Well, considering that the battle was very massive and crowded with the amount and density of ships, it just ended being a slug throwing fest where positioning didn't matter.
I was wracking my brain around why the line "Fire the Emergency Booster Engines!" line feels so good, and I realized it's one of those little things that makes this world feel so real. You have a crashing ship, and instead of spouting gibberish like "Flux Capacitor" or "Somehow, Palpatine..." Grievous gives an order using language that most audiences would understand to fix a problem that they already understand is happening. No overexplanation or leaving the audience confused

forgive me if you don’t care but in the novelization of this film, Grevious has a great scene before the siege, where he dives into detail about exactly where they need to attack and what emergency responders to prioritize. He specifically mentions targeting shelters and EM stations, which heavily crippled the republic forces on world at coruscant. this i feel was why they were successful in this invasion. despite us knowing Palpatine is the one really holding all the cards, i feel that people forget just how capable and renowned of a war general Grevious actually was.

I feel like every space battle ever tries to replicate the scale and madness of lucasfilms' battle of coruscant. Thank you lucasfilms. Can you imagine how much thought and effort went into making a space battle involving hundreds of on screen ships fighting a chaotic yet clearly continual battle? (2 examples I can think of is the Lucrehulk you see below "Invisible Hand" before it starts falling towards the planet, that Lucrehulk stayed almost in the same spot the whole scene, acting like a rally point for resistance. Also, the 2 Munificent frigates that were exploding right before the Venator and Invisible hand went for broadsides were there also when the invisible hand was first shown. They were it's escort, and they were picked off from several directions before the broadside battle.)

So more than 10 years after first watching this scene I still can’t explain why but I love this scene so much!! In the novel it's something like Grievous couldn't prove to republic command that the Chancellor was alive. And the Jedi didn't have time to contact command to say they got the chancellor.
I believe Grievous was hailed by the admiral of the opposing ship, saying they were going to destroy Invisible Hand. Grievous tried to show the admiral that he had the chancellor on board, but by that time Anakin and Obi Wan had already freed him. So He lost his leverage and the republic ship saw no reason to cease fire.
I’m pretty sure what happened is one of the shields that separates the guns from the vacuum of space was destroyed. Which seemed to bring the ship into Coruscant’s gravity. But that’s just an assumption.

No, the Venator was much, much weaker compared to the Providence Cruisers. Also, the Invisible Hand was actually smaller than the Venator. The Invisible Hand had been weakened during the battle.

You know what I'm gonna say it, as a kid I loved the prequels, then I got into the stigma of "oh the acting was weird and the this blah blah blah..." but I think, after the sequels I can say, that the prequels are soooo good!
I really miss this Warfare in Clone Wars. All they use were little turbocannons and it really didn't contain great space battles, just small missions most of the time.
The prologue was probably the best part of the movie and this little scene is pretty cool, especially the sound design which has always been top tier. Rest of the movies pretty underwhelming.
I absolutely love the clang of those spent shells hitting the floor is such an awesome sound.
