Canon New FD 50mm F1.4 - Lens Test

  • Lens test for the Canon New FD (nFD, FDn) 50mm F1.4 using the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The test looks at overall image quality, sharpness, flares, bokeh and breathing, with and without a speedbooster.
    This specific lens has been cine-modded with a declicked aperture, focus gear, 80mm OD front ring and a Canon EF-mount. This however has no effect on the image.

    Great nFD demo series, I quite enjoyed them! I only wish they contained a few shots of the actual lenses themselves, like in the thumbnails. Not that it matters a whole lot, but still. Tack Carl!

      Yeah, a real difference in sharpness by just stopping down one stop
