    I found a deal about 7 years ago on an 87 C4 as well, much worse than this but thank the starts I found a Mobile mechanic that was a hot rodder that had 1200hp camaro's and helped me a ton. He rewired the whole thing for next to free with marine wire, rebuilt the engine to 350hp with parts he had in his garage, had his own dyno to show me and did bigger throttle body, ported the engine, new ac, great new tranny with 3k stall that ran awesome, new carpet, new seats Kirkeys he sold me and it was 3 colors of primer perfect urban cammo and we went hunting. He taught the art of winning drag races and we won some cash then he took off for a professional racing try and lost touch. What a talent Larry was, Thanks Larry I had a blast!

    Nice video. Your trouble shooting save you at least $500. That's one of things I like about C4's cheap & easy to maintain.

      I wish it was cheap. Just the cost of parts is cra cra and I'm not even halfway done with the car.

    I've got the manual for my '89, and although there was no code, I went into the trouble shooting guide starting with driveability and the flowchart led me right to a test that had me disconnect the MAF sensor to see if it would run. It did. After a new MAF sensor it's running again.

    A wise old man once said the cheapest C4 will eventually be the most expensive to own.

    Love the video! Wondering are you going to paint or you can put a vinyl wrap on it!

      I'm going to paint it at some point. Paint will be last. I have so many other things to do to the car first. 🤪

    Really, enjoyed your vette videos. I have exact same car. My issue with top is won't stay connected at the front. Back is fine, holding on with tape now, but loosens after a month or so. What size mounting hardware did yours take?

      I just orderd a set of the correct style OEM bolts from a vendor. The front bolts and the rear are different so you just need to order some for the front

    When you buy a Corvette it will have problems because they are fiberglass and they will leak because of the rubber is old and the leather will be cracked and if It was ever driven hard it will be more trouble

    My 85 had a toggles switch wired to it!! Why the hell is this always the fix instead of buying the damn relays!!!

    • @JerrSpud
      @JerrSpud  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What!? Was someone doing that to bypass the relay? 😱

      Thanks for the videos! I bought a project C4 going on 3 years ago. If I had know how much of a project, I would have left it where I found it. It’s an 86 convertible. Previous owners should not been aloud to work on it. I do have the service manuals too, but they are reproduction copies and no color. They are helpful but I search for TH-cam videos to walk through certain things to assist. I’ve watched several of your videos and appreciate you putting them together and out there for others. My C4 has been in garage the whole time in a million pieces although I brought it home in one. One day I’m hoping it will be drivable and worth the countless hours invested.
