Fix your broken Iron Farm! If no golem are spawning it's either the beds, the work stations, spawn limits, or the rain. You can generally tell what is wrong by checking to see if cats are spawning! They should produce around 400 iron per hour, if they don't something might be wrong! Iron farms are way easier than people think! The only "hard" part is moving villagers into the farm. I really want to build one of these! It's getting harder and harder to find iron in my world around me, so this would be so helpful!
Yeah, its like the 1st thing i build now lolol i use iron that I mine as building blocks cuz the raw iron is pretty and interesting XD
Plus once it's done you get all the xp, golden carrots, quartz, glowstone, diamond gear, redstone, and whatever other trades you can get! At least until mojang kills it since they hate us lol
never build a iron farm in bedrock but they always look like so much more pain to build :D
They might be!! Not too sure. I never built an iron farm in java, but they use the scare mechanic right?

Imo square sky farms are the worst lolol but ones that have crazy redstone sometimes look kinda cool haha
I like the compactness of Java, but I'm going to always build a trading hall anyway so bedrock mechanics are a pain, but it's two birds with one stone.

I tried to build the 5x5 design just to see if i could get it to work, i did manage to get it to work. I dropped the level of the ground on the outside down a few blocks so the cats and golems stopped spawning on the ground outside. Still not fantastic rates but expanded it to a 5x20 area with 20 beds and it improved it quite significantly
Nice! It is easy at least. But like.. the hardest part of an iron farm is just getting the villagers and linking the beds >.> building a 5x5 hole or a 17x17 hole is like the same amount of effort... XDD so misleading of naughty people!!!
@@OmLedu I'm about to release an iron farm that solves those problems :) its 29x29 and has 40 villagers :) 4 golems at once. Self populating farm

Is there a benefit to keeping the lava in a 1x1 VS letting it flow to a larger size with more signs?
I don't believe so!! I meant to add that in there. Would prolly be better as a 3x1x3 lava!!!

In the NO TRADING DESIGN, you can use smithing tables to have a sound effect that fits the iron farm 😂

Cats & golems share the same mob cap for that area. So, if you have too many cats, golems will stop spawning. I've heard that if you have 1 less cat than the golem/cat cap, then it will only spawn golems and no cats. Problem is, that the cap number changes depending on how many villagers there are in the village. I'm also not too sure if having cats in general affect overall rates, or if it just counts toward the cap. So it might be safe to have a cat or 2, but I would just kill them, or move pets outside of simulation distance from the farm. Even if there are too many cats & it shuts off golem spawning, it doesn't affect the villagers. All you'd have to do is kill & or move the cats away. Sim4 is the typical simulation distance, which is 4 chunks in each direction from the player. So like 64-80 blocks away from the farm should be good.
Also if you see a cat outside the farm, it typically means that golems could also spawn outside the farm. Implying that either the leader's bed is no longer in the center, or that there is a spawn-able location not covered up by leaves or something.
@@OmLedu I don’t understand I built one and it worked perfectly fine. I have almost a full double chest of iron blocks. Then I added too many villagers because I had a trading hall underneath and added some more beds and my golems started spawning outside of the farm so I just built another one about 200 blocks away. I haven’t been able to get a single iron golem to spawn in either farm since. Nothing seems to work.
@@MrJohnnyklef uh oh! Lets seeee... if golems started spawning outside. Then the leader's bed prolly got switched. That happens allot especially if babies grow up there. The babies tend to steal his bed X]]
Redo those beds & it should be okay.
As for no spawning at all. Could either be that some villagers didnt accept a bed, there rn't enough beds for them to all have 1, or the workstations. Or could also be too many cats hidden around, but usually that's not that since something like 6+ cats would need be hiding.
Place a bed on the floor near the villagers to see if anyone takes it. That will at least tell you if there rnt enough beds or if some didn't accept a bed. & if there are villagers on multiple levels, like y levels, offer them all a bed. They really hate connecting to beds that are 3 blocks above their heads -.- can be annoying to get them to link up.
Then if they don't accept the bed it's either cats or workstations. For workstations, I max out 1 trade on all the villagers & wait a day to see who isn't working.
@@OmLedu OK I’ll try that. Thank you so much.! I’m doing the same thing I did with the last one. I have the iron farm with a trading hall underneath. Beds are two blocks above the golem spawning point. Trading hall is Four blocks beneath the spawning point. Same exact thing I did a month ago and it worked perfectly. I have the villagers in 1X2’s with one block between them. Workstations directly in front of them. Also, I recently switched to realms. Not sure if this is anything to do with it.

Is the realm you switched to crossplay by chance? Crossplay servers use java mechanics is why I ask.
I did build one, and it worked but stopped working and I have tried everything but is still struggling with it 😢

@@OmLedu really appreciated your video my friend. I made an iron farm and the guide suggested path blocks as non-spawnable blocks for iron golems.
Have you tested path blocks? I am having concerns and skepticism. Maybe I should just put a red stone item like lever/button/pressureplate on the dirt blocks surrounding the spawn pit instead? Any advice?
Also… the pit is 8x8. Maybe I should add the 8 block additional water flow into the farm from above.
@@smillman437 Oh how interesting! Ill have to test and see if paths do work! I'll let you know in like 5 mins haha. Redstone stuff def works, because i usually add a piston door in the front & never get any golems spawning there. I always default to leaves since you just need sheers to collect them, but paths would be a good alternative as well if that workzzz.
As for the spawn area 8x8 will work just fine, but the rates will be better, about double, if the platform is 17x17.
Having a ridge in the water though will increase rates from the 8x8, but not as much as a 17x17 would since golems and cats will occasionally fight the water & sit on the ridge. It does also help prevent them spawning where they shouldn't at least!

@@smillman437 The paths do in fact seem to block the spawns! Super interesting :D
So either leave it as is and spam paths, or expand your platform in some way.
Since you have all the villagers there ready to go, changing the platform to a 17x17 with a hole and floating lava in the center, would be fairly easy. & dramatically improve rates. I get really mad at yters who spread misinformation & trick people just to get extra clicks >:[ The hardest part of an iron farm is just getting the villagers, so telling ppl to dig an 8x8 hole rather than a full size platform is extremely dishonorable. It doesn't save any time or materials, but dramatically lowers rates & increases the odds of the farm breaking :<
Making ppl sad or frustrated just to gain more clicks is so saddening.
