I have this model from my dad,1981 model gold plated,he bought it in Saudi, Arabia...still with me...but unfortunately it's not working now,,,I don't know how I can revived it. Maybe somebody can give some tips....tnx

In Pakistan 🇵🇰 I pay £15 for service, same service in uk cost £250-£300 depending on watch mechanic. Babla jewellers Wembley UK 🇬🇧 has a master watch maker who can repair it with no problems at all .. thank you .
Ordered this one today for $555. First original 1962 design in my collection. Material is tungsten carbide with a weight per cubic centimeter similar to weight of gold but with a hardness like sapphire. Good overview of this unique style watch.
This watch is such an eye catcher in real life. It’s as vintage with modern touch. Class and beauty. I love it. I enjoy it. So glad to see another video on it. Need more Rado reviews with real life video footage rather then profession close ups. To other Potiental customers it’s gives a real life view of watch on hand. Liked and subscribed

The case is made from tungsten carbide or more simply known as carbide. This is the material that mining drill tips are made from. Its harder than sapphire and only diamond is harder. 9.4 on the mohs scale.
The old cases used to be made of tungsten carbide. Now they are made from a different ceramic. Which is a mixture of titanium carbide and ceramic. It isn’t as hard as the old cases from the '60s. I don’t know why they changed it. Maybe easier to machine or has a better shine or both, but it isn’t as scratch resistant while still being very resistant.
I've owned this watch (with old ETA caliber) for about 6 years now and fthe watch is superb for the price! I am happy everytime I wear it or even just look at it.
Love the design of the Rado Diastar and own the Split Second Chronograph version❤️ Someone called it the Darth Vader watch😁 The movement of your watch is an ETA C07.621 which is the modern (Powermatic) version of the 2836-2.
The Rado Dia Star 🌟⌚design is so good that the brand didn't really see the need to completely change may be just minor the look....it may even look better in 2082 ? 😃
@@anonymouswatchguy4223 My late father was a senior custom & excise officer & for yrs.i just couldn't understand why in the world he liked such a ugly BIG watch because he was such a down to earth type of man.Now fast foward to 2k21 i researched the Rado brand & found its such an amazing brand & now as a 51yrs.old Man I'm one of the Biggest supporters & i'm going to purchase 1 Because I Now understand what he saw in it 😀

Got one from my grandad. I think it was bought by my mom as a gift from Saudi Arabia on 1997. Still working like new. Love the iridescent blue dial.❤
