Your friends tell you you got a pretty good deal for $1,700.

I think you got a hell of a good deal for it even if you have to sink a few grand more..its a running driving vette!..I've owned 9 Corvettes total including 2 C4's..I have a C8 now but I still enjoy old Vette project videos like this..keep us posted on the progress and enjoy your 84 man..

Is very nice, good to see that it gets appreciation it deserves, it is iconic American sportscaster from. Very special era in time, Reagan Era America.

You can order the dash polarizing film kit or have it refinished from batee they do a great job on the cluster

Great buy, well done!! I own the 84 too so look forward to your vids!! A little tip on sensors, there are 3 of those. The one you mentioned is for the dash board temp so it’s not the one that controls the fan. The sensor on the passenger side (below the spark plug No. 8) is the one that controls the fan to kick in. I by-passed that as i live in dubai (45-50 celsius in the summer) and i cannot afford to rely on sensor to activate the fan, so now it activates when engine starts. The 3rd sensor is the coolant temp sensor and is located just above the water pump. I would suggest you change all 3 sensors asap. Once again, great car and enjoy working on it!!

The fan switch is actually located on the passenger's side head. The switch you showed is where the temp gauge sender goes.

Not bad for an almost 38 year old car(ouch)! In 1985 my business partner owned a brand new black '84 Corvette. Coolest car ever! Fast forward to 2021, seven C4s later, and I still drive a perfect 1996 Corvette convertible. (It's tough when a kid gets hooked on this design). Best of luck on the overheating issue(great bargain for a car in '84 that was close to 25 large).

I gotta say, that’s a NICE looking car! $1,700? Fantastic even with the problems if you have the time.

  • @stevewittbrodt

The temp switch for the fan is on the passenger side behind the dipstick. It grounds to turn the fan on. In a pinch if you ground the wire the fan will turn on.

I just got one last month also wow 1700 bucks I paid 4 grand for mine, but it only has 39k miles on it. Not even worried about the price I paid looking to put another 5 grand into it. I bought new carpets already All new Rubber seals I got racing seats and a 4x7 touch screen radio navigation doing interior first then doing the outside

Your slow widows just need the tracks cleaned, and re-lubed with white lithium grease. Mine were slow as heck too, but they’re good as new now.

I have an 84 vette i bought a few months ago. The guy had an aftermarket manual fan switch added if youre interested i can make and send you a video of it. These things ran hot which is why they only ran the model for a year and it needed so many modifications to make it a daily. Overheating is such an issue.
