Anything is right! They’re the perfect duo, they’re a match made in heaven, they’re…. well… they’re Mario and Sonic! Hopefully Nintendo and SEGA can put their differences aside and give the people what’s best for us
Even though I seriously doubt they would ditch Mario for the Olympics with Sonic on the Switch, I honestly wouldn't be too bothered by it much. As big as it was back then, the M&S series has worn out its welcome at this point. They really haven't done a whole lot to move the series forward since London 2012. Heck, they've been going pretty much backwards in terms of content and fanservice. We used to have a handful of Dream Events, costumes, soundtracks, etc. themed around both franchises, only for them to be nearly nonexistent in Tokyo 2020, which should've been a big deal to give the game a big push since it takes place in both franchises' origin country. If we do still get another Mario & Sonic game this year, I wouldn't hold my breath on it being any better than the last few ones.
I think you make some great points! The entire job listing definitely seems weird, but I don’t think that SEGA is truly going to start a war against Nintendo all these years later. Especially when it didn’t turn out very well for them last time… 😅 I also agree with you as far as content goes. I barely played any of Tokyo 2020, but I do have such fond memories of the older Olympic games! I’m hoping maybe they bring things back around to how they were, because with such a decrease in quality it’s hard to find a reason to keep going back. Should we tell him that the main reason why Mario & Sonic are no longer meeting at the Olympics is because the International Olympics Commitee chose to not renew their deal with Nintendo and Sega in order to pursue new partners to make Olympics themed esports... and NFTs. Yeah, it has just been confirmed hours ago that this is the real rrason why this series is now over.
They've had the Olympics since 2008 (except 2018 and 2022) and it is now the beginning of 2024 and still no Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Paris 2024?!
Yeah… Kind’ve has me worried for the future of the series. I wonder what those job applications really were for and how big of a change we’ll see. It’s interesting to say the least

Could be just talking about job listings for the mobile version they have planned, removing the crossover element of the games would really kill down the marketing for the series, hence why it’s never really just sonic on the consoles, mobile is just mobile

The only thing that still stands out to me as odd however, is how the job listing explicitly asks for somebody who has experience on both Xbox and PlayStation for this “Sonic” title. Both video game companies -- Nintendo and Sega has been fighting over which company is the best far too long. It has to stop right now! We all wanted Mario & Sonic to meet again in the next Olympic Games.

Maybe the reason it wasn’t mentioned I’m thinking is because sega don’t own the rights to Mario so they couldn’t mention him in there documents that’s my theory and by the way good video I’ve checked out some of your other vids and I’m enjoying the content I’ve even subbed keep it up 👍
I think that’s a great theory! It would make a lot of sense for each studio to look for new hires separately as opposed to together, so maybe you’re on to something. Honestly, I agree with you. It wouldn’t be such a bad thing to let Sonic & his friends have the spotlight for a little bit. They could possibly even give it more of a unique feel. Although, an olympic game where you can only play as different color Yoshis might be a banger… LOL
