It’s legends… The portion of this video talking about age is so pointless. They could make it canon that his species lives until the ripe age of 120 if they wanted.
at 16:42 he looks like he is unhealthy and pale maybe from being in prison. Maybe now in live action he got a factor of discoloration and or is unhealthy.
Do you think it was Cad that helped slaughter the Tusken Raiders? Fennec did emphasize on it being unlikely that it was the handiwork of a speeder gang. Perhaps that'lll give Boba a reason to hold a grudge on Bane?
I thought it looked great! The pale skin made him look more aged and grizzled. I’m so glad Corey Burton brought that menacing voice back. He had a terrifying presence from his walk through the desert and especially when he showed his face. It was so well done that I’m sure people who didn’t know the character got the impression that he was a cold-blooded killer and not someone you mess with.
I screamed YES when I realized it was Cad Bane. Then I had to take 5 minutes explaining who Cad Bane is to everyone else in my family because they refuse to watch clone wars -_-
Wish more people would just be happy about it also have this opinion! Someone told me his skin wasn’t blue enough I said well when you got two sons in the middle of a desert I think you’re skin would look the way his did under the heat and sunlight lol.
I say cad bane looks fine, his skin could be a bit bluer but I'm fine with his apperance because clone wars usually makes characters have much longer or exaggerated faces than they would have in live action.
Agreed! He looked absolutely awesome & scary! The people who are complaining are the same people who still wear StarWars onesies to bed & snuggle w/ their Chewy plush toy instead of a woman!
To me, Cad Bane looks more terrifying in the live-action series BoBF than in the Clone Wars series, it really suits his character on being the deadliest Bounty Hunter
Maye it's just me, but to me, he looked far more terrifying in live action than he ever did in animation. In Clone Wars and Bad Batch, he looked cool and badass, like the type of guy you really don't want to mess with. In Book of Boba Fett, he looks like a nightmare made flesh, less "cool" but far more intimidating.
The animation is made for kids so of course he's not going to look at scary. I mean imagine if they made Anakin look exactly like the animation. Now that would look weird. Live action Adaptions of humanoid characters should never look exactly the same as an animation otherwise it would straight up look wierd and not hold the same emotional image that it needs.
Appearance aside, the episode made Bane frightening, which is awesome. He has that real "man in black" vibe from classic Westerns and shows like Westworld. He might be old, but I hope he sticks around for a while yet. I don't want him to die in the final episode. He makes an amazing wild-card villain who can show up anywhere in the Star Wars universe.
I think he looks exactly how he should, characters that start in animation are never gonna translate perfectly to live action but to me it looks like they really did a good job with him
100%. And as i said in my comment, just look at how the live action characters transalted to animation. They're not a perfect copy. They're stylised. Yoda's eyes are 10 times bigger. Anakin and Obi-wan are far more skinny in the animation. So this seems like a natural translation of the character. I think he looks great.
considering the treatment that characters usually get when turned to live action, how can anyone complain lol. Usually these Hollywood creators want to put their own spin on characters and overthink it. Remember the original Sonic The Hedgehog trailer? They practically recreated Bane exactly with a greater touch of realism
The issue with Asoka is her horn are way smaller than they should be, I'd say around the same as Shak ti's just due to how old she should be by the time her series came up
I actually like the pale skin, makes him look creepier and it pairs well with the muted colors of the desert, his mouth was a bit jarring when I first saw him but this older version of Bane has really grown on me
The pale skin makes sense but if you look at some of his species in the cantina scene you see that they’re mouth is way down in their chin. So I don’t know how they managed to stuff up where his mouth is. I mean we’ve seen his species in live action and they definitely have elongated faces with mouths very low
@@paleoguy2165 How does pale skin make sense? Has it been established that other old Duros turned pale when they aged? Humans get paler when they spend years indoors, not because they're old.
I didn't care about the extremely minor visual differences, I'm just really glad they got his voice right! Having Corey Burton voice him in love action with a stunt actor was the perfect call.
Whoever is complaining about how Cad Bane looks in live action is extremely nit picking and exaggerating immensely, he looks absolutely freaking awesome and literally better than what anyone should’ve expected, some people cry over the stupidest things I swear... man looks almost exactly like in clone wars if not a lot better, some very slight differences but that should be expected bro some of y’all are just insane fr
If a character as beloved as Cad Bane gets a design change of any kind, people will notice, and with something as big as skin color (being light blue instead of dark blue) it’s understandable some people would complain. Personally I think he could have been a little darker blue, and maybe tone it down on the teeth, but I’m fine with the design otherwise. For adapting a character like Cad Bane into live action from the CW style, which has an exaggerated style, he looks pretty good imo, but he could be improved a little.
I think he looks different because Thrawn is also blue with red eyes so they need some sort of contrast between his species and Bane’s. It’s better for Thrawn to be a darker blue(like in the books) and Bane to be a paler blue.
Idk about that. Thrawn's species is basically just humans with blue skin. Bane doesn't look like a human at all. This is just an animated character being transitioned to live action.
@@stannedup1133 …but Mando and Boba have brought in a big chunk of fans (like us) who have know all nine movies forwards and backwards, but never watched/read the comics, books and cartoon shows. Two guys that similar might cause confusion. If I didn’t follow Star Wars Theory’s explanation videos, I’d be likely to think Bane is the same species as Thrawn (and perhaps related), only with a face disfigured in some kind of battle, which would explain the breathing apparatus.
@@jennycraigadventures3314 what an odd mistake to make. Cad Bane looks like your traditional green alien people have been drawing forever, only blue. Would be weird to mistake him for Thrawn’s species.
I think this is a perfect live action adaptation of Cad Bane. His speech, it’s cadence, his movement - hell, his stillness too, and of course his appearance are all absolutely terrifying. Everyone involved in pulling this off did absolutely amazing work.

@@ondrejm5042 Theory literally talked about this in the video, I don't need to provide you with a source. And obviously some things are gonna look different when you take something from a heavily stylized kids cartoon and put it in live action. It's also safe to assume that like a humanoid species would have bigger noses as they age like us humans do. Plus, if you're really bothered by those tiny things then you're just a nitpicky crybaby.
I’m someone who’s just appreciative that they even put him in. There’s going to be differences between the animated series and live action for everyone. Ahsoka doesn’t have giant silver dollar size eyes in live action and that’s okay because animation tends to over exaggerate features. I like the age theory, but either way, I don’t see anything wrong with them giving him a rounder face or paler skin.
We have seen Cad banes species already in movie. That makes it way more stupif that he looks like this. And they also could and should just not have used Cad Bane, do you have any idea how big a galaxy is?
Exactly these plebs complaining are so butthurt because they aren't creative. Create shit way I want it reeeeeeeee I have no creativity reeeeeeeee you must create things for me how I want reeeeeeeee
It's one thing that he doesn't match the animated version -- as you say, different media have different art styles. What bugs me is that he doesn't even look like versions of his species we had alresdy seen in live-action.
He looks great. He looks different because it's live action, and bringing a only animated before this character to live action has its issues. His species before never had a talking role in the films and was simply a rubber mask. Now they want him to talk so it looks a bit different
@@mrbonjangle 1) it's much more simple to deepfake 2) it would cost a lot, and we could tell the budget wasn't that high this time, at least during the first 4 episodes
His introduction was amazing, so well directed and presented. It reminded me of Roland Deschain in a way, from the Dark Tower, of course not as hero, but the menacing appearence.
I think it's because of two reasons 1. His age, he's pretty old for his species and the discoloring could be a result of that 2. Resembles the Duros from a new hope better, since they were a paler blue
This is how he's supposed to look. He's older and Filoni knows his characters. Can't always make them look exactly like what they were in animated form.
There's a TH-cam video where it's "fixed" If a small TH-cam channel can do it, so can filoni. But I don't really care, I just feel like a kid again and thats enough
@@iconicblunt5593 it wouldn't have changed, Filoni wanted it to look this way. We're just too biased form having seen years of him in CW and the humans looks the same. I would have made some of those changes tho to make him look even more menacing rather than closer to his animated look.

He went from cartoon to live action. The character cant be mistaken for anyone else, this was an epic move and moving forward it would be cool to see the character in his own series.
My first impression when watching the episode was “wow he actually looks like an aged version of what we know” and that i dont think most people are super settled with how alien species look when aging, especially with a character with a known aesthetic. Like… for example chewbacca in the sequels (if i remember correctly) basically looks the exact same. And also… i think it is extremely awesome how he was INSTANTLY recognizable as soon as he came on screen in the distance.
Yep, it was amazing. From the very beginning his figure could be seen I had my jaw set down. I was like, No way, is that?! I couldn't believe it and then he showed his face...
I think the answer is just a mix of being older and just translating an animated character to live action. Same as Rosario's live action Ahsoka. Very simple answer.
When I see Ahsoka in my mind I never see Rosario's version, the actor is only yo portray a character, in my mind Bane looks more like he looked in the clone wars, he design in The Book of Boba Fett is good but it could be better
But that’s literally what boba is dude. He’s a bounty hunter allied to the empire. He’s bad through and through and they need to stop trying to turn evil people good
@@corycox5674 he was paid by the empire, not allied with them. I imagine he could've cared less who hired him, as long as he had work as a Bounty hunter. Not to mention the empire was probably offering the highest bounties and hiring the best of the best, which just so happened to be Boba. Whether Bounty hunting itself is a good or evil profession is up for debate, but we have seen character development in episode 2 of this show. Still think it's kinda harsh calling Boba evil, what's the difference between him and Mando?
I immediately associated the changes with his age but It didn’t bother me one bit. It’s even more menacing and the fact that he’s still kicking at this age makes him even more badass.

I saw that in theater.. grown ass man here and i was legit afraid for them.. i started yelling help them! it was involuntary. My kids and i went home and immediately watched a new hope.
Loved seeing him in live-action. Also, really appreciate you brought up how a job was a job, nothing personal. You see it with his duel with Cobb - one single shot, not so with that deputy he put multiple shots into.

The fact I recognized him off the bat is good enough for me! It was certainly a surprise. I'm just happy they're putting the love, story and lore back into Star Wars considering the what they did with the Disney Trilogy. I've been a big of Thrawn fan since Tie Fighter and Heir to the Throne and hope to see a live action version!!
dude when i tell you i had to hold back on fangirling in front of my dad- as soon as i saw the silhouette i was like “is that Cad Bane? nah it can’t be… YESS ITS HIM” i like the fact that he’s pale too. like many have said, it shows how much he’s aged. and just the tension in that whole scene. love how western it was.
I'm sure he will have the toothpick in the future episode (or in season 2). He didn't have it all the time in The Clone Wars and we just saw him for a few minutes in TBOBF.
The fact that while cad was ruthless he had a code he followed. Personally in the episode that had the box when he stops the sniper from shooting obi wan cad said," if your gonna kill home do it like a man." Makes me like him even more.
Star wars series have so much small details in them, making it worthwile to rewatch every episode I love the fact that Cad noticed the deputy forgot to unholster his blaster, taking out Cob first knowing he still would have plenty of time to shoot the deputy
The tubes don’t really help him breathe. He has a tube down his throat and in combination with the outside ones help him breathe in space and prevent force choking. Whether that messes with his voice we don’t know
The one feature that most makes him look odd compared to how we’ve seen him before is the position of his mouth. The rest is fine. It is unlikely that age would’ve made his mouth move up an inch. I know that they were working with an actor’s face, but they shouldn’t have extended the actor’s chin down as it appears they did.
I don’t get why people judge him so much based on slight differences between the animated Cad and the live-action version. What he looks like isn’t why he’s such an awesome character - he’s liked because of his interesting personality and bad-ass attitude. As long as those qualities are translated well, I’ll be more than happy.
Like, sure, he looks a little different, but, as you said, he's a cool character regardless regardless of what he looks like, and everyone could still tell that it was him and not "random blue cowboy guy" without his name being mentioned, so I don't see the problem.
Totally agree with all of you here, he is still recognizable and the character isn't just the appearance. Although for me personally he does look a bit funny and that does take me out of the show a bit.
I agree completely. People disliked how the live action Ahsoka looked but what you can do in a cartoon and what you can do in live action are to completely different things.
It's like a lot of things when moving from animation to to live screen , what looks good on the screen are two different things. If you listen to Dave Filoni explain Ashoka's differences and the reasons it makes sense.
Cad Bane is a “villain’s villain”. He’s formidable, menacing, evil, and laser-focused on his objectives. Very Thrawn-like in some ways, but not as refined. But he has an honorable “Old West” code that goes along with his cowboy hat. So, he’s a villain you can’t hate.
2:17 If I recall correctly, Cad Bane was inspired by Lee Van Cleef's character *Angel Eyes* in the Dollars Trilogy, hence the overall look of his clothing and the motives for his actions.
One of the things I noticed when he first came on screen were his boots. Unlike his boots from his appearances in the Clone Wars and the Bad Batch, these don’t appear to be rocket boots. Bane must’ve ditched his rocket boots as time went on. My guess is this is because of his age, and is consequently less athletic probably. I just thought it was a cool detail, and further emphasizes that this Cad Bane we’re seeing is essentially an old man now. Also I wonder where Todo 360 is (Edit: grammar)
When Dooku was introducing the Bounty Hunters for the plan to kill the Chancellor, Dooku said, “Cad Bane, who needs no introduction.” It proves that Cad Bane is such a good Bounty Hunter that a Sith Lord respects him. Cad Bane is by far my favorite Bounty Hunter along with Bossk and Boba Fett.
@@TeemoForLife Agreed, best Bounty Hunter out there. The fact that he’s the only other Bounty Hunter (other than Jango, I think) to kill Jedi makes him so much better
Honestly, this is exactly how I would’ve predicted/wanted bane to look in live action. The only two complaints are the lack of a toothpick and no blinking whatsoever.
Honestly think it’s a good depiction of what he’d look like in alive action, definitely could be worse. Got to remember that the Clone Wars version has exaggerated features due to it being an animation, whereas live action is always going to tone some things down.

That scene from when we see Bane walking towards the town from the harsh, scorching desert, to when he perforated that poor deputy, was Star Wars gold. Great stuff
Once it’s explained, it makes sense they did a good job of keeping the characters energy from the clone wars but also made him appear older on screen which would explain the Pale skin. I think he looks fine Disney did a great job of bringing him on screen it definitely could have been worse
As a clone wars fan I knew instantly who he was. The voice sounded good too although I’m sure there was some difference. I was so giddy seeing him brought back
I do think Boba has changed, but I think we are about to see a glimpse of pre-Disney Boba. I think one of the other crime lords will break their truce with him and aid the syndicate which will result in Boba having to teach the crime lords a lesson by example. This will probably carry over into season 2 to give us something to look forward to.
as soft as hes become with beginning to care for others, mandalorian showed us hes still a cold blooded killer, he will kill without hesitation, hes just now also more calculated so he puts himself in scenarios where he can minimise the killing, look at the nikto speeder gang, he enjoyed that shit, like weve seen if he gets put in a scenario to fight, he will kill with no remorse, another example is the ninjas who attacked him and fennec, yea he wanted one alive but that was just for intel, he still heartlessly slaughtered the rest
@@Kaoticreeper yeah but they've still basically neutered the character for the sake of having a friendly character the whole family can watch. it also comes with the territory of writing a character that had 6 seconds of original air time with no lines
@@alvinoflys7504 perhaps, we now know Disney Star Wars isn't afraid to show action after seeing ep5 and now with Cad Bane planting that seed of Boba's past with the audience, we might now start seeing Boba's original character creep up every now and then. @@ScripticMind Well considering its the end of the season already and we haven't seen that "dark side" in him i doubt we will. And if we do see something in episode 7 it will be minor, because like I said, they won't alienate the audience by subverting the subverted expectations. its disney they play straight and narrow. Boba is a good guy now. Even if he was a bad guy his character motivations are basically all good. They're setting him up to be a Bounty Hunter Daimyo on a planet where there were none. They're setting him up to call together a band of bounty hunters to help mando and Grogu establish and fight for the next generation of force users aka Rey.
He is perfect in this show. One of the few clone wars characters that I liked a lot. I think it would be really cool to see Embo in live action although that's unlikely
Sadly I feel like the fact he’s so old now definitely means he will be biting the dust in the next episode, which I’m all for because I’m so intrigued to know how characters like him come to an end considering how long they’ve survived
I think Bane looks fine in the show. But I have seen a fan edit that makes him look better. We can't put every change in his appearance down to age. His chin, for example, is too large. His species has a very thin chin. Age doesn't change skeletal structure. That change is obviously because it's practical effects and the man under the make-up has a human chin.
True, in ANH the duros never speak, it’s a rubber mask, here doing that would have been harder. And imo I prefer practical affects that look slightly wrong over cgi. The less cgi the better imo
Maybe he just gained some weight. He is 71 years old, he’s not gonna look as good compared to his younger years. Also u cant recreate a cartoon character exactly in live action lol i think he looks rly rly good for live action
Have you SEEN Clone Wars Count Dooku? He has the skeletal structure of a GIRAFFE. Real life to animation never transforms accurately and same goes for vice versa. Criticizing over menial things like cartoon character looking different IRL is honestly pathetic.
Honestly it’s hard asf to take an animated character and recreate them in live action. I think the production team and make up artists did an amazing job. Not to mention the scene in itself
I think Cad Bane looks perfect for live action. We must remember that Cad Bane in Clone Wars and Bad Batch was the animated version. I don't think we should compare animation to the live action versions of the character. Having Cad Bane look super blue would look weird in live action.

“Aww man his head is supposed to literally be extremely misshapen and like a banana in real life!!!!!” Lololol hilarious “wait why is this guy in live action and not an animated character? He was animated in the cartoon!!!!” Lol
I definitely feel that his live action was his most terrifying. I remember when my Dad and I first saw him walking into town and my heart stopped. I knew in that instant that Cobb was screwed.
He looks great! My only issue is how "toothy" he is, like he's super angry all the time when in TCW he was always calm, collected, and calculating. I assume this is a result of the prosthetics covering up the actor's nose forcing him to breath through the mouth only.
Maybe his species' teeth continue to grow as they age? We have examples of it. Beavers' teeth never stop growing for instance. They have to constantly chew to keep them ground down. I have no idea, just tossing out plausible explanations. If I were a writer I'd probably go with that tho.
@@Pohgrey I don't think they meant that he has too many teeth or that they're too large, but that they were on display for too long, too much biting on his upper lip, too much grinning.

My theory is that due to his age, Cad Bane has one last score to settle as well as unfinished business with Boba Fett. So it honestly makes sense that they'd hire him
If you look closely during the Order 66 flashback, you can actually see a red symbol on the right side door, it’s the same symbol that was on Barriss Offee’s door from The Clone Wars. Could be foreshadowing or maybe just an easter egg :)
@@temp586 I just re-watched the fight and in the first exchange I'd say Fennec was more distracted by Bane's droid that Bane was by omega. In their second fight your right, Bane is very distracted but still manages to get the upper hand most of the time.

While i would absolutely prefer if he looked just like in the animated shows, he still looks great, and we have to take in to account that limitations that using a practical costume has. So i think it's worth having the slightly different look, so we can have an actual actor in costume rather than CGI(although SW has made it clear they can do CGI faces insanely well now)
Totally agree with the unforgiven comparison. And at the end of the day, as a longtime Cad Bane fan, I eventually accepted that if I ever saw him in live action, he wouldn’t look exactly like he did in clone wars. But damn when I saw his face and heard his voice in this episode, I got the same chills that I got when he debuted in Hostage Crisis all those years ago. To quote Bane himself “I can live with that”
Boba becoming a villain again and having tricked everyone is not only the most mafia move of him but will have completely made me cry from happiness for him not being ruined like I thought he was.
The point you raised about Boba potentially just turning on everyone actually makes sense. I kinda hope it happens, after all, he has been a stone cold killer for most of his life.
i mean in all the fights we have seen hes still cold blooded, but its boba fett, hes smart as fuck and realised theres no need to fight if it can be avoided, but like with the nikto bikers, when the gunfire starts he wont hesitate, being with the tuskens didnt make him soft, it made him smarter and helped him realise cooperation and brains can be far more useful, he will avoid bloodshed when he can but if thats not an option he will kill without hesitation
Its is rather ironic though, Cad Bane decrying Boba Fett as a cold blood killer who worked for the Empire, considering the GRAVEYARDS Bane has filled, in the name of filling his credit account for anyone who would toss a chunk of change his direction. This is a man who has kidnapped children on multiple occasions, has killed more people than Smallpox and been perfectly happy to turn on and murder those who trusted him. Cad Bane is scum of the highest order and it doesn't matter how badass he looks in that hat, he a two dimensional psychopath, with seemingly no motivation beyond "Pay Me Money"... Which seems to be what every keeps saying they want Fett to be.
Honestly I thought the live action bane was great. He appeared weathered and grizzly and actually kind of scary. Just his appearance gives the vibe of a bad mofo I think we are in store for something special with his character. And can I just say I hope I pray we can a spin off maybe revolving around “bounty hunters” maybe diving more into the world of the guild and lone guns
I saw a clone wars scene come up in recommended where Cad Bane saved Obi Wan, and in that scene when light went on his skin that he also looked pale. When ecks channel recommended cinematic captures rework of Bane in tcw style I found the live action more accurate composition wise. Then ecks two channel covered it saying it has been the lighting that makes the blue washed out and also stated that even in that scene that the colour correction for blue was turned up. When I take photos of the sky, I have to lower the exposure and use colour correction to make the blue in the sky pop. I believe it's light and colour compositing, as the sun is on the infrared and ultra violet side of the spectrum it is complimentary to the blue and when warm and cool colours clash it usually trades one another off by washing away with the colour. Also I notice the hat gives cad Bane less shade than that off the clone wars so he is more exposed to light which naturally makes the blue seem washed out. He was already old in TCW and probably ages more since, but I don't find the live action adaption to be a dramatic change.
I feel that It's simply down to the way all the characters in The Clone Wars & the others, are slightly "elongated", long & thin, if you like. Look at Mauls face, long & thin, Vader & others, too. This looks ok when CGI, but it just wouldn't carry over in live action. It would be a pain in the arse to do if they actually did prosthetics, leaving less space to hide any mechanical/electrical elements for facial movement. It would look even more weird if they just directly used the same, long & thin style head/face over the actor in post, it would be off in relativity to the rest of the actors body. I totally get the skin colour thing, though...even as a colour blind guy, I can see that that blue shade is too light. OR...I'm too stoned & have totally overthought this 😂 😂 😂 *EDIT* - corrected spelling of skin.

I think he looked fine!!! It’s hard to compare animation style to real life conversion. The animation style was very exaggerated, so for a live adaptation, he looks perfect. What a great episode and just a great introduction for the character
I’m a huge cad bane fan and I think they knocked it out of the park the voice the face the demeanor..I’m still just in shock still can’t believe what we got in that last episode
Perhaps this is being retconned and the Duros now have longer lifespans. Or perhaps Cad Bane’s body has been augmented to increase his lifespan; we know he’s not above the installation of a cybernetic breathing apparatus.
He looks like a pretty good interpretation of his original design to me. I don't really think his age has much to do with it. They probably tried a few other designs (other skin tones, nose shapes, eye size, etc.), and this one simply worked best on screen.
Yeah the blue from the Clone Wars was probably too cartoony and there are physical limitations to a practical effect mask. I think they fucking killed it he looks amazing.
The same thing happened with Ashoka. They shortened her head thingys because it was impractical for action scenes and movement. They also had to chose a specific color of orange make up for her skin so it looks good on camera and blends well with the surrounding emvironment.
I'm curious about his relationship between both of the Fetts he was number two behind Jango till he died and Boba was known as Number one afterwards during the empire time. With Boba seemingly dead I'm he became number one again but now that Boba actually is alive I wonder if he has a rivalry that he wants to settle between them since he never actually did with Jango.
I wonder if Cad Bane coming back means we'll finally get to see that quick draw fight between him and Boba Fett that we were supposed to get during the Clone Wars.
TLDR:
He's old af
It’s legends… The portion of this video talking about age is so pointless. They could make it canon that his species lives until the ripe age of 120 if they wanted.
at 16:42 he looks like he is unhealthy and pale maybe from being in prison. Maybe now in live action he got a factor of discoloration and or is unhealthy.
My theory was he's sun bleached but yea, old af works too
Do you think it was Cad that helped slaughter the Tusken Raiders? Fennec did emphasize on it being unlikely that it was the handiwork of a speeder gang. Perhaps that'lll give Boba a reason to hold a grudge on Bane?
Could be sun bleached

He had a terrifying presence from his walk through the desert and especially when he showed his face. It was so well done that I’m sure people who didn’t know the character got the impression that he was a cold-blooded killer and not someone you mess with.

I was going to like your comment, but I didn't want to be the guy who became 67,cause Order 66 is the Way
I think he looks exactly how he should, characters that start in animation are never gonna translate perfectly to live action but to me it looks like they really did a good job with him
Idk about that. Thrawn's species is basically just humans with blue skin. Bane doesn't look like a human at all. This is just an animated character being transitioned to live action.

His voice is the best part of his character. Is it a by-product of his breathing tubes, due to age, or is it inherent to his species?

The one feature that most makes him look odd compared to how we’ve seen him before is the position of his mouth. The rest is fine. It is unlikely that age would’ve made his mouth move up an inch. I don’t get why people judge him so much based on slight differences between the animated Cad and the live-action version. One of the things I noticed when he first came on screen were his boots. Unlike his boots from his appearances in the Clone Wars and the Bad Batch, these don’t appear to be rocket boots. Maybe he just gained some weight. He is 71 years old, he’s not gonna look as good compared to his younger years. Also u cant recreate a cartoon character exactly in live action lol i think he looks rly rly good for live action
He doesn't have a nose lol
" Age doesn't change skeletal structure" well he is a whole different species. I think it's unfair to compare earth biology facts ,to his kind.
Have you SEEN Clone Wars Count Dooku? He has the skeletal structure of a GIRAFFE. Real life to animation never transforms accurately and same goes for vice versa. Criticizing over menial things like cartoon character looking different IRL is honestly pathetic.
This was cool! Now I wanna see the pirate Hondo Ohnaka! He once defeated Obi, Anny and Ahsoka and escaped from all of them!
Honestly it’s hard asf to take an animated character and recreate them in live action. I think the production team and make up artists did an amazing job. Not to mention the scene in itself
stfu there are much more complicated makeup artist creations and they could`ve easily just adjust his mouth position
@@dorian763 Take your own advice, lol.
@@Lost_n_Found_1 wow such a smart comeback😱
@@dorian763 It's actually very simple. You don't need to be smart to understand that if you want respect, treat others with some.
I love how creepy bane looks. His design is brilliant
I think Cad Bane looks perfect for live action. We must remember that Cad Bane in Clone Wars and Bad Batch was the animated version. I don't think we should compare animation to the live action versions of the character. Having Cad Bane look super blue would look weird in live action.
Remember how bad the original live action sonic looked? That blue was way too saturated. And it looked wrong

Can’t wait for this. I love the fact he’s gonna be a more methodical and calculated killer.
Luke in book of bobba: Forces an ultimatum on grogu.
Obi Wan: "Only the Sith deal in absolutes"
Jedi are the biggest hypocrites. All they deal in is absolutes.
@@vikasshukla4553 The main irony coming from the statement "Only sith deal in absolutes" because its an absolute statement.
I mean, Luke was correct. He saw what attachment did to his father do you want a dark side Yoda walking around? No.
I love the way he looks and sounds. Gives him an extra ultra villain vibe. The Filoniverse expands even more
I think he looks great. 🤷♂️ People complain that they don't look like the cartoon. People forget that count dooku in the clone wars looks like a banana. If people saw count dooku in cartoon form before they saw Christopher Lee play him they would be complaining that Christopher Lee doesn't look like count dooku.
Great point
I think this is my favourite comment ever. And the best way to describe animated dooku.
His nose could very well be edited out digitally, like how Voldemort's nose was done.
But I agree on the toothiness of him.
@@luckymouse1988 hmm... fair enough. I'm watching that scene again right now. Toothy or not I think they did a great job. He's truly a chilling and scary dude.
I think they wanted him to look scary not cartoony.
I think the live action bane looks great! I think the only thing I would change is making just slightly dark blue (but not as dark as the show because he’s aged) , teeth slightly less sharp (because in the shows his teeth are normal sized with the exception of one on each side which are long and sharp), and then the most important missing part is the iconic toothpick he always has in his mouth

I like the design ngl. He looks very scary. But it could have been done better no argument. Can’t wait to see Bossk next ep👌
It’s perfect, especially for being fully(I think) practical
While I originally chalked it up to live action animated characters never look exactly like they do in the animation, this was a very well thought out explanation and I love it. Thank you.
My theory is that due to his age, Cad Bane has one last score to settle as well as unfinished business with Boba Fett. So it honestly makes sense that they'd hire him
Boba did shoot him in the head lol
If you look closely during the Order 66 flashback, you can actually see a red symbol on the right side door, it’s the same symbol that was on Barriss Offee’s door from The Clone Wars. Could be foreshadowing or maybe just an easter egg :)
How did you notice it?
@@Galaxyca I saw a video talking about it, he probably did the same
Went back to the episode and took a look on pause. Nope.
Weren't they on all of the doors?
I think another fact worth mentioning is that he's also fought Fennec, and it didn't go so well for him.
They might meet again in Season 2 of Bad Batch
To be fair most of the time he was focusing on omega
@@temp586 I just re-watched the fight and in the first exchange I'd say Fennec was more distracted by Bane's droid that Bane was by omega. In their second fight your right, Bane is very distracted but still manages to get the upper hand most of the time.
Who else was happy to see cad bane in live action and from the scene you see him walking across the dessert was great.
This is the kind of character you can see from far away. He just slightly appears that i knew it was him.
Im really glad they brought him into the show. He's a serious crook and that's what Star wars need. One of the best since Disney own SW and they really made it well in live
*People need to just enjoy the fact we’re getting these characters in Live Action, and not get so worked up about how accurate some of these translations are. I absolutely loved that episode with all of its cameos and ending it with Cad Bane was absolutely AMAZING!!!🙏🏼😄*
and then a fan spends like 2 days from the show release and is able to fix the scene perfectly. They did listen to the Luke debacle in Mando S2E8 - it was perfect story, did not mind the imperfect CG, but again a fan showed us how it can look much better using deepfake. Now they hired him and Luke in BoBF looks much better.

Humans can never be pleased. Viruses are never content
Maybe, but his extremely big hat was his thing. And now he has a tiny hat. I call this dodo.
Lol. We don't need to do 'just anything'. We don't have to be grateful. We are paying them for it.
While i would absolutely prefer if he looked just like in the animated shows, he still looks great, and we have to take in to account that limitations that using a practical costume has. So i think it's worth having the slightly different look, so we can have an actual actor in costume rather than CGI(although SW has made it clear they can do CGI faces insanely well now)
Get him a water he looks pale
jokes aside his looks aint too bad, could be better but this is enough, as long as I can tell its cad Bane Im good
Totally agree with the unforgiven comparison. To quote Bane himself “I can live with that”
Simple answers
1. Live Action compared to TCW
2. He’s old
I’m pretty content with this
I didn’t think we’d ever get a live action version of bane so anything is better than nothing
Boba becoming a villain again and having tricked everyone is not only the most mafia move of him but will have completely made me cry from happiness for him not being ruined like I thought he was.
I love this channel, it really helps me knowing whats going on with star wars cuz my dad needs to renew the subscription.
Cad bane may be very old for his species but he's still a worthy opponent and a deadly one at that I think that's what we or most can agree on.
Even after the end of the Clone Wars, even after the fall of the Empire, Bane has not changed a bit.
@@liamphibia he's still got it
The point you raised about Boba potentially just turning on everyone actually makes sense.
Never would happen with disney tho they changed him.. like a bantha
@weldonwin Cad Bane never said he was any better to Cobb though. You're just looking too much into it
@@weldonwin I totally agree hes the villain u hate to like considering everything he's done
OR...I'm too stoned & have totally overthought this 😂 😂 😂
*EDIT* - corrected spelling of skin.

Agreed.
I really didn’t think they could bring cad bane into live action, but that’s Dave filoni for you lol.
Id love to see Bane be like Eastwood from Unforgiven. An old grizzled gunslinger who's still sharp and lethal.
That’s exactly who I thought of when I saw that scene!
I wonder if Cad Bane coming back means we'll finally get to see that quick draw fight between him and Boba Fett that we were supposed to get during the Clone Wars.
In the bad batch he has a metal plate on his head so I’m assuming that has already happened
@@jimbojim4767 and boba already has the dent in his helmet in BOBF, not to say they couldn’t have a second duel
