I appreciate this video and account for sharing information about mental health. I noticed there is a lot of misinformation about ADHD and the impact it has on people. ADHD is debilitating and isn’t simply being distracted. It’s over diagnosed and also underdiagnosed in the black community and it saves lives to accurately share the effect it has on us. I strongly recommend addressing ADHD in a more accurate manner. Our community needs to hear about it so they know how to meet their needs, feel seen, and know they aren’t lazy, dumb or crazy. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback and insight. This video was definitely more focused on the topic of anxiety, with ADHD being brought up occasionally within the context of how anxiety presents differently- so we definitely see how ADHD may not have received the best spotlight in this video. Both are debilitating, absolutely. A few months back, Asha & fellow therapist Ashley Richardson Minnitt talked neurodevelopmental disorders Autism & ADHD exclusively, providing a lot more information in a way that more fully dives into the disorder.
We highly recommend checking out that episode and letting us know what you think. And, in future episodes, we will absolutely attempt to give ADHD the proper care/attention it deserves, even when not necessarily the main topic of conversation!
