeslayer, who didn’t do anything wrong for the most part. She also is a bad mom, and just gives me a bad vibe altogether. I have never met anyone who’s favourite character is diamond.
This punishment is more than just something nobody deserves. It's one of the single most sadistic torture method I have ever heard of in both real life and fiction. Diamond is the most evil character in the serie just for that one action, imo.
No queen Jewel? She wasn’t queen for very long but her character was very cunning. She was logical, fair, and even let rumors spread about her to keep her under the radar. She actually cared about the silk wings and protected them during the whole breath of evil fiasco. I think she deserved A tier or at very least the top spot of B tier.
Personally I love Glacier because she’s an amazing mother and a kind ally. She’s also selfless and a great friend to Jerboa III, refusing to make her do animus magic. I’m sort of bias cause Blacier, but even without it, she’s just a great queen.
I agree with this. While I don't approve of her murder plan, she was weighing the lives of all her tribemates against five unknown dragons of other tribes. It makes sense her decision
Selfless? i dont know about that, she pretty much made Blaze her puppet and only joined the war once she was promised land. If she were truely selfless shed stay out of the war so that no IceWings had to die for a throne they had nothing to do with.
Speaking of Darkstalker.. I gave him a 10, pretty much because he was probably one of the BEST, most iconic villains in the series (at least to me). The thing is, he never really thought what he was doing was necessarily wrong. He thought he was doing all his deeds for the greater good, but in reality, he’s just a villain. I was CRYING when Foeslayer fed Darkstalker the strawberry, turning him into stupid tiny Peacemaker. Darkstalker def deserved more love though (my opinion)
I feel like whenever these videos happen, people are divided on how characters are voted since there’s not criteria for the ratings. People either voted how much they like the queen as a character, or how good they thought they were as a leader, which leads to some weird placements. For example, I love Scarlet who is an awful queen and I would’ve always given her a 10/10 because of how great of a character she is. The same goes for Glacier who is like a 7/10 and honestly the willingness to kill children is just icing on the cake to me. Moral greyness is more interesting then being perfect! Slay! Glacier would be about the same as Moorhen if she didn’t have those extra qualities.
I agree. I really need that to be defined- was I supposed to rank them based on how good of a queen she was or just how great of a character they were? It’s a little annoying to see scarlet in the middle when so many people find her a super duper fun villain.
I actually quite like Pearl, even though she didn't make all the best decisions. She became queen at the age of FIVE (Younger than Snowfall, same age as Qibli or Turtle) after her entire family got murdered and she only survived by cutting herself up and pretending to be dead. That's a lot to deal with. I think it's very understandable that she would try to do anything to stop there from being another murderous SeaWing animus, but I do think she didn't go about it in the smartest way. I think the best option would have been to make Fathom cast a spell which made himself no longer an animus and made sure there would never be another animus in the Sea Kingdom, so then she wouldn't have to worry about him or his possibly animus children. But Pearl didn't do that, she might've been too worried to suggest any kind of spell or too untrusting to think Fathom would actually go through with it. In any case, she decided to isolate Fathom. it's not very nice for Fathom, but I do think it makes sense because preventing any future massacres was more important than his happiness (sorry Fathom). She could have just killed him, would probably have been easier for her and more certain, but she at least cared enough about him to not do that. I think that would have been a lot less nice. Anyways I just think Pearl is a pretty interesting yet very unexplored character.
I agree that Pearl could have made better decisions than exiling Fathom (aside from the fact that she was also a carrier of the animus gene), but looking at the situation she was in at the time, a scared teenager that barely survived her whole family being murdered by a family member and now has to lead a whole kingdom I understand why she made them
I think that the suggestion of 'make Fathom cast a spell which made himself no longer an animus' would have worked excellently, especially since it wasn't like Fathom actually wanted to be one.
I coincidentally have my own *Pyrrhia Queen Ranking List* so I’m putting it here because. Please note this list will be based on each queen’s rulership and NOT how they are as a character. Every known queen in Pyrrhia history who has had a sufficient introduction and at least some lore relevance about how they ruled will be on this list. Queens who were just barely mentioned for a sentence or two with little to no description will not be included. Also, Pantala queens will not be listed here considering how the continent has been in heavy disarray upon introduction and still has yet to reestablish order. There will also be three group rankings of *“Awful”, “Okay”,* and *“Great”* labels to further emphasize each individual queen’s review. Here we go with 15 queens! *The Awful Queens* The queens listed here are horrible rulers who disgraced their tribe due to their selfish ambitions and uncaring mindset, and did not deserve the power they obtained. **#15 Diamond** At the very bottom of this list is the dragon who caused by far the most damage of any character in the entire franchise. She’s the source of 2000 years of grudges between the IceWings and the NightWings. She’s intentionally responsible for using her own animus power on the royal IceWing crown to make her successors hate the NightWings as much as her. She put a victim through an endless amount of impossible suffering out of pure spite and bitterness. Queen Diamond has nothing but hatred in her heart. She is willing to make her own tribe suffer all in the name of vengeance for things that were ultimately her own fault. I hope she died screaming when the world was finally rid of her. **#14 Scarlet** Lived to make dragons suffer. Scarlet easily would’ve been at the bottom of this list if not for Diamond. She had her prisoners of war partake in gladiator fights, forcing them to kill or be killed for the amusement of the crowd. Scratch that- the amusement of just herself. Her subjects and allied guests took no real pleasure in witnessing dragons desperately slaughter each other for the hope of living another day. They just didn’t want to risk getting caught under their queen’s wrath. They feared her. Fear and manipulation were the only things that kept Scarlet in power. She will twist any rule, tell any lie, and use any trick to further enforce her own power over her subjects. Her shamed exile Kestrel, her obedient firescale Peril, and her brainwashed daughter Ruby are all living proof of that. There’s no denying that Scarlet did an astonishing job maintaining her hold of the throne for so long despite so many non-loyal subjects, and things probably would’ve stayed that way if not for Glory’s unpredictable surprise attack. **#13 Vigilance** Just about as rotten as Diamond and Scarlet. The only reason Vigilance is ranked above them is because she simply didn’t get the chance to cause as much damage as they did, thanks to being too busy worrying about Darkstalker and fleeing the advanced Night Kingdom. But don’t let that fool you. She was very eager to cause as much damage to other tribes as she could with her gifted subjects, if only she had more time to get it done. **#12 Lagoon** A perfect example of a ruler who let power get to their head. When Albatross was discovered to have animus magic, Lagoon became dangerously ambitious to exploit his power as much as she could. She indirectly threatened other tribes during diplomatic meetings to use it against them if their terms didn’t appeal to her. A queen flexing her perks is never a good sign. On top of that, she tried to guilt her magic living assets into being her personal animus slaves until the day they died. Ultimately, Albatross did the SeaWings and the world a favor by putting an end to her rule and scaring anyone from following in her footsteps. **#11 Battlewinner** The reason she’s placed on top of all the other evil queens is that there was at least a somewhat selfless part of her that cared about the well-being of her tribe. She knew there was a strong possibility that she would never be able to escape the volcano thanks to her frosted insides, but she was still willing to find a way to save her tribe from having the same fate. But she was still content with punishing her subjects by death for mistakes and failures, as well as refusing to give up her crown to another tribe in exchange for saving her own. Under better circumstances, Battlewinner might’ve been a more honorable queen. But she let the volcano swallow up her nobility where she resorted to dirty methods and threw out the concept of mercy. *The Okay Queens* These queens were not evil and selfish, but they weren’t particularly very noble either and could’ve served their tribe better if they just tried a little harder **#10 Grandeur** What puts Grandeur so low on this chart despite her not being evil, is the fact that she basically gave up on her tribe. When her own heirs proved to be unworthy of the throne, she settled with alternating her power with whoever wanted it, regardless of how much they actually cared about their RainWing subjects. And she seemed perfectly content with leaving it that way until Glory showed up, who just happened to be royal blood and actually cared about restoring the RainWing tribe’s honor. Seriously, civilians were disappearing and no one was doing anything about it. Grandeur was ready to watch her tribe get destroyed by its own arrogance. **#9 Coral** The only current queen in Pyrrhia who falls short of being considered a great one. While Coral does keep a strong and efficient rule over her tribe, she has performed several inexcusable actions on the throne. Most of these include brutalizing and sometimes downright murdering her loyal subjects over failures or just being present at an unfortunate event, without even giving them a chance to explain themselves. It’s understandable for her to be grieving over her persistently dying daughters, but that does not in any way justify her horrific outbursts on her subjects who have never done anything to sabotage her. And that’s not even mentioning how gullible she was to trust Blister and Whirlpool to the point of doing nearly anything they say despite several hard pieces of evidence suggesting their trickery. Coral just barely qualifies as tolerable. **#8 Oasis** The closest you can get to an example of the average queen in Pyrrhia is probably Oasis. She took heavy measures to ensure none of her siblings or cousins could take her throne, but spared her daughters to challenge her for it, knowing full well and accepting that she cannot hang onto it forever and would most likely be killed for it. She kept order in her kingdom and was fair with her citizens, but held a strong grudge against those who disobeyed her and would use her authority against them. It’s quite poetic that she lands exactly in the middle of this chart. *(Next comment for second half of list)*
*(Previous comment for first half of list)* **#7 Pearl** It’s a tough case with Pearl. She was forced to become queen at a really young age and had a huge mess to clean up after the Albatross massacre. She was frightened into banning all animus magic and had Fathom take an oath to never have children. It’s hard to say if she went too far by forbidding him to ever see Indigo considering that she knew full well that she herself also had the animus gene, meaning that keeping Fathom from having kids was pointless towards ending the animus bloodline. But she definitely went too far by lying to him and Indigo about the other not wanting to see them anymore. Granted, she was in a really tough position and it was crucial for her to tie up as many loose ends as she could. **#6 Glacier** Falls just short of being considered great. What keeps her from being in the top ranking group is that she was willing to kill the Dragonets of Destiny instead of trying to ally with them if it meant winning the war would be a little simpler. Also, she went along with all the damaging IceWing traditions including the rankings wall where everyone’s value was decided by their spot on a chart, and the Diamond Trials where subjects would kill or be killed for the sake of pride and honor. For an IceWing queen, Glacier was pretty great. But for a queen in general, she could’ve stepped up more to make better choices for her tribe. *The Great Queens* From this point forward, every queen listed here fully deserves their title as ruler of their tribe due to their good decision-making skills and noble goals. **#5 Ruby** Had a LOT of damage to fix up after Scarlet’s chaotic reign. Despite being magically enchanted to withhold from ruling the SkyWings, Ruby stepped up when the kingdom needed her and did a great job building it back up. She knew it was the smartest call to withdraw from Burn’s alliance in the war for SandWing succession and used her mother‘s wealth to transform the gladiator arena into a hospital for survivors of war. Eventually, she even manages to forgive Peril after all she did to enforce Scarlet’s power, understanding that she was just a victim of her mother’s evil ways as well as herself. That alone takes an incredible amount of resolve. **#4 Moorhen** The only queen in Pyrrhia (whose heirs weren’t constantly being murdered) who has held onto the throne since the first book, and for very good reason. Moorhen doesn’t get a lot of spotlight in the series, but that in no way downplays her noble feats. It’s clear that she cares so much about the well-being of her tribe, even having nightmares of them dying in battle under her command. She was willing to trust the Dragonets of Destiny to peacefully end the war even if it meant her tribe wouldn’t be on the winning side. She always knew what was best for her dragons and pulled them through some of the roughest of times. Moorhen made every right call upon inheriting the throne and fully deserves her long rule over it. **#3 Glory** Didn’t want the throne, but made one heck of a good ruler. Glory’s only motivation for being queen was entirely for the sake of saving her tribe, despite her tribe never doing anything good for her beforehand. She was smart enough to figure out and obtain all the qualities of a queen very quickly despite no training beforehand: trust, confidence, dedication, and hard decision-making skills. And although she needed a lot of help and convincing from her friends to get things in order, she manages to have a healthy rule over two initially broken tribes and is watching over them vigilantly as they rebuild themselves. It takes a lot of power balance to be able to pull that off. **#2 Thorn** A true leader before she even had the crown. What puts Thorn on top of Glory is that Thorn had already been a strong leader long before she became queen. She didn’t believe she needed a crown to be able to lead her tribe to a better tomorrow. She took charge of the outcasts and runaways of the kingdom and gave them a second chance to live happily with their tribe. Everything she had, she built with her own talons. Even without the authority of being a royal, she still practically made her own great kingdom for those who needed it the most. And when she finally did obtain the throne, she made the most out of her combined new authority and old experience to benefit her whole tribe altogether. Just about every SandWing is grateful to have her in charge, and she’s fully up to meeting their hopes for her. **#1 Snowfall** If someone were to tell me that I’d make a Wings Of Fire queen rankings list with an IceWing at the very top of it, I would’ve laughed my head off without believing it for a second. Yet, here we are. And let me tell you: Snowfall has every right to top this list. Whereas Glory and Thorn brought their tribe out of a depression that had been going on for a generation or two, Snowfall legitimately qualifies as the messiah for all IceWing-kind. She put an end to at least TWO THOUSAND YEARS of persistent damage in the ice kingdom when she destroyed the rankings wall and the isolating cliffs. She exposed and destroyed a cursed crown meant to brainwash all IceWing queens into hating the NightWing tribe very soon after inheriting it, when dozens of generations of IceWing queens throughout the past 2000 years never figured it out during their entire reign of wearing it. All of these accomplishments were done in the span of ONE MONTH after inheriting the throne, and all the while being surrounded by a self-appointed corrupt council trying to tell her how to rule and make her a puppet for their own desires. Snowfall broke her tribe free from literal millennials of corruption. The IceWings had been poisoned by tradition for longer than any other tribe had ever suffered in Pyrrhia history, and Snowfall pulled them all the way out of it. That is true leadership. That is a dedication to doing what’s right for everyone. These are the feats of the greatest queen in the history of Pyrrhia. That’s my list! Hope you enjoyed! *(But seriously, if I see even one person trying to defend Diamond for her actions, I swear you will never hear the end of my wrath.)*
I always love when you do these community tier lists, it makes me feel included and that I make an impact and I’m sure it does for other people. Edit: One of my suggestions made it in the google form. I am super excited to see how others rated them. The friendship I had recommended was Sky and Wren. Legends say that if you say JMA three time you will get a pin. Does it work? JMA JMA JMA
True! I think the one main take-away I've had from all these tier list videos is that the fandom, more than anything else, hates it when a character is lazy and selfish. You can be pure evil, but as long as your actively working to accomplish something, people won't hate you.
I think Hazel was underrated, I actually think she's on the same level as Glory and Thorn. She led 2 tribes (As many as she could get from the tribes) and 2 HiveWings to the other continent. That's alot to do.
All the SeaWing queens are just the absolute WORST. Idk what the hell is in their genetics, but literally every one is them is so bitchy. Tsunami is lucky she got stolen away from that toxic ass palace. Also we love to see Glory getting the tier she deserves😍. Tbh I wish Scarlet had at least been in A tier. Yes, she’s a horrible dragon, but omg, if she wasn’t like Disney villain level iconic in every scene.
Moorhen is my favorite character. In book 5, she appears willing to protect her tribe, and she really cares about her tribe. Unlike Glacier, who I think is almost like her, but Glacier wants to kill the dragonets. Moorhen does not. She doesn't try to fight Sunny, She doesn't want to be on Burn's side, and she agrees (as much as she can) to Sunny's request. Ruby lacks in design, (moorhen's design is AFSARFAS) Coral is just.. uh.. She's really abusive, in a way. Glory, I feel, isn't the same personality, Thorn is less worrying, so less relatable (in my opinion ofc. I think Moorhen is the most loyal to her tribe, and she has inside problems which we don't see with Thorn, but Moorhen worries about her tribe in the dream) Glacier doesn't care for the dragonets (snowfall doesn't rub me the right way, opinion based ofc, but she doesn't seem to worry for her tribe as much) Jewel is uh uhm a uh jewelry loving, and we don't see her much, the leaf-silk.. (queen? committee? ???) is a mess, and we never see it. S tier deserving, really great character!
Great video. I love it when you make these tier-list videos and I agree that being a Qibli simp makes you a Thorn simp. It also makes the videos so good by doing tier-lists because it makes you feel like you helped with the video and it’s also interesting what other people think about the queens and all the other tier-list videos. All around great job and just keep making these awesome videos.
I feel like Lagoon belonged with the Ex-Queen Rainwings. Where they were lazy and didn't care about their tribe, Lagoon was manipulative and didn't care about her magic wielding brother. Not only did she torment him and enslave the use of his magic, but she also flaunted his childhood trauma as a punchline, causing both her own death as well as the deaths of the Skywing princesses present at the party.
I have been a big fan of Wings of Fire since 2015, and I cannot believe that I have only NOW stumbled onto this gem of a channel! Immediately, I have been binging a wide variety of your videos. I’ve always loved how diverse and passionate the WoF community is, and to see a channel dedicated to analysing the book series’ core concepts, the complexity of individual characters and the unique ideas and perceptions of the WoF community; it is just surreal! Time to dedicate the next week of my life to devouring every video on this channel, as well as reading everyone’s insights in the comments, because oft, I am ready to be re-educated on everything Wings of Fire. Also, respect for being a proud Qibli simp. I am no longer alone.
Hahaha, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I would highly highly recommend keeping an eye out for TrickyTalon and Fritzafella comments - they always have really interesting thoughts about things!
My personal favorite queen is Queen Glacier. Idk y, maybe because she is one of the only 2 OG queens who stayed queen (until Darkstalker) and if it wasn’t for him, she would have continued her reign as a good queen. I mean, she wasn’t as important to the series, I think she’s actually one of the least important queens, but she was still one who cared about her subjects well-being. (Also I like Glacier x Blaze and Glacier x Boa)
@Monty sorry, I thought you meant the fact that Glacier couldn’t help her, but no, she wouldn’t have been queen during the challenge, because then both her and Blister would be queen, and after that, she didn’t win, but Thorn hadn’t been instated as queen yet, so I suppose that between when Blister was killed and Thorn became queen, she could have been queen, though since Sunny was holding the Eye during that amount of time and it didn’t, kill her, she would have been queen
@Monty yes, she was mostly using Blaze for the land, but that doesn’t matter. It seems to be an unspoken rule to not help during a queens challenge, though the War of SandWing Succession seemed like a special case, tho a challenge is meant to be one on one. Plus, a quote from Brightest Night Chapter 27 Page 286 says: “Can’t you fight for me?” Blaze pleaded, turning to Glacier. “I don’t wanna die like this.” Queen Glacier looked torn. She had to know there was no chance Blaze would survive this duel, which meant she’d get none of the promised territory for the IceWings - and she’d be left with a bordering kingdom ruled by a queen who’s been her enemy for eighteen years. But Sunny could see that Glacier wanted to be just and fair. She couldn’t fight the SandWing’s battle for her, not one-on-one for the throne like this. The IceWing shook her head. “I’m sorry, Blaze. This is your fight.” She touched Blaze’s wing with her own, briefly, then turned and flew up to join her fellow ice dragons up on the wall.
Glory may just be my favourite dragon is the whole series I just love her sarcastic personality, her selflessness, and her traits in general She is probably the definition of girl-boss 😭✋
I love Glacier, and I think those last flashbacks when Snowfalll gives up the ring and comforting Jerboa is what so many people loved about her. At least that's what I thought. I also really like Grandeur, and I love that she Jambu and Mangrove are basically substitute Queens whenever Glory leaves. This also just got me thinking about what would've happened if Glory arrived not during Magnificent's rule. Going to go vote now, bye.
I AM SOOOO glad i found this channel a while ago when ever i have a good or bad day i come home and watch you and it makes me feel better i hope you enjoy the pic of youre night silk i sent you thank you for being you and thank you for being there always you also werent just someone to make me happy however my day has gone you also were an inspiration to me and i hope you know that youre the reason i made my art channel thank you again for being you thanks for everything you have done and never quite cause if you do i will go into depression sorry i was late to comments i had to pack cause of the move and thanks again for being there for me to watch another person love quibli as much as i do when my friend moved away NEVER QUITE AND ALWAYS WHEN YOURE SAD REMEBER QUIBLI
I'm glad these videos have meant something to you. It has made my day to hear they've had a positive impact on someone's life. And I will take your advice to heart - whenever I'm sad, I shall remember Qibli :)
My name is hazel so when I finished the book I was so glad to see she wasn’t a bad character. She’s definitely one of my favorite characters in the entire series ❤
These teirlist videos really shine a light into my day. Seeing the community agree or disagree with me is so much fun! please keep up the great content I love this channel.
Awww, Moorhen should've at least gotten A-tier 😭 I know she only gets, like, three scenes, but I Iove her Also, Scarlet isn't in S-tier??!?!!? What a crime smh.
In my opinion, Glacier was the best queen. She took care of the tribe the best, and she wasn't bad at all. As for killing off the DoDs, any queen in TWoSS would have done that, and even then I kind of understand why she did so, she's like Winter, a character with a realistic personality which gets hate for zero reason, meanwhile Qibli whom you would never, EVER meet with a similar personality, gets showered with all the love (Just to make it clear, I hate Qibli with every fiber in my body). Also, she balanced her queen duties with being a mother, and she was a GREAT one (Don't deny it, she literally chose one daughter because for the other, choosing her love and the kingdom would tear her apart, and she wouldn't fight.) Thorn is my 2nd favourite queen and she is fully deserving of that place in the tierlist, she's the future best queen now that glacier's dead
Interesting points - as for ANY queen killing off the dragonets of destiny, I think we have pretty strong evidence against that claim - Coral just locked them up (mostly because of Blister's manipulation), Moorhen agreed to go along with them in book 5, and the Rainwings didn't care at all. The Skywings were led by Scarlet and I don't think anyone is arguing she's a good model of moral acting so I wouldn't say they count for much, the Skywings under Ruby though almost definitely would not have - I mean, they simply banished Peril who was essentially a war criminal in their eyes, the Sandwings under Thorn would not have - I mean, she imprisons Cobra who literally tried to assassinate her. The only other reasonable tribe who would have done the same thing are the Nightwings and I think most people are on board with the idea that the Nightwing leaders in arc 1 are villains. That's why I think Glacier was out of line with that part, anyways. I'll definitely agree with you, though, that she was a great mom and she did care for her tribe.
@@JadeMountainArchive I mean her greed for land was not a reason to kill the dragonets, so now I'm just contradicting myself. But she's still my favourite queen
I honestly think Snowfall wasn’t underrated for once in this list! She WAS the one who found out why animus magic was gone… but seriously no animus magic? What? Where’d that come from? Battlewinner didn’t do much… so I think she was in a good place on this list. As for ex-queens, I already forgot about them by book four.
Jma you are my favorite TH-camr and you make me so happy every time I see that you posted a new video!! Please keep doing your thing and don’t give up!❤
Ha, I knew Glory and Thorn will be top tier! I really love them both. Glory was my first favourite WoF character and first faveourite that I claimed, and still is, along with Qibli. I'm honestly hesitant to say that she's overrated, but I really think she's an amazing queen, and I think I would've said that even without her being a fave. And Thorn... I have no good reason, I just love her and the vibes she gives, a lot. XD So overall I agree with this list. I honestly think that Moorhen is underused rather than underrated, because not many people talk about her, but there's not much to know and so to say about her I suppose...?
I love this video! Queen Glory is such a great queen and I also like Queen Snowfall changed her character during her book while Queen Glory handles two tribes so well!
I loved the title caption parts were its just like “Just imagine that Queen Moorhen and Queen Oasis are switched around.” And how JMA just edited the photos to move across and move into the other places.
I remember voting for this! I wanted to rate moorhen very good because she is a kind and just Queen, but because she doesn’t appear that much I had to vote lower
Y'all Coral definitely needs S tier. Anyway, lol, great video!! JMA, I *highly* recommend learning enneagram!!!! I know I've said it before, but I really do! It's utterly fascinating! (Coral's a 4w3, I think. They're the "Aristocrats." It fits! XD) EDIT: Also Snowfall sucks fight me I dare you (She's a 6 btw)
@@JadeMountainArchive Interesting!! You seem like a 3 to me. People are always a combo of all 9 types, but some stronger than others! Though not entirely based in "science," there HAVE been many experiments that prove the theory of enneagram right, and it's actually thousands of years old! Fascinating!! :O
coral has to have someone point out that one of her soldiers was hurt FOR HER TO DISMISS EM and a ehh okay(F tier for her) mother- WHY CHAIN YOUR CHILD TO YOU
I’m assuming this is a bad time to unleash my hate of Glory? Anyways… Despite my hate of her character, I won’t deny she’s a good queen. I think she gave up a lot to save the RainWings.
@@thesalmonunderyourhouse318 I was hoping someone would ask. I’m kind of notorious for not liking Glory. Well for starters, I’m not the biggest fan of her book. It’s fine and dandy if she wants to save the RainWings, but I don’t like the sudden reveal of her royalty. To me it just felt like, ‘Oh but SUDDENLY, out of nowhere, she just so HAPPENS to be related to Grandeur!’ I know that it was to save Kinkajou but if Scarlet and that NightWing could survive, so can she. The book was setting up to show that your heritage doesn’t make you worthy of leadership, it’s your determination. Your courage. I think Glory kind of had a wasted potential character arc. Her not trying to show emotion is a perfect parallel to Tsunami’s character arc right before her. Glory could’ve realized along the way that it’s all right to show that you actually care about people. After the queen ceremony, maybe Glory and Tsunami could’ve had a heart to heart about royalty and leadership and dealing with your emotions and whatnot. But instead, they just bicker with each other the whole book. So mature. Adding onto that, the Glorybringer situation. ‘Age gap was a mistake’ my tail. Aside from that, after Deathbringer starts simping after her all she ever becomes to him is ‘sarcastic’. In The Dark Secret his description is “Smart, sarcastic, and beautiful.” Is…is that it? What about her determination? Her courage and drive to lead the RainWings into battle with the NightWings? Her kindness to the NightWings? Just because I don’t like her doesn’t mean she deserves to get downgraded to one single personality trait. I want to like Glory, I really do. But she just comes off me in a bad way.
@@lightofthefandoms6496 there was something about glory's character that never sat right with me especially after reading book 3 and you just explained that perfectly, especially the part where you mention her wasted character potential. sometimes when i read anything about her it's as if tui is trying to gaslight me into glazing her character when she really isn't giving me all that big a reason to
@@satorusuguru-z1q Exactly! And the thing is, right before her, Tsunami’s arc was proving that just because you’re royalty doesn’t mean you’re meant to rule. But Glory just so HAPPENS to be perfect fit, and just so HAPPENS to be royalty. How convenient and not for the sake of the plot whatsoever.
One thing people never talk about is when one of the queens was stolen and Glory took the throne from magnificent everybody was happy, but the kidnapped queen could have been AMAZING. she also could have been awful, which is why nobody cared. Either way, she had potential
I'd say glory deserves the front of s tier we got to see more of her than with thorn plus I'd say I'm a glory fangirl lol Glory is purely a good leader and has a great change through the books she's a lovable character and loves her friends
Is Queen Cochineal (Or is it Cochineel?) going to be in this list she only got mentioned for a bit, saying she was a cunning queen, but respected the other tribes. (I would also assume Snowfox probably became Queen since Diamond didn’t have heirs.)
Coral lost Gill, her daughter Orca, Tempest, and so much more...she probably developed her bad temper with the war years, she's definitely my favorite Queen, very complex psychologically. I wish her character was explored a bit more in the books.
You forgot Queen Jewel and Queen Monarch, Jewel Hive Queen and Queen of the Silkwings. I think Jewel earns B teir, as she was trying to stop Wasp from hurting the Silkwings. But Monarch deserves D their, as she does not care about her tribe because she handed theme over to Queen Wasp to have control over.
um what?why is scarlet on top of coral.yes, coral sucks BUT she had a reason to be. I mean, she’s lost a lot of eggs and her own husband Gill and she decided to take it on someone else. But she was actually a good queen. And she is so sweet.Remember that time with Turtle and Coral wrapped her wings around him with love and the,”It’s Turtle,”he said and the,”Turtle.I’ll remember it this time.”That part definitely killed me. Sweet, fierce, has several losses and barely even shows her grief of Gill. I’d say she is way better than Scarlet.
I just wanted to say this, I think a lot of people forget get that Sequoia is actually hazel great grandmother, because Hazel always say (for example) “Great grandmother thinks that she was an angrier dragon during the tree wars and that’s why she thinks all those dragons died because of her“,and a lot of people forget that!
Glory is just S-tier for everything. I would say even at being a friend. She acts aloof and sassy with her friends, but I imagine that the fact she sticks with them isn't a selfish move, when she could just go to the rainforest. She tries to figure out how to help her friends when they all get trapped in Scarlet's arena, and she sticks around during dangerous missions, even after telling the others, "This is a bad idea and we shouldn't do it." She gets promoted to Queen of two whole tribes before she's even a mqture dragon - she is still six years old, and if I remember correctly, a mature dragon is at least eight years old? She rules and leads fairly, and punishes traitors severely, and when her friends are in danger, instead of barreling through opponents like Tsunami, she sits in the corner and quietly gathers information on the situation and plans strategies for the best, cleanest, or least violent ways to get as many dragons out alive as is dragonly possible.
You simp for Thorn I simp for Qibli. I mean, what is the highest you can get on simping, that is me for Qibli. Man I wish Qibli was an actual person....😍🥰 Thank you so much!
Pearl wasn't a terrible queen. Terrible sister, but she tried her best to be a good queen. Hazel is my favorite queen because of how she ruled her tribe through everything. Snowfall is great too. Thorn is cool and all, but I just think it's kind of weird that she immediately transitioned from gang leader to queen of Pyhrria's largest kingdom.
Good points, good points. Though, in a lot of ways, I don't think it was weird for Thorn to make the transition - the gang she lead was essentially just a city-sized version of a kingdom.
I suppose most people rate them based on likeability, or how well they did as queen, or something akin to that Cause mine is very different, dont get me wrong, battlewinner and scarlet did awful things But the way they were written and their respective storys? BEAUTIFUL. I had GOOSEBUMPS reading the chapter where starflight meets battlewinner. Her rising out of the lava was such a great scene. Scarlet, is someone you love to hate. An amazing antagonist who doesnt need a soppy sad backstory to be great, because shes THRILLING. Shes FABULOUS. She has a gladiator fetish, in perils own words. Her whole arc from being in power to crumbling to someone desperate to hold onto her status, and desperate for revenge against the raineing who ruined her beauty. Such a fun villian. Id put scarlet in S and battlewinner in A for those reasons
Here's how my version of this would look: S: • Queen Scarlet! She's thrilling >:) • Queen Moorhen! She's a bit of a pushover, sure, but she seems to genuinely care about her tribe and always puts them first. I demand more from her, Tui! • Queen Snowfall! She's still learning the ropes, but it looks like she's set up for a great reign. Plus, I can relate to a lot of aspects of her character; Living up to expectations and trying to sort out paranoia is my jam as well ✨ • Queen Thorn! In my opinion, the fandom overhypes her a little, but she still deserves a lot of that hype. • Queen Glacier! We don't see much of her, but she seemed very beloved among the IceWings, which is very telling. Also, the scene where she comforted her daughters while on her deathbed almost made me cry :,) I do agree that she can be a little extreme, though. A: • Queen Ruby! I think she's leading her tribe in the right direction, but I kind of get weird vibes from her... B: • Queen Coral! She can be bit... questionable, but she still runs her tribe well. I think all of the loss she's had to experience has just been getting to her. • Queen Grandeur! I admire her dignity, but I wish she had more faith in her tribe. • Queen Hazel! Honestly, she seems a bit unqueenly to me, but since I think she's a neat character, she gets nudged up to B-tier. C: • Queen Glory! I actually think she's slightly better than a C-tier queen, but since her attitude annoys me, she's getting plopped down here. • Queen Battlewinner! Design-wise, she's was such a cool character- The fanart of her never disappoints! She seemed like a strong, passionate queen, too. Buuuuut she also allowed for the kidnapping and experimentation/torture of several RainWings and planned on driving their entire tribe out of their home, so that drags her down quite a bit. • Queen Oasis! I don't have much to say about her, honesty. She's just here. • Queen Pearl! Poor Pearl... She tried her best but really wasn't ready to take on the SeaWing throne. • Belladonna! She's a strong, confident leader but also a very narrow-minded one. • Queen Sequoia! I appreciate how she's trying to control her temper more, but she's still very brash. Her constant yelling irritates me. D: • Queen Vigilance! She should be on the same tier as Queen Diamond, but her character is enough to give her a little boost. The Wings of Fire Wiki says that she "enjoyed trifling with nervous dragons by remaining silent," and I think that's kind of funny. • King Darkstalker! He's messed up. • Queen Wasp! I really wish she could've gotten more time to shine as a villain... She seemed so cool, but got tossed aside once Cottonmouth was introduced. F: • Queen Diamond! She's a jerk. • Queen Lagoon! She's also a jerk, except she's way too pleased about it. • The other RainWing Queens! They're lazy assholes.
I know using the word overrated is kind of overrated, buuuuuut... I think Glory and Thorn are overrated. I mean, Thorn I can understand a little more, but Glory would not seem fun to hang out with in person. So, I approve of these placements 😌
(just my opinion) Glory is A good leader and a great friend, but shes that one person that be like: "UhM My SaLaD hAs 5 MoRe ToMaToEs ThAn I aSkEd FoR🙄 I nEeD 5.7 PeRcEnT oFf mY pAyMeNt"
@@JadeMountainArchive I’m so sorry about that happening, I really loved that vid even the baby tier, I really hope their’s a way you can repost it but even if their isn’t that’s fine, at least you have other amazing videos that I could rewatch.
I'm surprised that Diamond, Wasp, and Battlewinner didn't get put into F tier. Other than them, I wouldn't really make any other major changes. And my predictions of Glory and Thorn being put into S tier turned out to be correct lol
Also, the whole Opal situation..
@@legrandliseurtri7495it wasn’t for scarlet she would be the worst queen and mother of all time.
Well I like her… I know, I'm a weirdo
Diamond is my favorite character
No queen Jewel? She wasn’t queen for very long but her character was very cunning. She was logical, fair, and even let rumors spread about her to keep her under the radar. She actually cared about the silk wings and protected them during the whole breath of evil fiasco. I think she deserved A tier or at very least the top spot of B tier.
She was really good! She just wasn't queen quite long enough to include.
@@JadeMountainArchive now we must rate all of the sea wings :)
@@WR120EZ oh god no there’s too many 😂

Personally I love Glacier because she’s an amazing mother and a kind ally. She’s also selfless and a great friend to Jerboa III, refusing to make her do animus magic. I’m sort of bias cause Blacier, but even without it, she’s just a great queen.
I agree with this. While I don't approve of her murder plan, she was weighing the lives of all her tribemates against five unknown dragons of other tribes. It makes sense her decision
@@cosmicriptid yeah I totally agree
Selfless? i dont know about that, she pretty much made Blaze her puppet and only joined the war once she was promised land. If she were truely selfless shed stay out of the war so that no IceWings had to die for a throne they had nothing to do with.
Blacier is the best ship in the series
Speaking of Darkstalker..
I gave him a 10, pretty much because he was probably one of the BEST, most iconic villains in the series (at least to me). The thing is, he never really thought what he was doing was necessarily wrong. He thought he was doing all his deeds for the greater good, but in reality, he’s just a villain. I was CRYING when Foeslayer fed Darkstalker the strawberry, turning him into stupid tiny Peacemaker. Darkstalker def deserved more love though (my opinion)
Darkstalker was truly iconic.
@@JadeMountainArchive And his backstory was so interesting and intriguing!
I like to headcanon Peacemaker is allergic to strawberries.

Oh for sure - I like not giving people direction and seeing where the hodgepodge of ratings lands dragons!
I agree. I really need that to be defined- was I supposed to rank them based on how good of a queen she was or just how great of a character they were? It’s a little annoying to see scarlet in the middle when so many people find her a super duper fun villain.
But I want to make it clear it’s fine if you don’t like scarlet as a character of course :)
Yeah, Scarlet’s placement is HEAVILY dependent on how people view the list XD
@@harperthegreat I think you mean "a thrilling villan"
Interesting points! I hadn't considered that aspect of it.
Pure respect from me that you typed this whole paragraph what 8f it didn’t work or send😂
*The Awful Queens*
The queens listed here are horrible rulers who disgraced their tribe due to their selfish ambitions and uncaring mindset, and did not deserve the power they obtained.
**#15 Diamond**
At the very bottom of this list is the dragon who caused by far the most damage of any character in the entire franchise.
**#14 Scarlet**
Lived to make dragons suffer.
**#13 Vigilance**
Just about as rotten as Diamond and Scarlet.
**#12 Lagoon**
A perfect example of a ruler who let power get to their head.
**#11 Battlewinner**
The reason she’s placed on top of all the other evil queens is that there was at least a somewhat selfless part of her that cared about the well-being of her tribe.
*The Okay Queens*
These queens were not evil and selfish, but they weren’t particularly very noble either and could’ve served their tribe better if they just tried a little harder
**#10 Grandeur**
What puts Grandeur so low on this chart despite her not being evil, is the fact that she basically gave up on her tribe.
**#9 Coral**
The only current queen in Pyrrhia who falls short of being considered a great one.
**#8 Oasis**
The closest you can get to an example of the average queen in Pyrrhia is probably Oasis.
*(Previous comment for first half of list)*
**#7 Pearl**
It’s a tough case with Pearl.
**#6 Glacier**
Falls just short of being considered great.
*The Great Queens*
From this point forward, every queen listed here fully deserves their title as ruler of their tribe due to their good decision-making skills and noble goals.
**#5 Ruby**
Had a LOT of damage to fix up after Scarlet’s chaotic reign.
**#4 Moorhen**
The only queen in Pyrrhia (whose heirs weren’t constantly being murdered) who has held onto the throne since the first book, and for very good reason.
**#3 Glory**
Didn’t want the throne, but made one heck of a good ruler.
**#2 Thorn**
A true leader before she even had the crown.
**#1 Snowfall**
If someone were to tell me that I’d make a Wings Of Fire queen rankings list with an IceWing at the very top of it, I would’ve laughed my head off without believing it for a second.
Snowfall is top teir bestie
@@_idk_tbh_ I feel like a lot of people overlook the weight of what she was able to overcome in such overbearing circumstances

Yea

Weren't there three OG queens who stayed queen? Glacier, Coral, and Moorhen?
@@Starricane oh yeah, I forgot about Coral
@Monty no, but Glacier did what was required by law, she had to leave Blaze to fight alone
Plus, a quote from Brightest Night Chapter 27 Page 286 says:
“Can’t you fight for me?” Blaze pleaded, turning to Glacier. “I don’t wanna die like this.”
Queen Glacier looked torn.
Glory may just be my favourite dragon is the whole series I just love her sarcastic personality, her selflessness, and her traits in general
She is probably the definition of girl-boss 😭✋
I love Glacier, and I think those last flashbacks when Snowfalll gives up the ring and comforting Jerboa is what so many people loved about her. At least that's what I thought. I also really like Grandeur, and I love that she Jambu and Mangrove are basically substitute Queens whenever Glory leaves. This also just got me thinking about what would've happened if Glory arrived not during Magnificent's rule. Going to go vote now, bye.

Moorhen deserves a better ranking than B, in my opinion.
Perhaps. I would have just liked to see more of her!
These teirlist videos really shine a light into my day.
Seeing the community agree or disagree with me is so much fun!
please keep up the great content I love this channel.
I'm really glad you enjoy them!
Awww, Moorhen should've at least gotten A-tier 😭 I know she only gets, like, three scenes, but I Iove her
Also, Scarlet isn't in S-tier??!?!!? What a crime smh.
In my opinion, Glacier was the best queen. She took care of the tribe the best, and she wasn't bad at all. As for killing off the DoDs, any queen in TWoSS would have done that, and even then I kind of understand why she did so, she's like Winter, a character with a realistic personality which gets hate for zero reason, meanwhile Qibli whom you would never, EVER meet with a similar personality, gets showered with all the love (Just to make it clear, I hate Qibli with every fiber in my body). Also, she balanced her queen duties with being a mother, and she was a GREAT one (Don't deny it, she literally chose one daughter because for the other, choosing her love and the kingdom would tear her apart, and she wouldn't fight.)
Thorn is my 2nd favourite queen and she is fully deserving of that place in the tierlist, she's the future best queen now that glacier's dead
@@someone-pw3fd Fair enough hahaha

@@LineOfThy ?
We actually see Queen Moorhen I think at least twice, when they tried dream-visiting her.
XD
So overall I agree with this list.
I honestly think that Moorhen is underused rather than underrated, because not many people talk about her, but there's not much to know and so to say about her I suppose...?
Underused is a great description of Moorhen.
I love this video! Queen Glory is such a great queen and I also like Queen Snowfall changed her character during her book while Queen Glory handles two tribes so well!
I love Coral so much 😭 and it’s a problem because I’m just obsessed with seawings if it was up to me she would be in S tier ✋🥲
7:19 bro that’s who every character is in the book as my brother claims
XD)
EDIT: Also Snowfall sucks fight me I dare you (She's a 6 btw)
Enneagrams are fun, though not entirely based in science. I think I'm some combo of 1, 3, and 5?
Anyways…
Despite my hate of her character, I won’t deny she’s a good queen. I think she gave up a lot to save the RainWings.
Hahaha, fair enough. I can respect it.
I am curious, what about Glory do you dislike? I mostly see people loving her, so it’s cool to hear a different POV on her character
Me who just liked Snowfall,Glory, Glacier, Darkstalker, Hazel, and Scarlet. I agree with most of these ranks.
One thing people never talk about is when one of the queens was stolen and Glory took the throne from magnificent everybody was happy, but the kidnapped queen could have been AMAZING.
she also could have been awful, which is why nobody cared. Either way, she had potential
bro these tier list videos were good enough to make me subscribe! fellow Qibli lover, here!!!!

Lol, the subtitles aren't ever very accurate...
The subtitles go wild sometimes hahaha
5:31 I love how it looks like belladonna is yelling at wasp and wasp is like: :/ *yawn*
I'd say glory deserves the front of s tier we got to see more of her than with thorn plus I'd say I'm a glory fangirl lol
Glory is purely a good leader and has a great change through the books she's a lovable character and loves her friends
Is Queen Cochineal (Or is it Cochineel?) going to be in this list she only got mentioned for a bit, saying she was a cunning queen, but respected the other tribes. (I would also assume Snowfox probably became Queen since Diamond didn’t have heirs.)
I kept it to the queens who got more than a few pages of book time!
I see, thank you for your response.
@@JadeMountainArchive Queen Moorhen though?? Lol
i feel like moorhen shouldv deserved maybe like, last of a tier, she was a pretty ok queen (kinda like glacier) and was very loving to her siblings.
I'm happy darkstalker got B darkstalker may have had bad intentions but he is awesome in my opinion
I honestly like all of the results of this tier list, I agree with the WHOLE thing.
That's surprising! I feel like there's always at least 1 I disagree with. Well, congratulations on having the voice of the fandom!
Hazel isn’t sequoias daughter she’s her great-granddaughter ❤
Coral lost Gill, her daughter Orca, Tempest, and so much more...she probably developed her bad temper with the war years, she's definitely my favorite Queen, very complex psychologically. I wish her character was explored a bit more in the books.
For some reason I wanted queen Scarlet to be S tier she just so ✨iCoNiC✨😭 But lying to Peril made my likings for her go down
You forgot Queen Jewel and Queen Monarch, Jewel Hive Queen and Queen of the Silkwings. I think Jewel earns B teir, as she was trying to stop Wasp from hurting the Silkwings. But Monarch deserves D their, as she does not care about her tribe because she handed theme over to Queen Wasp to have control over.

Gonna keep this simple, personally my favorite queen is Snowfall and least favorite is tied for me between Scarlet and Wasp
In c, Coral' s picture is actually Tsunami from the novels. Did anyone else notice that? I realized that a few minutes ago.
Turns out I was wrong. I saw the face pattern and the pearls and was like : "Oh wow, I'm quite the blind one."
Maybe it’s just me, but I just don’t like Thorn. I just can’t get over how she killed Preyhunter for literally no reason 🤷♀️
Fair enough... That was a bit unecessary.
Thorn has anger issues
you forgot a few but I still love all your videos and this is definitly my favorite video
um what?why is scarlet on top of coral.yes, coral sucks BUT she had a reason to be.
Jma: hazel is probably the youngest character on this list
7 year old Glory: what
I always got the vibe that hazel was younger but I guess we don't actually know her age. Interesting!
Thorn got the ranking she most definitely deserves
^^^ Truth.
I wish we could rate Kinkajou:(
I just wanted to say this, I think a lot of people forget get that Sequoia is actually hazel great grandmother, because Hazel always say (for example) “Great grandmother thinks that she was an angrier dragon during the tree wars and that’s why she thinks all those dragons died because of her“,and a lot of people forget that!
Queen snowfall, Glory and Thorn have to be my favourites. Literally love them.
I completely agree with ALL of these. Also, I agree most about GLORY. Glory is my favourite queen, and she completely deserved S tier.
Video title says “Queens”
Also JM* Puts Darkstalker*
Who says he isn't one? 💅✨
Glory is just S-tier for everything.
I would say even at being a friend.
She acts aloof and sassy with her friends, but I imagine that the fact she sticks with them isn't a selfish move, when she could just go to the rainforest. She tries to figure out how to help her friends when they all get trapped in Scarlet's arena, and she sticks around during dangerous missions, even after telling the others, "This is a bad idea and we shouldn't do it."
She gets promoted to Queen of two whole tribes before she's even a mqture dragon - she is still six years old, and if I remember correctly, a mature dragon is at least eight years old?
She rules and leads fairly, and punishes traitors severely, and when her friends are in danger, instead of barreling through opponents like Tsunami, she sits in the corner and quietly gathers information on the situation and plans strategies for the best, cleanest, or least violent ways to get as many dragons out alive as is dragonly possible.
Technically Glory was the first queen we met but ok….
In my opinion
S: Glory, thorn, grandeur
A: Ruby, glacier, snowfall, sequoia
B: darkstalker, hazel, pearl
C: moorhen, oasis, coral
D: Battlewinner
F: Belladonna, wasp, vigilance, diamond, lagoon
F - - - - - - -: ex rainwing queens
@@JadeMountainArchive exactly, she just needed to increase the scale of her vision
6:08, Hazel isn’t sequoias daughter she’s her granddaughter
I suppose most people rate them based on likeability, or how well they did as queen, or something akin to that
Cause mine is very different, dont get me wrong, battlewinner and scarlet did awful things
But the way they were written and their respective storys?
1:28, "Selfish, lazy, and useless." I didn't know I had royal blood.
I literally laughed out loud at this.
This made my day...
Here's how my version of this would look:
S:
• Queen Scarlet! She's thrilling >:)
• Queen Moorhen! She's a bit of a pushover, sure, but she seems to genuinely care about her tribe and always puts them first. I demand more from her, Tui!
• Queen Snowfall! She's still learning the ropes, but it looks like she's set up for a great reign. Plus, I can relate to a lot of aspects of her character; Living up to expectations and trying to sort out paranoia is my jam as well ✨
• Queen Thorn!
A:
• Queen Ruby! I think she's leading her tribe in the right direction, but I kind of get weird vibes from her...
B:
• Queen Coral!
C:
• Queen Glory!
D:
• Queen Vigilance!
F:
• Queen Diamond! She's a jerk.
• Queen Lagoon! She's also a jerk, except she's way too pleased about it.
• The other RainWing Queens! They're lazy assholes.
Hahaha, these are really fun thoughts! I really cannot agree with putting Coral, of all dragons, above Glory but maybe that's just me hahaha
@@JadeMountainArchive Yeah, I'm just not a Glory fan lol. I can tolerate Queen Coral more than her.
I know using the word overrated is kind of overrated, buuuuuut... I think Glory and Thorn are overrated. I mean, Thorn I can understand a little more, but Glory would not seem fun to hang out with in person. So, I approve of these placements 😌

Glory's attitude annoys me a bit too, but I was afraid to say it if no one else agreed with me.

True! I would have loved to see more of her as well!
You should do one of these but with WoF villains that would be cool.
